Wow

Easy. :)
Excellent! 👌
idk if it changes at time goes on, but NBME says AST and ALT are 8-20 U/L. Why such a drastic difference? Do you know the values to have gone up since 2021??
Thank you for the comment! As mentioned in the video, normal ranges vary lab to lab. AST and ALT are examples of this. The upper limits of 40 and 60 U/L are commonly referenced. However, you may see upper limits that are lower or higher depending on the lab. No one is wrong. Although it seems like a drastic difference, typically on NBME/USMLE the AST and ALT will be significantly elevated (i.e. in the 1,000s) when there is hepatic pathology present that would affect those enzymes. This will hopefully mitigate any concerns. Hope that helps!
magnesium? phosphate?
I love you❤
Memory tricks are life savers! ✅
Bun is 10 to 20
Appreciate the comment! As mentioned in the video, normal ranges vary lab to lab. Each lab has a different range for what is normal. While 10-20 mg/dL could be a normal range, not all labs will use this. For example, the lower reference range could approach 3-5 mg/dL and the upper reference range could approach 24-26 mg/dL in some labs, and can also vary for newborn, pediatric, and adult populations. 5-20 mg/dL was used in the video as this is an easy common estimate. Hope that helps!
B A N A N A S!
👍
yall 4+4'd this vid
INR is 2-3...
Thank you for the comment. A normal INR is < 1 for someone who is not on anticoagulation (i.e. Warfarin). If some is taking warfarin, then the effective therapeutic range is typically 2-3. You would then be correct in saying that the normal INR for that patient population would be 2-3. Hope that helps!
@@ezmed got it! Thank you! I was confused for a second lol
@@ashleyk1014 No problem! If any more questions come up feel free to reach out, good luck to you!
This is by far the easiest to memorize the lab values…
calcium, critical lab, call 9-11 .... CA 9-11
That's a good one too! Thanks for sharing! 🙌
@@ezmed literally memorized all my values over night because of you
@@Johndoe-gn6mm That's seriously awesome. It's amazing what a few memory tricks can do. Glad they worked out for you 👍
