But in this one, he just comes out and uses his words, and tells her that he doesn't feel capable of managing her emotions right now, and he can't believe that she won't have some big, nearly unmanageable emotions in response to what he's going through. That's MASSIVE character development right there! And instead of internalizing all of this self-hatred like he had in previous audios, calling himself a failure and saying he doesn't deserve happiness and what-not, here he says that he wish he could *feel* as loved as he knows that he is on an intellectual level. That's even more character development. He's learning to move outside his own emotions a little bit and see them for what they are. This kid is going places. He's a rock-star!
This is the most compelling and well told story I have ever heard. You did an absolutely amazing job with it and this is by far my favorite audio I have heard in a long time.

I actually just let the character come natural to me. As soon as I hit record, the character is there. But the reverse comfort takes a bit of time. The only form of preparation I do is drinking some water, mic testing, practicing the lines before finally starting.

It's easier to understand how other people have trauma from 'small things' than it is to admit you have it yourself, because you think the reason you have trauma is so small that you shouldn't have trauma.
