Body care will always be my first love, but I only got candles if someone gave them to me when I was younger. In my late 20s I discovered the appeal. The soothing flame, the scents, and I fell in LOVE for the very first time with I believe it was called Caramel Brûlee Latté (the jar had wildlife all over it, I actually kept it and I keep my hand creams on my vanity in it!!) and then a Champagne Toast candle.
I want to say it was Fall 2021. Candles were Buy 2 Get 2 Free and I had (miraculously it seems hah!) a coupon for a free 3 wick.
And there starts the full throttle 😂🤣

I’ve swapped to a candle warming lamp instead of burning them since they keep bringing back the same scents. I only need one, two max, of a candle. They still spread throughout the house, but I can reuse them for years.

There were quite a few candles I was interested in this year, as a freshie lover. I just didn't get that many candles this year because frankly times are tough these days and its easier to focus just on body care. If i got all the candles I wanted I'd be broke and have to stack candles on my bed.

2023 was not the best year for Bath and Body works. I’m a gourmond girl and aside from ILPC, I wasn’t terribly excited about much.
I will say, I STOCKED UP on Blueberry Marshmallow Bar. That one is my favorite!!

Candle storage became a major problem for me this year. I bought out 3 stores’ supplies of both Sweet Tea & Lemonade and Pistachio Ice Cream. Since then I have only gotten Feliz Navidad, which I intend to keep for collection purposes only.

YES! I love the Michaels 5.99 warmer for single wick and the beautiful lamp that went viral for 3 wicks. They last forever!

Exactly! Good to use especially when you have small little children and you don't want them to light your candles at a certain times .

The online shipping charges are absolutely ridiculous for consumers who are unable to get to stores. It really deters someone for making purchases. I have also been disappointed by the labels, they are just becoming generic looking.
I loved Sailing in the Mediterranean! Filled my entire apartment! Riviera Petals was another fave along with Fresh Cut Lilacs, Strawberry Poundcake. I got the Sweet tea in the hand sanitizer…almost too strong! Good but a little too strong but great for an open space dining/kitchen.
I have a hard time nailing down a least favorite because I don’t buy what I don’t like, so I will choose two favorites- Midnight Cocktails & Happy Hanukkah.
Ooo a saved video of yours I never watched! For me it was the opposite kind of. I always prefer winter and fall over spring and summer scent wise but for whatever reason spring and summer I was getting great throws. Once fall came I Wasn't smelling any of my candles. No one in my house could smell anything. Since candle day I've been getting way better throws again! Yay
Favorite new candle was pink lavender and espresso.
I've got a question for everyone: do u burn one candle at a time completely, then start burning a new candle? Or do u burn a few different ones on rotation depending on your mood?

I will have about 8 going and light them depending on my mood till I complete them. I dont put partially burned candles back in my collection unless it's like thanksgiving and I cant seem to get that one stubborn Halloween candle finished up! 😅 lol So I may have like 3 burned ones in my collection total.

Least: A LOT. lol I returned/exchanged a lot of candles this year.
Best by far - Sunset Desert. My new favorite fragrance at BBW. Hope it's brought back!

I believe you forgot Pink Lavender & Espresso, Vanilla& Musk, Palo Santo & Sage, Palo Santo & Vanilla of the neutral collection that came out early like February
A few others that were good and not mentioned were Santorini Coast, Fresh Amalfi Lemon, Cozy Sunday Evening, Cocoa Roasted Chestnuts, Raspberry Thumbprint, Fall Forest , Wild Berry & Ube.
Honestly, I felt that this was a great year for new scent releases.

Yeah she forgot a lot of candles. I'm SCREAMING at the names to my laptop to her. She's just upset that foody/gourmount candles didn't come out. I feel like that really upset her until fall when she said the candles were "OK" because of course, some of them were foody. But I also loved Pink Lavender and Espresso!!

I know for sure I will be going to candle day next year since I skipped this year just because I want to work on my stash a little longer it can get overwhelming so I have wax bars and bricks to make more space and donate my empty jars for schools that want them for craft purposes as well so I don't think as myself a collector I do burn all my stuff but having alot jars does make person look like a collector but I do let go of the jars .
This is a much better and kinder idea than throwing away the jars. At the very least, people could donate them instead of tossing them. So much waste. I'm new to my candle journey so I haven't finished a single candle yet but I plan on doing similar for used candle jars.
Candles are always hit-or-miss, so I accept that and it's fun to try new things. The only candle from Candle Day that I was annoyed with was Into the Night because I wondered why it smelled so perfume-y (with none of the sweetness that the other Into the Night products have). Then I checked the candle notes, and it has "creamy musk" instead of the "mocha musk" that's in all of the other Into the Night products. I have no idea why they'd change the scent of the candle, but I'm returning the 4 that I got for Candle Day.
My favorites of the year were Luminous and Crunchy English Toffee, which was such a surprise for me (it's a true delicious toffee scent without the weird note that scents like Pumpkin Pecan Waffles has for me).
The only other random complaint I have is that the new candles that launched on Saturday for Candle Day arrived with quality issues. Many had the wax falling out of the jar in an entire block, and Candy Cane Colada arrived with the wax loose and smeared all over the jar.
I missed out on the $10 3-wick candles a couple of weeks ago but I did get on the single wick sale
❤️ the aromatherapy candles a few other scented candles . Waiting on the annual sale to see what candles . They will have on sale .
Oh yeah that's right, I was looking for Flower Cart in the candle!!!!!! I couldn't find it anywhere in Canada so maybe we didn't get that as a candle ? So sad. I absolutely loved the wallflower!!!!!

Oh no!
Just got an email apologizing for the delay due to increased demand and they will arrive by 12/22! That doesn’t help because these were for personal use not gifts. I would only need 1 Christmas candle to use now. I’ll be returning more than a few candles. I ordered online because they closed the store in my mall (in a big city by the way…the 2nd largest in CT) and moved it to a new mall in a town 15 mins away. 👎🏻
Apart from candle day, what it. the best price on 3 wick canddles we can expect the rest of the year?
You forgot about the gemstone collection. The amethyst dreams, sapphire something, tea rose I think was the pink one, and there was a green one.
I liked the purple one amethyst dreams but that was the only one liked.
I loved the sweet tea and lemonade candle that they had for summertime too.
I hope they bring it back too I stocked up on soap and candles for that one.
Bought this year because of your videos. Then I found out my sister does buy these and burns them. I don't burn candles but I may start. Haha
I live out in the country so it's really too far for me to drive to the store so I ordered online during the $9.95 sale I got so many candles that were not poured right. I got the jolly elf broke which they replaced and the perfect season with the reindeer on it seems like they couldn't get that sent poured right? It looked messy in the back of the jar. Oh, and I got 2 of the hot Coco candles. They were totally ruined in the back meaning they weren't poured right It was all smeared inside the candle.
I was disappointed because I waited so long for these and then they look like this. They made him good but by the time I called the next day to we get a replacement. A lot of them were out of stock. So was disappointed on this because I had planned on giving some out for gifts.
But let me tell you Bath& Body Works wouldn't be having issues if they would learn how to package their candles right when they ship them. They just throw them in a box. Toss them. May throw in a puff bag that is totally worthless and it's a wonder at Halloween. When I started buying these I didn't get any broke then.
The cartons that each of the candles are in are very thin and flimsy they are put in there. We're like you can see the bottom of the name but you can't tell with the candle is till you open it up. Really they should consider having the open cartons like Goose Creek does that would be the best for them?
I wish I live closer so I could shop at the store but anyway they need to rethink their packaging and shipping these out.
I have my favorites i buy every year so ill buy those irregardless of new scents: Fiji white sands, tiki beach, sweet red mango, Ghoulfriend, marshmallow Fireside. Those are winners to me. Maybe a limoncello as well
My favourite is raspberry thumprint. Tie with Hannukah and pumpkin cinamin bun. Least fave was hmmm ...Elf in the shelf. Yuk. Took it back.
My 2023 faves: Iced Lemon Poundcake, PBJ Ice Cream, Happy Hanukkah, and Raspberry Thumbprint.
Apricot and fig was one of my favorites for this year surprised me.
My favorite candle was the Hanukka candle. Such a realistic donut smell with an excellent throw. My least favorite was palo santo and sage.
Salted amber and vetiver was my favorite new one of the year

Sunset Desert is my absolute favorite scent I hope it make a comback
Sour melon drop is another candle that was good (summer candle)
To me blue jasmine and current smelled exactly like dream bright. I’ve learned from watching Bonnie that every nose is different, though. Thanks for the fun recap.
Merry cookies & butterfly are very good. I didn’t like Japanese cherry blossom. I have 19 more to go 😮

I liked the Amethyst Dreams candle. The Pumpkin Peanut Brittle was strong and good, even in the singke wick. I disliked the Suntan candle the most.

Wasnt a fan of the latter half of this year..
Even though fall and winter is my favorite. I had good throws through spring and summer. come fall i couldn't smell any of the new candles. They switched to those skinny pencil dick wicks and started dudding out like crazy. I hope this isnt going to continue. But i know they dont listen to their customers.. hence they are discontinuing mason jars and going wide with signature single wicks even though everyone hates them and cant smell them at all 🤦🏻♀️ they dont care.. until they notice they lose money from their decisions!
Scentwise it was okay, lot of repackages.. pink lavender and espresso was the stand out. Then again its pretty much just lavender marshmallow 😂 vanilla and musk and sunset desert were my favorite repackages this year:) i hope they bring more woody musky scents out like that

The foodie candles probably don't sell well in general, that's probably y they not coming w much of them. I hate foodie candles. Lol

I don't like foodie candles either. Make me want to eat what I am smelling. Lol
I picked a lackluster year to immerse myself into B&BW it seems, but I did still find plenty to love. Watermelon and Wild Mint in that tropical packaging is amazzzing! I have backups on backups and can't wait to use it this spring and summer. The throw is out of this world!
I hope they hear our cries and give us all the gourmands (both in candles and body care) in 2024. I need to feel excited again after all these meh Christmas releases.
