When we see first see the high-piled bloody dishes, many are white china or enamel, probably a choice made to make the blood stand out. When Deacon is washing up, the clean dishes are mostly glassware, nicely catching the light. Cool detail I never noticed before, so thank you!

You've seen Cohen Holloway in a third thing! He was in Boy, as one of Alamein's hapless mates in the 3-person gang. Stu's cameo role in Boy was playing one of the prison guards in Boy's fantasy vignette of his father's valiant escape from prison, the one who gets taken out by a spoon. 😂
Cameras generally don't use mirrors to capture images, so there is no issue filming or photographing vampires (although optical viewfinders do use a mirror - so you won't be able to see the vampire through the viewfinder when you take its picture). Periscopes on the other hand do contain mirrors, so vampires can be quite effective at sneaking up on submarines.

Some of the members banded together to pay for a Rhys Cameo to ask what Anton's surname was. Turns out it's Anderson. Also, this reminded me about my werewolves, not swearwolves pin. I really need to wear it more often.

I adore Stu--the film's technology mentor, action hero, martyr, and diplomat--just a wonderful character played by an introverted non-actor! Taika was one of Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential in 2022, and he took Stu as his plus-one to the Gala. In the film, Stu was brought to the Unholy Masquerade as a plus-one. 😅
This movie is so much fun and loved your reaction. Really enjoyed the trivia and behind the scenes. A few things I knew but most I didn't. AND you did manage to answer something that has been driving me crazy for years. I was so sure that I had watched this and talked about it with my mother but she died in 2011 so that was impossible. Thought I had lost my mind. BUT it was the 2005 short we watched! Thank you for that. Side note - highly recommend the AMC series Interview with the Vampire. Best show on television, way better than the movie. So worth it. And werewolves not swearwolves always lol.

Wellington Paranormal is a joy and more people need to see it. I love Minogue and O'Leary with all my heart! She had what I consider one of the funniest lines in the film; Deacon says the vampire hunter's soul is in hell, and O'Leary (who has been hypnotized and thinks he's passed out drunk) replies, 'Well I don't know *where* his soul is, all I'm saying is where's his blanket.'

Especially from a comedy point of view. I don't think I needed to know any of the tropes, but do feel like I know some stuff about vampires (again, not that it's needed at all, as this is a horror comedy) Thanks for watching anyway

I know he said he wouldn't do that to him and then later mentioned the chips thing... but I was fairly sure Stu didn't mind being his friend in general.
@@MoviesWithMartyYou're right that Vlad didn't hypnotize the guy. He failed with the first person he tried it on, and he had to punch the window to get the guy to look up. Then he did another dramatic little 'See, I'm totally hypnotizing him' bit for the documentary cameras. The joke is that he's totally inept at it. 😅 Viago's anxiety about being able to hypnotize the police is such a funny callback, because it worked perfectly. When Nick tries it on Stu, it works (the thing he said he wouldn't do to Stu is eat him). In an early Wellington Paranormal episode, Nick makes an appearance, and successfully casts a glamour on Officer O'Leary and Officer Minogue. It's possible they're easy to hypnotize... 😂
I loved this movie but when I started watching the series it just felt like a worse version. Perhaps I should have given it more of a chance and watched more episodes before giving up?
Believe me, I also gave up watching it after about 3-4 episodes. I knew the movie quite well, and it seemed to me that the series was just repeating the jokes from the film (but only at the beginning). And I'm happy that I was encouraged to continue watching. Since then, I've watched the series at least twice (and will watch it again before season 6) You will love them! p.s.But the film will always be better (for me)
@@donkfail1 From my own (& a few friends experience), I recommend checking out a few more episodes from different seasons...too buzzed from the party @ moment to be more specific, but the 1 that even my poor brain (lofl!) flashed was near or close to the end of season 1 title something like "the Vampiric Council"...a bunch of amazing cameos featuring actors who'd played vampires in a variety of the genres films...don't wanna spoil 4 anyone, but pretty darn good all around. Interview With the Vampire and Severance are the twin jewels of television, for me. Both have made me rearrange my all time top ten list.

if you're ever watching actual vampire movies you're going lose it laughing right in the middle of them. So many tropes flew over your head.
