Galaxy guardians celebrate 80th anniversary

United States Air Force personnel from 22nd Airlift Squadron flew a giant C-5M Galaxy strategic airlift aircraft into RAAF Base Amberley in Queensland to celebrate the 80th anniversary of squadron's formation, which took place at Essendon airport in Melbourne during World War II.
The RAAF Base Amberley visit allowed 22nd Airlift Squadron personnel to meet with their Royal Australian Air Force strategic airlift counterparts from Nos. 33 and 36 Squadrons.
The Royal Australian Air Force and the United States Air Force enjoy a long-standing relationship and the visit celebrated and commemorated that shared relationship and all its achievements.
