    Trapping glitter is my husband's solution. Trap and release into a trashcan, that is! Now I can release my inner glitter girl and keep the peace and harmony flowing! Thanks for a beautiful solution, Natasha.

    Please don’t apologize! I appreciate seeing somebody using a stamp set multiple times for a change as it’s my reality. I don’t waste my money on things, using them only once as many TH-camrs seem to do.

      Most youtubers are nothing more than a commercial to buy the latest new stamp or die or gadget. It’s refreshing to watch someone that doesn’t try to sell anything but rather shows techniques that we all can do with what we have.

    Hi Natasha, thanks for sharing! I love how your cards have turned out - they’re gorgeous - and I also love that once again you have reminded me to use products I haven’t used for a long time! Utee is such fun to use, and I’ve never thought of using it to hold down glitter 👍🏼. I have used it with glitter, but slightly differently. I’ve sprinkled a little glitter into a layer of molten utee, and then continued by dropping several more layers of utee on top. If you sprinkle utee over still molten utee, then you don’t need to use your Versamark pad each time, and you’re less likely to make the careless error I made when I tried to put more Versamark ink onto utee that was still too hot 🥵 - half of my Versamark pad remained embedded into the utee - not a good look in either direction! 🤣😂. If you do use several layers of utee though and have some glitter in the first layer, it gives you real depth and you feel like you’re looking down into something trapped down in the layers - fun! You can also use utee directly onto cut out shapes - die cuts of very thick card work well and you get a something where the edges are beautifully rounded - like an enamelled pin, or brooch - gorgeous!!

  • @annekeschep8148
    @annekeschep8148 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Both ways are just brilliant (pun intended!) and I have to give both a try. I think the thick embossing powder on top of the glitter gave extra depth, looked stunning. But the red ombré had the glitter structure, which is stunning as well. So depending on the effect I want, I can choose the technique. As others mentioned, you are brilliant!!
    I also read a comment using a laminator, and I definitely want to try that too. Thank you for sharing all these wonderful ideas 👍👍👍

  • @Obsidian_Iris_
    @Obsidian_Iris_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Great idea Natasha! I wonder if you can make a sheet of this and once it completely cools, die cut it? If so, the potential is enormous! The texture reminds me of enamel dots, so a die that makes small circles (or squares, stars, triangles, ... ) can make custom enamel dots. The thought of black holographic glitter “enamel” is particularly swoon inducing! It may even be possible to adhere it to double sided adhesive sheets before die cutting for convenience. Unless you’re using Stick It adhesive, it may be prudent to use a lighter/thinner cardstock, maybe 65 lbs. or around 120 gsm. I’m definitely going to try this tomorrow! Thanks again for another of your genius ideas, Natasha!

    I have sprinkled glitter on top of emossing powder. They stick very strongly. I used the technique to mix gold and red on holiday cards, but a colored glitter with clear embossing power also works well. I generally have used a sticky glue powder to be used with glitter. First VersaMark ink, then glue-powder, then melt, then sprinkle glitter, then melt a little bit again. But the glue-powders can be expensive for a large project. I like your idea of using the Ultra Thick Embossing power. I have a jar of it and will try it out. Your cards are beautiful and I like it that you use the same stampsets over and over in so many different creative designs. :-) Thank you for sharing.

    Beautiful cards!! I've mixed glitter in EPs before, & stored in an empty EP jar, & also used a heat & bond type powder, but those can be tricky. I love that you show ways to use what you have & also other ways to use UTEE. Mine has been in storage for some time now & is very old. I bought it to do a cracked glass technique, & also did a technique where while it was still hot you Inked a rubber stamp in black, & stamped down into the hot powder so it was similar to doing a wax seal. You can also do it with regular EP if you do about 3 layers. I have a dog tag punch, & used silver EP like that then punched with a dog tag shaped punch on a 6x6 scrapbook page when my son was in the army. I'd love to see a video on various ways to use UTEE. the cracked glass technique was to stamp whatever you wanted, or don't stamp, just coat the cs with versamark, then UTEE & heat. Repeat at least twice, it may have been more layers. Then put it in the freezer for I'm guessing 15-20 minutes. Take it out & start cracking the UTEE by holding parts between your finger of both hands, & snapping it, like you'd snap off a piece of a chocolate bar or something. The powder will break. Do small sections at different angles. Then use a sponge or something to sponge on some brown, or black dye ink, then rub it off with a tissue. It should come off the top, but still be down in the cracks. Wow, that was long. You are probably familiar with the technique, but hope it made sense if you haven't done it lol
