Bad News Brown - Why I Pitched Chris Benoit to WWF in 1989

  • Bad News Brown knew Chris Benoit from his Stampede Wrestling days and even pitched him to Vince McMahon & WWF in 1989. Full Shoot ➤ TitleMatchNetwork.com
    This was recorded 2 years before the Chris Benoit murders.
    Produced, licensed & distributed by Title Match Media LLC. Enjoy these full releases via Title Match Wrestling TH-cam & our streaming subscription service, TitleMatchNetwork.com.
    Bad News Brown is pound for pound one of the toughest pro wrestlers of all time. Bad News won a bronze medal for Judo in the 1976 Olympics before later emerging as a professional wrestler. Before competing for Vince McMahon in WWF, Bad News Brown (aka Bad News Allen, Allen Coage) was working for New Japan Pro Wrestling & Stampede Wrestling.
    While working for the Harts in Stampede Wrestling, Bad News helped out a young up and comer named Chris Benoit. It was Bad News Brown who actually got Benoit into NJPW in 1990. Before that happened, Bad News was pitching the same idea to Vince McMahon & the WWF. Hypothetically we could have seen Benoit debut in WWF well before he finally did in 2000.
    Title Match Media LLC digitally remastered the original raw footage, including color correction and advanced audio editing specifically for this TH-cam release.

      @ShadowAngel - When Benoit was in WCW in the 1990's he and several WCW wrestlers worked out in the same gym that I did. He was certainly the most quiet of the bunch. Whereas Iron Shiek , JYD, and Booker T were friendly Benoit was very quiet and seemed almost introverted. Sargent Dwayne Bruce was a very good guy outside of character. I would not have wanted to be somebody they did not training under him at the PowerPlant though.

    • @kennythetrend3688
      @kennythetrend3688 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @ShadowAngel The Miz was a rookie at the time and Benoit was a wrestler about respect and discipline. Plus, many relationships have rocky moments in them and saying that he was always an asshole when you are a person who never actually knew the man himself is just wrong. It's like saying a person who accidently killed someone by hitting them with their car was always a killer if they ended up commiting actual murder 5 years after that car accident. Don't be so goddamn neglegent and consider brain damage to be a factor. Also, Eddie Guerrero and Johny Grunge died without warning, which they both were close friends to Benoit so for that to happen to the guy is already a tragedy in of itself. Also, if Benoit killed his Wife and Son in cold blood, why do they call it a tragedy instead of a massacre? Because the guy was depressed and had a brain full of fucking holes in it.

He will always be known as one of the great underrated wrestlers. Also. Very eerie that since he keeps talking about *Chris Benoit* , Bad News Brown died in March of 2007, when he was 63 years old. Stampede came thru Regina once a week and I was always there as a kid, lived 10 minutes from the Auditorium. sam iron, aside from Bret (and to a lesser degree Owen), none of the family had any real talent. They rode Stu’s coattails because he was Stampede Wrestling. I can see them all being jealous of an real talent because they had none and we’re never going to be anything even at home because they just didn’t have IT.
      Benoit and others did, that’s why they made it in the big time and the brothers all had to rely on booking themselves as something they couldn’t earn on their own merits.

    I remember a old lady slapping him at a wwe (wwf) event in nashville tennessee in the late 80s. He sold it well. But he must remember that. He was working keel for hulk hogan during that match. It was a big snow storm that moved in during the show so it had to be jan 1988 or 1987. I thought it was funny his immediate reaction the look on his face toward her. She had to be in her 70s. He was outside the ring working hogan during the middle of the match ruffhouse hogan into the barricade at the first row i was in the 4th row and that lady was very defensive of the babyfaces. That is missing in the modern era of wrestling. I dont ever see the sweet little grandma's that normally are quiet and kind but take them to wrestling and they want to whip the keels and protect the faces. Alot of it was the attitude era i think it blurred the lines between face and keel cause everyone was bad guy it appealed to a younger male audience.
