Dude, this is so sick, you literally change the entire floor plan to a whole new level.
his type of layout is getting common, demolish two walls for that open concept, esp the kitchen and living room walls. will not recommend to hack bed room walls unless you are sure you will not have any child in future.
Fell in love with this flat. I owned a similar flat 20 years ago but got enbloc. 8 years later. After seeing your flat, I'm inspired to buy one again and copy your design:-)

Finally the episode I was waiting for! Seeing the”before” and “after” side by side really punctuated just how dramatic a transformation your flat has undergone. Seeing that you have been living there for a number of years prior to the renovation, can I ask how you got the inspiration for the layout? I can’t say I have ever seen anything quite like it!! The frosted glass “wall” for the expanded bathroom is truly unique and makes so much sense!

Really good job with the new layout. I have a friend who has a 3room hdb with very similar dimensions and layout of the “before” version. I would say it’s a very depressing space to be in. The living room and dining room are basically unusable as it’s basically hardly 10 feet wide. Need to hack some walls! Long and narrow is soooo hdb.

This interior design make the unit look like landed !! Especially the louvre panels at the door area. The bedroom extension area is ingenious! What was handover to you by the renovators? I have a similar layout (except the toilets ) and 40K will give me unfurnished updated unit with kitchen and toilets redone ...

Wish you could do a proper tour of your newly renovated place rather than cut snippets of film showing before and after. It's hard to imagine how the whole house looks for example when you walk in, around how long before you reach the utility? From the living hall, what do you pass through before going to the bedroom? Looks more like an interior design showcase video instead.

My house layout exactly the same , but is for own living space so is OK to tear down all room wall, my intention is to make use of all room to rent out 😁, but the air con blowing right under the head is not a good idea, for health reason , so well is the owner liking

I like the design. Ingenious use of partitions. Is it challenging to knock down all the walls? How long the renovation took?
About 2 months
The layout looks so much like my friend's (stay alone) home at Toa Payoh, but the ID she got did not do such design for her, yet cost more than S$50K. Probably yours value for money if the cost of renovation more or less the same. Wonder how are you going to manage so many plants. Fengshui wise probably got a bit of ... if you believe. Otherwise it is an awesome design.

3 room with utility and two WC is a late 1970s HDB, mostly at Ang Mo Kio. if you knock down one room, there won't be enough space for 4.
May I know , do you renovate a portion of the kitchen with ceiling leaking problem ? What about electricity in the kitchen too , due to the ceiling leaking problem . Many thanks. hi, just wanna check - on your official floorplan were the walls all black? you applied for permit to break the walls and HDB approved is it? also, how old is your flat?
No is not in black. Yes , breaking the wall need to apply permit. Is abt 50 years old.

I'd love to design my own flat too. Might you be open to do a step-by-step guide on your process and how you communicated your ideas, wants, and needs to the contractor? I'd love to know what softwares you used to map out your floor plan or did you sketch it out bit by bit? Also did you buy the flat and do the reno or did you live in it for a bit?
Sketch out your idea, discuss with your Contactor, which can be done, think something different , sometime u need to push them harder. I use photoshop and illustrator to do floor plan animation.

Hi, love the layout of the house!. Can I know those walls that u hacked are dark coloured in plan which shows structural walls. How u managed to get approval frm the Town council & how long does it takes to get approved?
You need to check your floor plan first , see which wall can be hack. Pillar and beam are not allow to hack.😁

I did, collected them over time... from OM, ikea, castlery... and many more.

Hi Friend. My current 2 bathrooms on their own are so frickin small. 1450x 1550 for the MTB. Was thinking of merging the 2 into one bathroom. But all the big pipings are right at the hackabke wall. Any idea if contractors has a way to go about doing this? Thanks!
Hi, design your bathroom with cabinet and hide the pipes in it or build false wall to hide it. Hope this help. Thanks

Thanks for sharing. Since your 3rm floor area is over 700 sqft, I wonder why you didn't do it as 2 bedrooms (one spare for guest or study) like private 2rm condo normally do? In fact, most private condo only have 600 over sq ft. So is it possible to design with 2 bedrooms and yet tasteful like yours?

@@lockcomotion951 May use movable partition concept that could be pushed aside when there is no guest, yet could be pushed to create an additional spare room when their is guest who would stay over.

BEING SINGLE is a blessing but in case you have a partner and need to use a toilet while you still using the only one. I hear, its possible to make another toilet in the other bathroom?
I like is possible, but it well take up your space.
To answer your toilet question, it is not possible unless you can connect both to one pipe. if cannot than where the shit is going to go?

If u want a total revamp work, at least a month
The cost will depend on the carpentry work. I think they go by sizes

I think beautiful. On the other hand, I think you should not buy this resale hdb because there is only got one toilet. What if you invite your friend to your house and both of you urgently need toilet. I always recommend ppl not to buy this kind of hdb. Most likely next time you want to sell this hdb will be diffcult.
