    • @WieselRobot

      Sorry. The reasons why I don't make tutorials here:
      First my english is not good enough to make tutorials.
      Second, in Austria (where I come from) you need to register the channel as "tv-like" if you earn someting with it. Only exeptions are: Streams, Gameplays and videos WHITOUT LANGUAGE.
      That are also the reasons I have created a new channel for german carving tutorials.

    Perfect! But how did you do the 3d version from the piece of wood? I from Rus, so I speak English not well

    • @WieselRobot
      @WieselRobot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks!
      Most of the times I make a model (out of clay, plastelin,...) , so it is easier to imagine it. After I carve it in wood.
      I visited a woodcarving school for 4 years to learn all of this.

  • @kmbrose
    @kmbrose 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    2 questions if you would be so kind:
    How many years of practice/trial&error before you reached this level of mastery?
    And how would one start to practice such a craft?

    • @WieselRobot
      @WieselRobot  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I visited a private woodcarving school for 4 years. After I stopped carving and started again few years ago. To ispiring myself I started this channel.
      If this is something what you like to try out, visit if possible a course or ask a carver near you for help. Most time you can use there tools if asked at the beginning.

      @@WieselRobot Thanks for the info dude. 😊 When all this virus stuff is over I'll look into that.
      Got any tips for someone who is considering using a knife and a chunk of wood till Then? 😂

    • @WieselRobot
      @WieselRobot  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My pleasure! 😊
      Chip carving would be a good start to learn how cut with the strain.
      There also exists a knife for this technique (easier to use).
      I personally never use a regular knife, because it is not good for carving a curve.
      You could also try to make a spoon.

    • @kmbrose
      @kmbrose 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WieselRobot I was actually considering that. 😊 What type of knife would you recommend? Pocket knife maybe?

    • @WieselRobot
      @WieselRobot  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It should work with a pocket knife.
      For chip carving a knife with a short blade is easier.

  • @zeinabalipoor5636
    @zeinabalipoor5636 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What I've learned from a few months of woodcarving: nothing is "simple" :D Where/how did you learn? Do you have any advice for a beginner?

    • @WieselRobot
      @WieselRobot  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I have learned in a woodcarving school here in Austria where I live. You could ask a carver near you for help, or visit a carving school. There also exists some tutorials on youtube. My best advice: Practice creates masters. 😊

      Um so mehr details man machen möchte, desto mehr Schnitzeisen benötigt man. Mit einem Schnitzsatz kann man so ziemich alles schnitzen.
      Ich persönlich habe mir einfach einen großen Schnitzsatz (Stubai 20er set) und dazu noch Stich 11 mit 3, 2 und 1mm gekauft. Sowas kostet viel, aber diese halten sehr lange.

      Here in Austria you need to register the channel as TV-like if you earn something with it. 😯 Only exceptions are Livestreams, Gameplay videos and videos without taking.
      The crazy part is, this video exists as a tutorial already on my harddrive.
      Hopeful you could still learn something. 🤔
