This man was straight up about the music. Loved the fact that he didn't see the race thing. All about the music. My man Mr David Sanborn. RIP. You will be surely missed by fans all over.
David Sanborn was the soundtrack of my life in the 70's, especially living in NYC, and listening to WRVR...He seemed to be playing on everyone's records...but what I forgot was that he was with the 2nd version of The Paul Butterfield Blues Band ...The Album "The Legend of Pig Boy Cranshaw is one of my faves...I could listen to that band's version of "Driving Wheel" over and over and over again...Good Stuff!...Thanks, David for the great musical memories...they will always be in my head.
It's wonderful to experience Jazz this way on You tube its fabulous to have the internet available to be there in the midst of the performances we have a front row seat PERFECT I LOVE CLAPTON
The decades of mr. Miller's jams is inspiring. And ms. Wilson's voice, ahe could sing to me allllll day. Sanborn is slammin, and Clapton was killin. Clapton had to love have that kind of allstar rhythm section behind him. So much class here! Somebody bring it back together!
Tremendously fantastic show, blend of music and guests, Eric, classic, David, Marcus, first gig with Miles, Cassandra, I must played Crossroad Blues on acoustic so much over the years, mixture of classic Cream and acoustic blues & slide. I wish I viewed this on New Years Eve, 1998, I certainly respected and loved all on this show.❤😊 Thank You, David and Eric. Peace and Ecology. 🇨🇦☮️🙏🍏🌈 Bless United Kingdom, Canada and closest neighbours America.
I would love to be just a sideman grooving, jamming, and most of all. Learning from each and everyone of these masters of the art gift and just this such wonderful Gift from THE MOST HIGH GOD, JESUS IS HIS NAME. BE BLESSED ONE AND ALL.
I know i am big time nerd to even think about it in the first place but it's a bit odd seeing Steve Gadd behind a red Pearl kit and NOT a black Yamaha kit!! I'm aware he's using Gene Lake's kit here still it's a bit odd to me :D
Don Alias emoted so beautifully with the brushes, and Gene Lake was very tasteful with the percussion. The both of them definitely highlighted this wonderful arrangement.
I didn't know Steven Baldwin played guitar. Also watch as he grooves his ass off on every song. I get the biggest kick outta just watching this dude groove. Check him out at 3:50 he looks like he's hobblin around like the hunchback of Notredame

Rest in Peace ! Missed, Loved, and so Appreciated. Your gift you shared with the world will live on.
I was just telling a band member last Thursday about me seeing this show back in 1998-99!
Rest In Peace and Love, David Sanborn.
Wow wow wow!!! I'll Take You There was friggin epic. And you can sometimes forget a bit how great Clapton is until you see him play live.
Love you David! Thank you so very much for your musical legacy!!

Man, this is some severe dope. Even the hip hop sounded great!!
Yes !
Marcus keeping that bottom tight!!!!
Why did these hip hop guys appeared here at all? The Agenda was already functioning back then?
Notice how the great Steve Gadd alters his drumming style with more than hint of 'Ginger Baker' when they play "The Sunshine of My Life"
Sorry, "Sunshine of my Love"
how come Use Me is not on this? its on the dvd
Sounds like John Mayer playing guitar! Edit: Not Clapton, the house guitarist!

It's an Xotic guitar. Either an XS or XSC model. Hope that helps!
Its Dean Brown .....Dean Brown ya'll
It's a Roland G505!
@@jjmacaliester203 thanks
gene lake on drums
He was also very sleek and tasteful on percussion for Tutu, as was Alias on the drums. Both of them really enhanced that arrangement.
What is the name of the Tom Snyder Late Late Show theme and is it available on an album?
Little bit suprised to see gangstarr in a concert like this haha

I didn't know Steven Baldwin played guitar. Also watch as he grooves his ass off on every song. I get the biggest kick outta just watching this dude groove. Check him out at 3:50 he looks like he's hobblin around like the hunchback of Notredame
I think his appearance and playing is annoying and out of context...in everything I've heard him in.... 😅
Who’s that on keys .??????
not Steve Gadd bro
Well, that one guy is, but the other one isn't :)
My bad you are correct sir I didn't watch the whole thing
