I think Maurice is too strong with the love scenes and it makes her uncomfortable that's why you really see a lot of love scenes. His most recent interview 2015 he talked about wanting to be paired with others, but the writers choice Carly and he is dealing with it. He will always prefer to work with Vanessa because both she the same passion for the character. That is why she came back to GH 2010, but I think they kept making her character too emotional and arguing more each day with Sonny that she probably felt it would be better to leave instead of taint the memory of Sonny's love. Her emotional exist proves that Sonny and Brenda truly love each other and both Vanessa and Maurice are committed to their characters love. They both see that the writers don't want Sonny and Brenda together. If she comes back it will be probably when Maurice is about to resign.

They went from HATE, LUST, CARE, TO LOVE that takes willingness and sacrifice which make that discovered love all the more special than easy love. They fought thru ugly to get there. What they did to Jason was wrong. However, Jason insisted he didn't want Carly and he never felt that way for her. He turned her down at every corner. Then he suddenly kissed her. Thats all it was a kiss. He said he didn't feel sorry about it but he didn't want a relationship w/ her either. He loved her but in the scene when Sonny asked what was that about between him and Carly after Jason kissed her you can tell he didn't want her and really didn't completely love her in that way.
There was I time that I would've agreed because I started watching GH in 1995 strictly based off the love story of Sonny and Brenda. Now I have to say that Sonny has 2 great loves. Seeing these old clips and S&C old clips w/ Sarah Brown Carly and Sonny are my favorite couple. They had a real, mature, deep kind of love. These 1994 clips show Brenda as whining and slightly annoying. She didn't have a clue and was in her own dream world. Don't get me wrong I love Brenda pre-GUZA-last come back.
