Such clean and simple lines. Even parked on the ground you can sense its capacity for excellent maneuverability and high performance characteristics. No wonder allied pilots expressed grim admiration for this aircraft.
Not just Messerschmitt, the entire German aircraft industry is gone. Think of Focke-Wulf, Heinkel, Junkers, Dornier, Arado, etc. The factories were destroyed during the war and the designers had to find work elsewhere, like Tank, who went to Argentina. I know some of these companies made brief comebacks, but it was not the same, and while the construction of Panzers and U-Boats continues (mainly for the lucrative weapons export business) the construction of airplanes is a Pan-European project that produces ridiculous amounts of 4th generation planes that are simply made to keep these industries going and the trade unions happy.

Great looking plane, and sound. Again some skipping in the video though, like starting at 4:42 minute mark. Maybe some over-active image stabilisation?

@CTizer90 Thank you! My favorite is the G-6. I knew it was the most produced, but didn't know that pilots preferred the G2. Thanks for letting me know!

danke. das bleibt spannend
Great sounds, thanks for sharing. Best wishes from NZ🇳🇿
greetings back from germany
Something about that Daimler... damn it sounds good!! Just different!
It sounds harsher than a Merlin. This was noted during the war.
Is it because of the lower octane fuel the Germans had?
Beauties😍😍 id love to fly in one! Greetings from Slovakia!!!
It is such a nice Bird.
not nice AWESOME
Yes...they BOTH are, but as a purist, I prefer the Daimler- powered ‘8’, over the Merlin-powered ‘27’.
