dude i love this style of collecting. i am a huge pete alonso collector and i did this same thing with his topps and bowman rookie cards. 10s were a limiting factor and with a limited budget i opted for any grade or raw. got up to well over 500 cards, lol. OCD to the max. took about 40 something videos to show them and i still didnt include the topps now cards. another couple hundred, lol. keep cillecting brother!

Awesome collection! There’s a lot of talk lately about consolidating up - but I love a collection like this. In 20 years this is the type of stuff which will be a joy to look through - instead of 1-2 “reds to 5” or something like that. Not sure what will make more sense from a $$ pov - nobody knows. Thanks for sharing. BTW, you are missing 1 base card - the museum collection- love his face in that one - intense.

@@MGsac98252 I've tried to rationalize when I look for graded...and that is 1. If it's just cheap & 2. If the card is "significant," like a rookie card. If it's just a cool looking card and getting it in graded form is cost prohibitive, I buy raw.
Noice! I started collecting Ohtani cards a few months ago. The S-54 Salute is the only RC I actually pulled back in 2018, but have bought a few more rookies recently. The Ichiro one I have in Gold. I recently bought the 2024 Anime TV Card. Its already gone up in value since I bought it as have most of the others. I just ordered a bunch of Topps now 50/50 cards. Hoping to get something numbered.

Should just get the 1 of 5 graded. I can see you have a sleeve over the card to prevent chrome surface being scratched by the one touch, but the back is still exposed. If you want to keep it in a one-touch, I suggest getting one of those Pro-mold ones where you can keep the card in a penny sleeve.
@@n00btype It was actually in a toploader prior to the video, and again, it just looked nicer in the case for the vid. I do think I'll get it graded, as I may actually let go of that one, if the sale price warrants it that is. Thank you for watching and hopefully you enjoyed the cards!

2018 bowman holiday has rookie logo ohtani cards. i apologize if i missed it in the video. same image as 2018 bowman but with christmas stuff and parallels
I don't think I saw the 2018 Team Set Ohtani A-17 in there. While doesn't come from normal packs, it's very obtainable not super expensive like the image variations. It's a good image (same image as Gypsy Queens and Finest zoomed, so is fun to have all three) and I think fits the overall theme of your collection. I think the Advent Calendar 2018 ohtani also has a pretty cool image and also affordable.

@@GoreMadeBreaks for about 3-4 years and under the New Era name, foil packs were available at select stores in select stadiums (give or take). 8 cards a pack with 32 base set (which Shohei is #10) and about half as much retro design inserts, featuring retired greats. The #10 Ohtani has a PSA Pop Report of just under 500, with less 10s than 9s (which, considering pack fresh Shohei grading tendencies, is more challenging than most), and out of about current 10 listings, around 80% are slabbed/graded based off the current eBay listings. I consider that pretty good scarcity and exclusivity to go with an amazing photo and flagship design.
@@GoreMadeBreaks I also love how it looks. The flagship design and shoulder up photo makes it feel like a true modern version of a vintage BB card. I didn't need more than a second to decide it would keep me happy if I bought it (while passing up $500 Bowman Chromes to not spend a crazy amount and have better chance of faster returns).

I would have bought all black label Beckett's if that was the sole issue...but then there would have never been a video as I can't afford it, let alone find them

Second the topps team set ohtani. Low pop in a PSA 10. I think it’s around the image variation pop. Also a batting image.
