    Hello- I have a question about the signal extenders. My parents live across the street from my building at 651 Broderick St. and I am moving into 654 Broderick St. My parents already have AT&T service Uverse service for the Internet & Cable service with a new T-Mobile Extender for their cell phone service in the home. Will this sharing scenario work for me? Do I need to get another extender in my condo and if so what type of service extender would you recommend?

      not knowing the set up it is hard to say, but one thing you can try is buying some different things from Costco or amazon and see if they work, if not, box them back up and return them. Good luck

    My dad has that spectrum option bc hes in michigan - im an hour outside of chicago and currently have comcast - but there is the catch - a person who also lives in the house (me nor him are owners - the 3rd guy is) gets mad all the time and takes the router away or blocks us (me and the owner) when he gets mad. This is the age of covid - i just confirmed i have covid and tested bc of a combination of head cold and pressurized lungs - shortness of breath - I am not going to blame the person but the only time i left the house was to use the internet where I could on my phones wifi - I have also had to take almost a week off of work as i did not have internet to work from home. What is my best option if my job does involve medium streaming (video of stuff and recording of myself during meetings outside of zoom on proprietary setup for our UK office)? Is it possible to have two ISP providers in one household - without tethering phone - i guess im asking if ATT and another --- Comcast /cox / whoever can both be used in one house. The phone option sounds like a good idea also - but can i get enough data to stream youtube level streaming without worry? I am in a place where i dont know what to do - and i have to quarenteen for 14 days - I dont want to lose my job bc i can do nothing beyond text and check my emails - working from home requires me to stream and be on meetings and when it comes to clients i have a streaming are built in a detached garage home office designed to do client presentations in HD with XLR audio via OBS. I cant cancel the persons internet whos there - is there a way I can have another service?

    • @thecheapguy6825
      @thecheapguy6825  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You absolutely can have two different lines, but you can also have two routers on the same line. That would be the cheapest solution, get another router and set up with the modem. If he blocks you remotely on one, he won't be able to block you on the other. If he is physically taking it then getting another line put in in a room that you could lock would be my idea. You can go with a separate provider or just get another line with the same one, it does not really matter. Sorry you are living with such immaturity, and sorry you got covid. Hopefully you recover soon, keep your job, and work out reliable internet.

To join the program you must: be in a family that receives NSLP national school program, or supplemental security income SSI (over age 65). The program is called Assist as it is a government supported program to assist people and families on welfare.

    If you are a senior or a person who make less than 130% of the federal poverty line and get state aid and other low income programs like getting head start of the reduce school lunch program you can qualify for reduced income access thru ATT or Comcast for $10 a month. Also you can go further and qualify maybe from a federal program to give you free that right free internet or a 200 mins a month cell phone or a 200 mins or so land line for free. Lifeline and www.usac.org/. Pro tip from me who gets ATT and had comcast. If you are on comcast apply to the ATT access for $10 comcast will not let current customers go to the program. Also don't get a land line you can get only internet if you stick to your guns tell them no land line I can not afford it and the will give you just DSL ATT internet for $10. I imagine the same when getting service thru Comcast. Remember internet only not a $25 plan for basic cable on top of the $9.95 internet connection.

      they often do not advertise the assist program, so you have to search for it. It shows up if your neighborhood automatically qualifies, otherwise you have to qualify based on income. I had to send in a form for my mother. And then had to follow up with a couple of phone calls. They make it difficult sometimes.

    You failed to stress that Spectrum Assist ( your tip #2) is ONLY for families on welfare .. For families not on welfare the lowest rate is about $50. a month.. I assume the government that funds the lower cost for welfare families hopes to put more of us on welfare to reap the benefits.
