I love the Radiance. I've been hopping between ship to ship for work and this is by far my favorite ship. quality of food and morale of staff has been the best amongst carnival's other ships. don't do this too often, but if you go towards the end of work hours for the Big Chicken spot, tenders will be made to order and they're sooooo juicy and soft straight out of the fryer.
Love you guys!! Thank you so much for demonstrating what a cruise vlog should be. No over the top hyper nonsense with hand gestures and snarkiness. Thanks for taking us along and actually informing us about cruising.
I'm on the glory in 25 days. I cannot wait. I'm super excited. It's my 1st cruise. My 2nd cruise is on the conquest for a 4 night Bahamian Cruise with my 6 year old niece.
We really liked what they did with the ship overall, though the Liquid Lounge is still a bit of a struggle. We do prefer this setup better than the Vista-class setup though, hah!! :P
my first ever cruise was on this ship when it was still the victory. i said i would never go on a cruise again. took my dad on an NCL 18 months later and am now platinum.
?? Ding Dong. Im having trouble finding out which ships or ports have $10 testing. I've always wanted to go out of Long Beach. I'm always so happy to see a new video.
As of right now... March 22, 2022... it looks like Carnival Radiance is the only ship offering $10 testing. There were one or two others, but they seem to have changed to the $100-$110 option or whatever the "normal" price is here: docgo.com/carnival/
That smoked poblano soup was my favorite ever on the freedom last week. And idk maybe my wife and I r getting old before our age but we r so over the showtime in dining room. I just want my lava cake and go lol.
Love your vlogs so enjoy watching them.Have been watching your older vlogs as well they are all great. Have finally been able to book a cruise here in Australia, ovation of the seas Sydney, new Zealand, Tahiti then off in Hawaii.
We visited the Spruce Goose at its current location in McMinnville, Oregon. Great museum! Plus, for an extra $30, you can get a docent led tour of the aircraft, and sit in the pilot's chair. My husband was sooooo excited!
Enjoyed this a lot! I worked on this ship back when it was the Victory in 2006-07 as an Entertainment Lighting Technician. Haven't been back on her since lol. Production shows back then were "Vroom!" and "Living In America" if anyone remembers. It's insane how much the ship has changed since then just from looking at this video. Excited to see the rest of the ship. The main forward theatre was 3 decks tall, pizza and burgers were at the aft pool where it looks like Shaq is now, is there still a retracting canopy over the aft pool? Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Looking forward to the rest of the series!
Nice! We sailed both Victory and Triumph back in the mid '00s and enjoyed them... we missed the Destiny though until she was already the Sunshine. Ah, the good ol' shows, yes... Nightclub Express, Brits, Motown, even all of those! We didn't see the retractable roof, though I'm sure it still has to be there... hmmm... like the ConQuest class has that as well still...
How fun to see you come back to a ship that's been remade! Was it strange to see all the changes to it? It looked like you enjoyed your embarkation day!
Did the Radiance 3 day to Ensenada recently as our first cruise to see if we should do a longer cruise this summer. Had a good time and happy to hear this ship is unique in its segmentedness. Based on your videos it seems like RC ships have a more "open concept" layout (boardwalk vs atrium) so might have to try them out.
Was rather surprised the safe is the mag-stripe swipe kind…had thought those would finally be retired…I have become spoiled with Princess and the newer Carnival ships all having code/button safe. Nice to see the Victory now as Radiance, though, as was fond of her from cruising to Canada/New England from NYC 10+ years ago.
We've got credit with a resort in Cancun from a canceled trip that's getting ready to expire in August, but I don't know that we've got room in the schedule for such a trip... we might need to call and see if they can extend that, ha ha... but we'd love to get some all-inclusive back in our lives again!! :P
Think I love that ship. Nice to see the old tradition of the dancing in the dining room alive and well as I miss that. Is that by chance the renamed “poop cruise” ship? Thanks for sharing.😎
Always fun to see shhhhhowtime! No, the "poop cruise" is the Sunrise now, which was formerly the Triumph. We sailed her in 2009, then again with the new name in 2020, hah!! :P
I was on this cruise back in December and it’s SOOO strange that EVERYTHING is the EXACT same, I remember basically all of the crew that I saw when I was there. It’s such a strange feeling knowing I was in that exact place and everything and every one is the same.
Much like Sunrise, they shrunk the main theater at the front from Decks 3/4/5 to just Decks 4 & 5, adding cabins on Deck 3. They also removed the big comedy lounge at the back of Deck 5, adding cabins there, and made a Limelight randomly in an area that I don't remember what it was before, ha ha... :P
Great vlog! I was on a 3 day 2/18 on the Radiance and the ship was packed (must have been because of the holiday). I’m planning on going back again because 3 days was not long enough to experience everything 😩
Love the vlogs, I went on the radiance in December for the Christmas cruise and we didn’t get a book. 😔maybe they only gave them out to people with diamond cards, I don’t know though.
Weird! We weren't expecting one at all. Our friend Jeffrey got one, but I believe he said he asked the steward specifically for one. It wasn't just in his cabin automatically. Interesting!!
I loved the Victory, missing the "green" but it's pretty. The chicken at Shaqs was good on MG, we weren't a big fan of the fries. That's just us, they were to thin we like them a little more thick.
We've got some packing cubes in our Amazon shop, but they're basically zippered bags that you can use to bundle and compartmentalize clothing within your suitcase... Dee uses them, but I never have, hah!! :P ~Jay

As always love the videos. Y’all are my cruise fix while I can’t be on one. We just got of carnival last week for the last time for a long time. On to new ships and lines.

@@parodeejay you gotta get that on the tubes for me by October lol. We are over whelmed because it a 7 day cruise with 4 ports. We don’t wanna over do it but wanna take in as much as we can lol.

Well back on the party ships, Dee wii be able to her dance on. Yeah! I don’t think Jay showed any sporty socks this time? Big Chicken yes! I am trying to eat better, somewhat!
So I have a question I hope you can answer! In this vlog you show a Holland America ship two Princess ships and a Royal Caribbean ship. Carnival sails out of Long Beach and the others out of the Port of LA. How were You able to see ALL those ships so close to Long Beach?
You need to register at Carnival’s DocGo website but no reservation is needed for Radiance and the $10 test specifically. You just show up and show them your registration for DocGo. For other ships, yes. You make a reservation and pay $100 or $110 for the test.
Not specifically, but I'm sure some folks do if the host plays extended segments of the songs. Most times, it's literally one to two seconds, which seems like it would be hard to detect. But hey, if they need a trophy that badly, so be it, I guess, hah!! :P
Going on the Carnival panorama April 9th out of Long Beach.. Can we just do the covid test there at the port or do we have to have it done before we arrive?
They do have testing at the port for something like $100 per person, I believe. You register at Carnival’s DocGo site and schedule an appointment time slot. We’ve been using the $25 proctored at-home tests that we made a couple of videos about back in August!! :D
Hey Dee, I'm thinking about going on my first cruise with my best friend. Will we need to get travel insurance separately, or can we "bundle"? Thank you!!

We are meeting a couple we have met on a previous ship on the Mardi Gras in May…where do you recommend we meet up for great drinks an prices since we’ve never cruised her?
Yes, for two or three ships on short cruises, they had $10 testing. Most ships in the fleet have the $100 or $110 or whatever it is. We avoid that one, hah!! :P
How would you say the Radiance compares to the Sunrise? Trying to decide between the 2 and considering the itinerary...is it worth a longer flight to the West Coast?
They’re pretty similar, and Sunrise had some interesting lunch options that we didn’t see on Radiance. Unless you’re really after the west coast ports, I’d say check out Sunrise!! :P
@@parodeejay I'm also comparing a 5 night on the Breeze...would you say that one is worth a longer flight with a less attractive itinerary (2 stops in Mexico vs. Grand Turk-HMC-Nassau)? Also, we are sailing with teens...

Wow. The ship looks empty. What was the capacity % ?
I don't think we ever asked or heard the exact passenger count, but we're thinking 35%-40% on this particular sailing.
