Very handsome car. I was at a hotel the other day, when guests were coming out, they werent looking at the porsches and mercs in the valet parking, people including my group were actually looking and pointing at the mazda 6.
Hi marderend. I didn't notice anything with transmission one way or another. I did a fair amount of driving in manual mode (mostly for compression braking downhill) and it felt comparable with other cars in the class. Thanks so much for watching. Alex
Hi Goru. Thought I mentioned some handling stuff but handling is comparable to most other cars in the class. Like almost all FWD drives cars in the class, it understeers when really pushed the steering feels pretty positive. I don't focus a ton on handling because cars like the 6, Accord, etc. aren't meant to be driven hard. Usually styling, creature comforts, etc. are more important to average buyer. that's a tough one. I like the styling and functionality of this better but I can't help but think the accord will hold up better on the long term and will have better resale value. To be honest, go with whatever one you like better. Both are really solid options. See you on the road. Alex
I've test driven this car twice and I have to agree that it does need some more power since I kept finding myself nearly flooring the car to accelerate. Overall, power is really all its lacking, if it got another 20 extra horsepower and a little bit more torque it would really help this car out.

If someone is looking for a car for 2-3 years, more like a point A to B car with decent styling, would a Honda or a Toyota be a better bet in terms of resale? How about the Toyota Camry Sport SE, is it totally out the competition in comparison to the Mazda 6 or the Ford Fusion SE?
It is a bit noisier than the general consensus now, but it's way lighter (resulting in an involving drive and great economy) than any of the competition. 19" wheels also don't help for road noise.
I have a couple questions for you if I may.. hopefully you'll answer. 1. Do you feel this is a better car than the 2013 Sonata Limited? 2. I am not a "speedy" driver.. if i need to pass, that is all I care about.. so would this be as good as or better than say an Accord SE (4cyl. non v6)? 3. In terms amenities, do you feel you get alot of bang for your buck with this car?

IMO, one of the most attractive features from the grand touring models compare to the other trims is the bi-xenon headlights.

My only gripe is the instrument cluster it needs a genuine fuel gauge, temp gauge, oil pressure and battery voltage.

Some reviews have mentioned that the transmission is very reluctant to downshift. What are your thoughts about the transmission?
