thanks this sounds like the biz but .. my Sibelius midi file which has loads of dynamics arrives in Logic with all velocity uniform at 64.. the very thing we need to be fluctuating as you describe... any idea how I can remedy this?
It seems Logic automatically “guesses” which samples to assign to each track. Is there a way to make it assign specific samples? ie, so that any time I move Violin I midi data from Sibelius to Logic that it selects my favorite Violin sample?
there is some little problem happened to me, when i change the instrument to kontakt, it's not working, can you tell me how to fix it? i just follow your instructions to delete all unnecessary MIDI data but nothing change, it's still no sound playing at all
On the kontakt instrument under midi channel (it will look like this - MIDI Ch: - and is next to memory/under outputs on that top bar of the patch itself) it will currently say (A)1 click on that and change it to Omni, it should now work. Common problem, let me know if that works!
Thanks for showing us how this works. Still, it’s a super pain in the you know what. Shouldn’t have to do all that deleting manually. They could fix it and make things easier but they must believe they’d be losing money. Everything else can be automated in a DAW; why not the export/import process-and it would take even longer to complete the process if you want to use your own sound library. It’s pretty primitive the way it is currently set up if you ask me.
This was so incredibly helpful!!! Thank you so much
Super useful and perfectly explained, thanks a lot men!

Can't you just delete all that unwanted stuff from the Even List (command7)?

Can you do the same thing in Pro Tools Artist or Pro Tools Ultimate?
Yes it’s under, File - Export - MIDI, make sure you select all the tracks you want to export before doing the above, hope that helps!
There is a setting to delete all automation in logic with one click ;)
Hopefully this saves you some time
