For those of you who are scared to do this directly to you kanken backpack you can try making the design into a patch and stick it or iron it on

i doubt this is gonna affect your warranty
the warranty covers things like strap and hardware breakage, not fabric tears😊 i got a strap replaced on mine and i have many pins and things on it

Alli yeah, like, just try it, man! You can first try to do it on a piece of old/used cloth and when you’re ready, you’ll do it like a pro!

You don't NEED a Kanken. It's great if you want it and can afford it, but it's definitely not a necessity
M u kinda need a kanken to do kanken embroidery...
You don't need one per say, if you really want one try and make some money to buy it (I worked my butt off just to afford one)
The Doughnut Macaroon backpacks are pretty close, and actually are my favorite. Just a tip, order directly from them (they’re based in Hong Kong). I think mine cost like $55 including shipping and I got it in a week

To anyone who wants to try it go for it don’t be afraid, I tried it on a scrap peace first and it’s really easy and looks super cute!

liloa that would make no sense! this is the fjallraven yt channel, they wouldn’t promote it if it meant losing the warranty. that would be like apple promoting swimming with your iPhone (which can break it)

Not really no. You could just use a stitch unpicker or something and cut the emroidery off. Make sure only to cut the embroidery thread not the Kanken itself.

I amost finished mine. Would have been helpfull to have seen this bevroren i starten but i did it and its really easy an fun to do. The only thing that i found difficult is getting the needle trough the fabric since its a pretty sterdy fabric

What kind of needle are you using. I heard an embroidery needle was too thick so I tried a sewing needle but I could only thread three strands of embroidery floss through the eye of one.
Try using a threader, it's a small wire hook which fits in small needles, it can pull thick thread through thinner needles

question: how do you "seal" the back of all the stitiching? or do you just leave as is? bc I've seem a few hot glue the entire thing in the back and others don't show what they do afterwards.
Maybe stitch or glue a piece of fabric onto it?
Will it still be water proof if I do this?

I wanna do this but my kankens brand new and I don't wanna spend all that money to embroider it with something I might go off of in a few years. I'm just gonna find something else to stitch on I think.

For all of you thinking “wHy Is It So ExPeNsIvE” it’s not your ordinary backpack. It’s made from recycled material, you can feel it, and it’s AMAZING quality, super earth friendly, water proof. If you look @ their website they don’t just sell backpacks they sell raincoats etc and yea it’s pricey, but it’s the best quality. This is an incredible company who gives back to the environment and helps save endangered species, hence their logo, the arctic fox. Fjallraven helped save them. Not your average jansport it’s quality your paying for people. It’s way better getting an 80-130 dollar backpack that will last you a lifetime than buying a cheap 40-60 dollar jansport or whatever. I personally love kanken. Peace and love💓🌿

Nah. It's called embroidery thread, and you can find it online and in some craft stores.

yes it is a widely known fact that embroidery only works on one special kind of backpack and literally on nothing else

@@gachalily104 water resistant is just for a minimal amount of water, for example, you're in the rain. Waterproof is when something can be submerged in water and be fine.

Avery Ji-eun When I went shopping for needles the other day I saw that there were many different types for different uses! The needle I ended up getting was specifically for embroidery, so I assume it will work more efficiently for thicker materials as that’s what most people embroider on (ex. jean jackets) Your needle is probably meant for softer, thinner materials so maybe try to go to an art store and pick a more sturdier needle! I’m no expert but it’s just what I noticed, so I hope this helps :) good luck!! ✨

@@jamieaguirre772 try looking for something that goes around your finger so that you're able to PUSH that needle through with hurting your fingers. There's things made specifically for that, but my cheap ass decided to a thick small layer of duck tape on my thumb, then I add a small cotton ball on top, and finished it off by taping the entire thing around my thumb.

Belence SS the fact that she’s Spanish may excuse her accent, but the name of the brand is Swedish so you’re supposed to say it correctly in Swedish.

birdeynamnam well not enough people can pronounce kånken and I dont have a problem witht that because im Norwegian and in the alphabet we have extra letters like Æ æ Ø ø Å å
