Nylint and Tonka have been around since Alexander the Great first conquered Europe and the Middle East. I just LOVE seeing how far back these toy manufacturers go!
We had a full sized one on the ranch where I lived when I was a youngster. It was used to feed cattle in the winter months. It was cool to see it in operation. Of course it had additional systems on it to ease the job of feeding out round bales.
I'm not sure why, but this one was just so much more satisfying! Maybe because of all the moving parts? Maybe because of the rusty dozer on it at the end? I don't know. But it was really nice! Thank you!
I'm 100% cool with restoration. Great work indeed. I enjoyed this video. As an adult who played with these toys as a kid, I'm also in the "played with" state camp. I would totally display this toy as is, dirt and all.
Good restoration Wondered what you could transport on the back of that flat bed, but when I saw that big excavator on the back of the trailer….. Great video
I have watched just about all your videos. You have inspired me to start my own channel. It’s been slow moving but I am enjoying the journey. Thank you very much.
Have you ever tried Bon Ami to remove some of the dirt and things on tires and such? I use it to clean my silver and other things. It has no harsh chemicals, and it doesn't scratch anything. I call it the wonder cleaner. Nice Restoration!!
This is just a tip. After you wash the tires. Let them dry completely. Then with 200 grit sandpaper sand the tires it will take out the Nick's and shine them up as well. A little armor all will help too. Nice restoration though you did a great job.
Nice work - as always. I reckon the original green was probably from left over stocks of USAAF 'Dark Dull Green': F.S.34092, and 'Chrome Yellow': F.S. 13432 for the wheels.
Joe did you see that rusteloum hammerite green black silver paint and found that Chrysler had a paint in the 70s I believe the restoration people use it on ford Chevy & gm painted wheels like the gto stingray tand the SS called argent silver it bright when first applied but tones down when dries
I like this guy because he actually restored it and not buy a model and make it junky and “restore” it
I've noticed that with tech repairs. They buy an iPhone or computer and make it look like junk and semi repair it.

WOW this is great WORK ! ! ! Thank you. . . I was lent a collection of larger scale vehicles to show. . . .LOVE your Video!
Today's Childers miss this great tin toys
That is awesome!!! What a cool toy! Super workmanship!!!
Thank you!
Ahhh, Nylint. The poor kids Tonka. I had quite a few of 'em. This one was way better than the cheap ones I had in the 70's.

Tonkas were actually far less expensive than comparable Nylints...

Very nice resto. Good that the dares were available. Also that you remembered how it came apart.
omg! I'm restoring the exact toy right now...crazy!
A great restoration job of a great toy. At its height, Nylint employed around 400 people in their factory.
I'm not sure why, but this one was just so much more satisfying! Maybe because of all the moving parts? Maybe because of the rusty dozer on it at the end? I don't know. But it was really nice! Thank you!
For me its the yellow on green. Something that combo just pops!
@@joe_diy Yes! Absolutely.

Я в детстве игрушечные ЗиЛы восстанавливал. Самый крутой был с бортовым полуприцепом.

Hey, friend - nice restoration. Hint - when you install the engine make sure the engine's exhaust manifold is on the same side as the exhaust pipe! JP
You just better and better. Very nice.

You ever used USC all metal for metal repair with powder coat
Brasil🚜👏
Have this toy in much better condition but missing the plastic faux motor. Any hints where one could be sourced?
If you can’t find one, get someone with a 3D printer to make you one!
@@numb41 That's a good suggestion, Thanks
