I had been living in Metro Manila since 1980 and so far I have not experienced bad things against me. But I did see a pickpocketer in Blumentritt many years ago. But even in Frankfurt Germany I was robbed in a swimming pool. So always be safe in anywhere we are. Nice vlog Nelly.

I’m a Filipino American and living in the States for 47 years. Years ago it was very safe to live in America, now time have changed drastically. It’s not safe to raise your children in America anymore. The crime rate, the drugs issue, Politics, Racial tensions, road rage 😡 and just to name a few. America has been turned upside down! For the people who doesn’t know the Philippines this is a normal reaction and impression.

This might sound like preaching but Blame it to the downhilling of morals of preceeding generations. Each preceeding Generation before a certain one singled out had slashed down on observing what could be considered moral hedges. That modifies the social paradigm each time, and there's a certain inversed proportion to the consequences of extreme degrees of moral liberties we were risking on..
This means we have respect for white and black ladies they are nice to foreign women to thus helping our govt. in tourism industry its normal here being friendly kind and the hospitability you can feel you are very welcome in this tiny country...
It's safer in the Philippines than in the States. There's always shooting, road rage, stalking, and rude people around. The other day, there was a man with a gun went to the hospital and threatening the front desk. Police were called and immediately he was arrested! People are always concerns about our safety everyday here in USA.
For me, one serious barometer to know how safe is a place, or a country, is to equally ask how safe to raise a kid or a family in that city or country. And one big question, is to ask how safe are the kids in its enviroment, specially in its schools. Here ihe U.S., the news about school shooting incidents is no longer extra shocking, but a little of a new normal. So, based on that premise alone, I still see the Philippines as a better and safer place to visit. Of course, just like in any country in general, women either foriegn or local should be smart enough not to stroll at night alone unscorted.

Have you ever visited Southern Luzon, Bicol Region, Albay, Legazpi City, Philippines where the world's most perfect-coned Mayon Volcano and black sand beaches are attracting lots of adventurous people? Manila is the major the airport where all foreigners land but we also have our Bicol International Airport here.
cat calling is a crime now in the Philippines also known as safe space act. If you have experienced something like this, you can report that to authorities.
yup general rule of thumb if your a visitor, avoid going in poorly lit areas, shady area. and always carry some kind of protection also general awareness to your surroundings.. specially if your a woman
europe is a very beautiful place no doubt but my good there are times where i felt so unsafe: In Amsterdam @ night (while i was omw to the hotel dragging my luggage), Italy (i was followed in Milan after having dinner w/ friends, almost pickpocketed in rome and no one said anything), catcalled in Paris I JUST CANNOT.
its funny that foreigners tend to single out bgc and makati as the safest places. yes there are place where it is not recommended to walk around. But generally, the Philippines is really safe wherever you go. Just saying.
i live here in mindanao and i will you this it is not safe for foreign women at night in rural neighborhoods, its in the cities of mindanao where you are marginally safer in most and very safe in a few cities especially Davao city
