I am sorry to hear that you have a low anion gap 3b_balls. I do not provide any medical advice on my channel and all videos are for educational/entertainment purposes only. I would highly recommend having a discussion with your primary care physician 💜
Please note that I do not provide medical advice on my videos. A lower anion gap can be influenced by several factors, but the method of sample collection or handling typically isn't one of them, provided that the procedure follows standard laboratory practices. However, if you're concerned about the procedure used during your blood draw or believe there was a potential issue with sample handling, it's important to discuss these concerns with your healthcare provider. They can assess whether a retest is necessary or explain other factors that might contribute to a lower anion gap, such as fluctuations in electrolyte levels due to hydration status, medication, or underlying health conditions.
Great question. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to answer these questions as deadly levels are different dependent on each individual. I would highly recommend speaking with a physician if there any concerns regarding anion levels.

I had a lower anion gap but noticed the nurse took the syringe and pushed it into the various sample tubes. Could this make it lower?
