I’ve always tied direct to the fluoro with an FG knot, but I do get wind knots every once in a while, I am gonna try tyin a swivel when I start the new season, maybe I can see a difference, keep up wit the vids I definitely like to watch em.. ✌🏼
@Finn Hawley I saw you were giving away a Profumo custom bait recently. I started fishing with Mike Profumo around the year 2000 before he made baits but he makes some absolutely sick stuff. He a great guy and angler too. Getting wind knots drove me nuts for a while. While “they” say it’s best to let out your line behind a boat with nothing on it and reel it back in between your thumb and forefinger a few times will remove it. No longer being a boater I just started pulling my line out a little farther than my max casting distance with nothing on it and walking it out a few times and doing the same thing I mentioned has prevented my outings from this problem. I also reel all the way back through the guides where I’m holding it between my thumb and forefinger and you can see it un-screwing like a reversing corkscrew. I’ll take the ten or so minutes doing this before an outing to not have a wind knot and especially avoiding one on the dark having to correct it and or retie in the dark.
Would it make sense to attach a Spro swivel to an Anglers clip? I'm surf fishing for bull reds off the Texas coast using circle hooks and cut bait. Thanks.
Yo Finn! Those Jigsmiths are the truth! Lol One of my favorite topwaters. I know you like large plugs. Look up the RM Smith Jackhammer. It's basically like a 12 inch Jigsmith. It thrashes when going side to side on top of the water. Even the schoolies eat em!
Good question. I have seen this but I don't know it's good to do. Sometimes tins, jigs , spoons etc will come with a swivel already connected. So the question is should a clip be used in those instances?
I somehow always manage to reel the swivel into my guides and cast and break guides no matter how hard I try to pay attention , so that’s why I tie direct
Makes changing out leaders in a quick. Leader direct braid, good luck tieing the fancy knots in the the pounding surf at night.
Good info thanks ! I secure clips to my rod by tying a small loop of mono on my bottom guide (it doesn’t interfere with fishing and lasts )
Thank you. Finally very informative review!
Thanks for the informative content always my dude

Made a difference for me!
You will still get wind knots but I think that it is less.
Super helpful! Great video
I use to tie direct all the time. It’s time to use the spro swivels. Sick of wind knots and more time on the water to fish.
I have issues with getting bug plugs on and off of TA clips. What would you recommend?

I have fished some before they defiantly catch fish!!
Do you remove the nose split rings from the plugs? I've removed those rings from my lures but have hears both opinions.
I always remove them. Think it helps.
Have you ever had one to open up or cut your line.
i do clinch not with fluoro on swivel and clip, what knot do you recommend for the braid to the swivel?
I am about to make a video on knots stay tuned!
do you or have you put a swivel on a TA clip?

Use the TA clips for all plugs except for poppers..I tie those direct
What are your thoughts on tying direct leader to main line ? Do you always use swivels?
I always use swivels I thing they reduce the amount of wind knots I get.
I can’t believe that u have over 1000 subs already
I was the 5th sub to u
Spro prime clips are better imo
