There is an Amazon distributor of fob covers called Intermerge. I fixed my dying key, but its water resistance is seriously compromised. While the Intermerge cover won't do much if you leave it in your wetsuit pocket while diving at 20 meters, it should help keep it working after a drop in a puddle. My key only needed a really good cleaning but it needed opening up and complete disassembly to do it right. It works perfectly again. I didn't want to risk doing more damage trying to reglue it. A side note. Car keys often suffer from explosive temper abuse. Thrown around, stepped on, etc. The manufacturers did what they could to put an end to warranty scams. The pieces that break on opening serve no purpose other than voiding a still valid warranty.

You forgot very important things , is a two different types of the silver key some of them got one battery and same got two battery. Looks everything the same but you can fit the electric stuff inside.

Me too and unless I'm doing something wrong, the new fob's insides don't come out like they do in the original key. Only the cover for 1 battery pops open on the blank side. I ordered the key fob as per the link above.. Help???

Note: a light wipe of non-conductive silicone dielectric grease(using gloves) will protect the circuit board and allow the install to be easier

Then the case you have is a aftermarket one. Those have 1 battery, I've updated the case link for the newer style key(in video)
