Sir, for 2023-2024 i have applied for NRI conversion, but after paying the security fee RS 205000, i could not see the NRI category in choice filling, what shall i do? do i need to wait for MCC to update the choice filling to include NRI category or do i need to clarify with MCC, please clarify, Thanks.
Sir, if one registers as a NRI candidate, then will the student still be able to choose seats under general category also (i.e. would the student be able to see enabled Govt colleges as choices which don’t have NRI/MQ seats). The aforementioned arises if the student has mid range scores, where he may or may not get a Govt seat. Here you have highlighted only Management Quota & NRI Quota for choice selection in the video. Some clarification would be helpful. Thanks very much.
An NRI candidate is eligible for all the seats. He can choose AIIMS, JIPMER, Central universities, government quota, management quota and NRI quota. There is no restriction at all. Only drawback is they are not eligible for any community reservation or religious minority reservation. Everything else is available for selection.
@@JustGetMBBSSo to clarify further, if a Indian student claims counseling as a NRI candidate (due to sponsorship), then he would have to only contest as a Unreserved Candidate (UR), and looses his/her community/religious minority reservation. This loss of eligibility does not pertain to OCI/PIO/foreigners/true NRI students (Indian Passport holders, who live abroad and finished schooling abroad)as they have to anyways contest only through the UR Category devoid of any community/minority quota. Arumugam Sir, I thank your good self immensely from the bottom of my heart for providing this valuable information, service, and dispelling the myth about NEET counseling for the prospective students.
@@jayaravisruthi in all the cases you mentioned (NRI/ NRI sponsored/ OCI/ PIO), they will be treated only as UR candidate. For the NRI/ NRI sponsored candidates, they have an option, whether to register as an NRI or Indian. If they register as an Indian, they cannot compete for the NRI quota. If they register as NRI/ NRI sponsored, they cannot compete for reserved seats. This explanation applies to MCC all India counseling. The state counseling rules vary from state to state.

An NRI can apply both to resident Indian seats as well as NRI seats. Its an additional benefit to NRIs. It is not mandatory to study five years in TN.
