  • This is the three ingredients that I use to make my own minerals for my deer mineral sites. They tear the ground up going after it. The ingredients are Dicalcium-monocalcium Phosphate, Trace-Mineralized Salt, and Cane Dried Molasses. With the total cost of about $70 and makes 150 pounds.

Great video. Jerod and I have been using Lucky Buck since 2011. The instructions for the Lucky Buck was you were to put out a bucket of the mineral once a month, starting about the time the bucks antlers start growing. Lucky Buck is good for all deer, from bucks to does and even fawns. But, you would put out a bucket a month until the bucks shed their velvet. Once the velvet is shed, then you put out about a 1/4 of a bucket every month. Basically you were to use it every month for a year. The manufacturer of Lucky Buck says that after about the second year you should start seeing results. The manufacture does recommend that if you put Lucky Buck out, that you shouldn't put any other mineral product out. This will keep them coming to the Lucky Buck.
That stuff you made up looks like Lucky Buck. But I bet it doesn't smell like Lucky Buck, Lucky Buck has a apple smell to it.
I like that larger barrel feeder you have. Jerod, Big Al and I all have the 5 gallon bucket feeders like your second one. They hold about 45 lbs of corn. About every two weeks we have to fill them when we have it set to 2 times a day.
Again great video. Jerod, Big Al and I need to get some videos up. Trying to do another Memories of Hunts Past, but Jerod and I just can't get out schedules to sink up. This one would be when he first went squirrel hunt at deer camp. I want him to do a review of his Bowtech Destroyer 350, like I did on the Bowtech Assassin, after 10 years of using them.
Take care and "We will see you in the woods"! Juddie - J & J TOA

Yeah I used luck buck for little over a year And it smells great. The molasses doesn’t smell as strong. But as much as I’m putting out this year. It would get a little expensive lol. Deer are hitting it pretty good I plan on getting another big feeder for next fall replace the small one. I’ve been working 12 hr shifts 5-6 days a week. I’ve got a few more review videos in mind plus turkey season is coming soon. Looking forward to seeing your videos 👍

Sounds like a good mix for a diy mineral. Your saving a ton of money buying the bags without a buck picture on it 😜

Add a bag of cattle mineral that has vitamins and other necessary mineral content in it and u will have a mineral that has both vitamins and all minerals in it
