Thanks so much for watching! I bought this toy with several others for $30. Have you ever seen one of these before? If you haven’t seen Snap-on Jack video here is a link th-cam.com/video/Q1CgM-kWm2w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tRusys86Le0bzoKE Have a great day! 👍
I was trying to figure out what that was but I'm glad you made the road work sign now I know that it's an older road stripper but with tires not like today's machines they use tracks nice restoration, you should do a older rig with a dump trailer & back it up to this it would look cool 😎
Awesome restoration. This thing is closer to a miniature of the actual machine than a toy. Toys like this helped kids understand how.machines actually worked. You'll never see something like this made again. It probably needs to be in a museum to remind everbody you can have a toy that isn't just blow molded plastic.
It is definitely a neat toy. It is crazy how much of the toys today are made of cheap plastic. It is disappointing. I see what you are saying about the museum however, I plan to let kids play with this. It will be a fun one 👍 thanks for the comment! Have a great week!
𝑶𝑼𝑻𝑺𝑻𝑨𝑵𝑫𝑰𝑵𝑮! That is far and away the most involved Tonka/Buddy L/Structo/Nylint toy restoration I have ever seen! I can't imagine how daunting it must have been with so, so many pieces. What an absolutely 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘣 restoration. That's more than a toy; with all its moving parts and gasketed gearbox, it is a ma-CHEEN. Whatever kid had this, he was the King of the Hill. No question.
First: what marvelously complex mechanisms were found in these vintage metal toys! Decades of rationalized design, optimized for ease and economy of manufacture, makes it startling how simplified modern toy vehicles are in comparison. Second: that's a lot of rivet removal and reinstallation, straightening of metal and filling in of corrosion! The amount of patience and work and talent you pour into these restorations is remarkable And I can only imagine how much additional effort was required to so beautifully record each step - with all the positioning, lighting and camera work. With so many fake "restoration" videos on TH-cam, quality content like yours really stands out. Thank you for sharing with us your passion and talent!
Thank you very much for the comment! A lot of stuff today is made so cheaply and it is neat to bring a well built toy back to life. And yes, there was a lot of work that went into this but it was well worth it. Glad you enjoyed and thank you for the feedback! Have a great rest of your week!
It’s all a matter of cost-cutting as molded plastic is easier to mass produce than formed metal is. Look at Tonka, Nylint And Buddy L toys; very little metal nowadays… 😟
This is an absolutely go smacking restoration by a gifted craftsman. Well done on achieving such a high standard to turn a rusty wreck into a great restoration.
I’m a woodworker that is so envious of your skill and dedication. I think I could do something similar for simple projects but what you do is amazing. Well done good sir
What the hell.... How much love can you put into a restoration?! This is beautiful!!!! Extremely well done, sir, and a really nice video. Thanks for this!
I don't know how many hours it took to restore that toy but it's an amazing example of a CONCOURSE restoration. As beautiful as the day it was first sold so many years ago. Your craftsmanship and attention to details are outstanding. Thanks for sharing
Awesome job you did restoring the Traveloader. I bet restoring the front loading belt was a lot of hard work disassembling the links, cleaning off the rust, and reassembling them. It looks much better than before and it works like a charm too. I also like how you made a new sign. Excellent work.
Museum-quality restoration! Wow! I’d love to do restorations like that…just not film them. Would love to learn from you, the master of restorations. Incredible!
Yes. I have seen one of these toys before. I have a brother that used to have one. I noticed that you have a Bible verse on your sign that means "Pay it Forward." I agree. Great job. A humble Master and Professional Gardener Bernie De Lonay from "It's Not Work, It's Fun."🐦🇺🇲⚘️
The thing that amazes me about this guy is that he knows where every piece goes when he goes to put it back together. It looks like this guy even restored his own vise. I love it!
Thanks for showing so many new tools and methods for restoring these cool toys. I've seen a lot of these kinds of videos and you're the first to show the cool flaring(?) tool when making the part that held the rims together. Blessings to you and yours!
What a marvellous job! The city where I lived when I was a kid had one of these. I remember it loading snow downtown after a heavy storm. I too am fortunate enough to have one of these toys. I won't go so far as to say mine is "like new" but compared to what you started with, "like new". No rust and no signs of abuse. The only thing wrong with mine, and I believe the only thing that causes yours to be less than 100 percent is the rubber belt. I have the original belt but it is badly torn and dried out. That belt is one piece (like a rubber band) and it has cleats molded into the rubber to give the load something to hang on to. But I would be more than happy to find a belt like yours to make mine complete.
Wonderful Restoration of a Wonderful and Unique Toy. I only had a Nylint Power Shovel..I grew up with Tonka’s. I had neighborhood friends that had Nylint Models…Hough Payloader, Road Grader…
Wow! amazing work. There were so many parts. It reminds me of all the big metal trucks I used to play with at my grandparents when I was a kid. Thank you!
My grandfather's crew built many of the roads in and around dental California. My memories include equipment like this rumbling up and down the drive. I used to stand outside his machine shop watching while these were repaired and rebuilt. Good job! Keep up the good work!
FYI. Impressive performance! I will admit, the workmanship and due diligence is outstanding. The exclusive tools and methods utilized are phenomenal and unique in every endeavor and/or task being performed. Personally speaking, I really do enjoy and admire watching your masterpieces to perfection. As a kid, I do recall many of these toys in the 60s every year underneath our Christmas tree to enjoy -- especially TONKA trucks and tractors colored in yellow and GI Joes. At my age, I still own many of these wonderful toys in mint conditions and they´re not for sale! My favorite piece of my collection happens to be a Tonka steel excavator -- mean and ugly. I was offered the sum of $1,500.00 dollars for that work of art. I said, ¨thank you, but no thanks.¨ The buyer took colored pictures instead. lmao PS a subscriber in your channel
Your patience and skills to restore this Ny-Lint are extraordinary. Good call on powder coating the pitted metal parts. They came out great with the JB Weld bondo work. There is so much detail in this piece. Can you imagine the time it must have taken to form, bend, paint, and assemble this? I wonder what this toy cost back in 1954?
R&R, very nice work.. I was amazed at how many parts made up that toy.. I was trying to imagine what that would look like if I had restored it 😂.. it definitely wouldn't look like that.. Again, very nice work, thx for bringing us along... Take care brother and God Bless...
Damn dude you freaking knocked it out of the park that is bad ass! I think you are the one I talked to about a month ago about my old school American Made Solvent tank . I am about 3/4s there on getting it finished its going on my TH-cam Channel . I think you said you wanted to watch the video? Its a heavy mo fo American made Steel going to town soon to get more parts for the restoration its a total nuts and bolts electrical new pump frame up restoration . Love your build man I bet this took a long time thanks for posting
Thanks for the video. I have never seen a toy like this one. I am glad that you took the time and effort to restore it. It sure looks like a lot of work. I have never preheated my parts before painting them....................maybe I should try it out some time.
Those toys are the best! I had so many types of heavy equipment toys just like this. They taught me a lot about physics. By the time I learned about it in school it was a breeze.❤
Sooo cool! Thanks for sharing. Tell him that is the nice part about filming your process, you can always refer back to your video if you forget where a part goes. I appreciate the view. You and your nephew have a great week! 👍
Obviously it’s an edited version he wouldn’t tell you that he’s using his still camera on bit by bit segments like most of pro hobbyists do! Nevertheless he has made it good for another 75 years! Nice work.
Well; I’ve figured out why I didn’t have this one, it would have cost more than what my Dad would pay for one …… being a Machinest & teaching me what I know of the trade, he’d of said “make your own” seeing most of it is stamped out of steel ……. anyway I salute your tenacity to see the restoration thru 👍
Thanks for subscribing! I appreciate it! I am working on a Tonka Camper Truck. Hopefully video will be out by the beginning of October. Have a blessed day!
What an amazing job!! I got one of these for Christmas in 1956 and completely wore it out! I was 4 years old. I got into restoring old farm and construction toys about 20 years ago and have restored 2 of those travel loaders but could never find where to find a belt. Where did you find it? I bought a travel loader on a estate auction in mint condition and it still has the original price tag on it for 9.98 😱. Really enjoy your video and you do awesome work!!! God bless and hope to see more 🙏👍
Very cool! Interesting on the original price. Thank you! I found the belt on eBay for around $30 plus shipping I believe. I appreciate the feed back and comment. Have a blessed day!
That was an amazing beautiful job, and cripes that machine is complicated - it must have been an expensive toy at the time. Anyway - beautifully put together video - everything perfectly explained and clear. Many thanks. Tom (from France).

Yes
Where do you find stuff like this?
This was bought at a yard sale.
Fantastic job!! I worked for the DOT so, I've seen plenty of these bad boys. Just subbed.
I was trying to figure out what that was but I'm glad you made the road work sign now I know that it's an older road stripper but with tires not like today's machines they use tracks nice restoration, you should do a older rig with a dump trailer & back it up to this it would look cool 😎
Not only was this a beautiful restoration of a toy but having seen the real thing in action made it even better.

what an amazing job. People don't realize just how time consuming it is to restore a toy like this.
again great job
Thank you very much! I should have kept track of the time I spent. It was a decent amount! Thanks for watching and have a great Easter!
I love this one, saw so many when I was a kid then ended up helping rebuild roads and highways, loved it! Miss the smell of the fresh pavement
That is awesome! Thanks for the comment!

This restoration was not easy. You have restored it most meticulously. Keep up the good work. 😊
Thank you for the kind words! I really appreciate it.
75-100 years from now when someone else finds this in a yard sale box they too will be able to appreciate the American heritage! Nicely done! Wow!
Thanks much!! 100 years from now it may need restored again! 👍

I wish they still made construction toys to this quality now. Instead of the plastic garbage we have today.
Agreed! Thanks for watching
why are you saying that
It’s all a matter of cost-cutting as molded plastic is easier to mass produce than formed metal is. Look at Tonka, Nylint And Buddy L toys; very little metal nowadays… 😟
Mas brinquedos assim são perigosos para crianças...
This is an absolutely go smacking restoration by a gifted craftsman. Well done on achieving such a high standard to turn a rusty wreck into a great restoration.
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed
That toy must have been the coolest in 1954😍
Agree!
It would have been the coolest in 1964, 1974, and 1984!
Yes, saw the mouse. Either it’s a family pet or an AI input. Beautiful work and so MANY parts. Great job and patience.
Thank you so much! And good eye spotting the mouse!

This has to be 100 hours on just the filler. I'd love to do this but that's a lot of work. Outstanding as usual.
Thank you very much! It took some time! 👍 have a great week!
I _love_ the restoration of complex mechanical devices -- including, but not only, toys. Thank-you for this video!
Thanks much! Glad you enjoyed
The road sign is a nice touch to an excellent restoration.

I really appreciate when someone does the work to get rid of the pits.
Pitting is the worst!
I would have Loved to have had this one as a child, this is a first seeing something like this, really neat and Different. Nice job mate. Cheers.
Hard to believe my eyes. Talent from God. You are an amazing person! Rebuilt and restore guy for president😆

Thank you very much! I appreciate it. Preheating the parts definitely has helped me with my cheap powder coating set up. Have a great day!
Now it is ready for another kid to enjoy. Looks great. You don't see many of those any more.
You are right. Thanks much!! Have a great day!
Those toys are the best! I had so many types of heavy equipment toys just like this. They taught me a lot about physics. By the time I learned about it in school it was a breeze.❤
Simply another beautiful restoration.
Many thanks!
Wow. What a craftsman. Very nicely done.

Nice job. I didn’t have high hopes when you started but it looks excellent.
I appreciate it! Thanks for sticking with me!
The amount of care in this restoration is incredible!

A beautiful restoration sir beautifuly done u did a awesome job on it looks very nice 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you! I appreciate it! Have a great day!
I played with these kind of toys growing up. They made them to last back then. Sold all my Tonka toys to my uncle after mom and dad passed away.
Showed your video to a 9 year old nephew. He was fascinated and asked me "HOW DOES HE REMEBER WHERE WHICH PART HAS TO BE ASSEMBLED?"
Nice work.
I definitely had to edit the video! Thanks!

Patience and skill wow ! I love these restaurations
Very nice job

Wow! What an undertaking, but your hard work paid off. Awesome job!

A complicated and lengthy restoration but a beautiful result, you would never know it was 70 years old .
Thank you very much! Thankfully I was able to get it back together lol
Cool, awesome job. 😀👍

Hello mister beautiful restoration beautifully restored good job well done

Lol he has been in different videos of mine. 👀
Antique?? 1954?? That happens to be my birth year!!
Antiques are 100 plus years old.
Great restoration job, I don't believe I would have the patience to do that. Lol
Great restoration, and I love the sign
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed! Have a great day!!

Great work on a beautiful old toy! Great John 3:16 sign, too! Cheers!😁🔧🤟🛠️
Thanks 👍 have a great week!
I enjoy watching your work, you are very talented. This toy has a lot of parts, I don’t understand how you can remember where they go.
I had one of those. Lots of memories. The front spiral wasn’t bent. That’s the way it was built.
Lol awesome
Awesome job new subscriber i look foward to watching more of your videos.
Nice work!
Thank you!
That was freakin awesome to see such an amazing toy being restored and probably works better than it did new. Great job
Thank you very much!
You literally went ABOVE And BEYOND. Great job sir.🤔🤠👍⭐🇺🇲
Wow, thanks! I appreciate it! Have a good week!
I had that very same thing when I was about 8yo. I wouldn't be surprised if that was it.
Very cool!
That was an amazing beautiful job, and cripes that machine is complicated - it must have been an expensive toy at the time. Anyway - beautifully put together video - everything perfectly explained and clear. Many thanks. Tom (from France).
Thank you, I appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed! Have a great day!
WOW A JOB WELL DONE
Thank you!

U could say it was in a realistic condition to began with, i mean that's how any 70years old heavy machinery would look. Also there's a surprising amount of thought went in to this toy, that u rarely see today.
It looks great and you did a wonderful job restoring it as well!!!! And great job making the road sign!!
I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up

I used to maintain & repair old heavy equipment like this. (Real equipment, not toys) My favorite was a 1961 Adams A-Frame Road Grader. 100% mechanical, no hydraulics... It was so easy to work on! We kept it alive & running into the early 2000s. Most of the parts were obsolete by then. We gave it a Viking send-off... 😂
Thanks for sharing and very cool!! Working on the real thing, you are at the NEXT level! Thanks for watching.
So, either it ended up on a barge, in a large body of water, or was set ablaze by a fire tipped arrow, or both...I prefer both.
@@BazerrkInsaneAsylum Actually, we blew it up. 😁
@@j.l.emerson592 kinda like my avatar! The cat blew up a tree to get to the squirrel!
Thanks for sharing love this video from junk to stunning hard work paid off
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
Reminds me of my childhood back in the 70s. All the steel trucks we had.
Not only was this a beautiful restoration of a toy but having seen the real thing in action made it even better.
Thanks and glad you enjoyed!
Good Job ✌🏼
Thank you very much @MWRestoration
