Making Geometry Dash Effects with 1,000 Groups

- In this video, I made backgrounds in the Geometry Dash level editor, using as many groups as possible. It's impossible to use over 1,000 groups in a level, because the game either crashes or just sets it back to 999, but it's unrealistic to do so anyway, because of the lag caused by the number of objects

12:01 There was earlier updates which allowed you to make groups past 1,000, this was patched in the 2.113 Update, or you just be GD Colon and edit it using something.
why rob patched that, the world may never know
More than 1000 makes it NA
And using it causes a crash.
In 2.2, the groups limit will not be 1,000 anymore.

Meanwhile Wulzy:
Most of the time, less is more, as most of these effects weren’t optimized and wouldn’t work in an actual level.

I also love how you could totally do most of these backgrounds with like 5% of the groups used

2.2 was said to have 10000 groups but robtop confirmed that there will be infinite groups

OK, so for the object, line, etc colours, in the game they are just called by labels (obj, 3dl, line, etc) but they actually use colours 1000-1007 or something in the code, i dont know why chasm has the numbers displayed but its probably a visual bug

11:51 GD uses the colors 1000-1010 for things such the BG, G1 & G2, OBJ, P1 & P2 and the default sawblade color, etc

i made a cool trasition with about 10 groups.... it doesnt even look that cool tbh but im new to decoration stuff. Its just a black wall and text made with small blocks (text says: Cool Level), the block bounce up a bit and then go X -100 or something while fading out

If you set a pulse trigger to any of the channels with a name (obj, bg, ground, etc) itll show on the trigger as just a group ID. probably just a bug that rob forgot to fix lol

There was a bug when you copy+paste a pulse trigger set to bg (or something like that) it will change to group 1000,this bug was patched
