Those 2 sisters sure knew how to enjoy life, and had such unusual experiences to share and remember. And they were still young! Hope they had long, happy, healthy lives with loved ones. 👏👍👍

"Who was the only US president to be tried on impeachment charges?" The answer to THAT question has sure changed a lot since 1958!

"I met him in a sewer in France" - "We met up again in my apartment in Flushing". You can't make that stuff up. I guess their relationship was 'in the toilet' from the start.

Answer to a trivia question : The theme song played at the beginning was the same theme of Carson's Prime time show on CBS . STARTING ALL OVER AGAIN , I guess the Johnny's theme on the Tonight show has made this song unknown in reference to Johnny Carson / Carson developed and honed his interviewing skills and shticks on this particular program ' Mary Ann Mobley mentioned in connection to a question was later appeared on Carson's Tonight Show with Johnny himself .

How can I find Who Do You Trust episodes from 1961 & 1962 ? I appeared on one of the shows when I was 9 or 10 years old.

Keep dreaming, as few game show episodes from this era that weren't produced by Mark Goodson-Bill Todman exist.

Johnny did this show after his variety show on CBS flopped. On that show he seemed to be stiff, nervous and self-conscious, and he ended up like a lot of "failed" comedians on TV back in the 1950s - as a game show host on bargain-basement (at the time) ABC. But it seemed like he loosened up a lot and turned more into the persona people now remember from "The Tonight Show."

My mom was on either the first episodes of that show in August 1958 - she says she was the champ for 10 days or so. We saw a clip of it on American Masters on Johnny Carson a few years back. Do you have any access to that?

Unfortunately, it's almost certainly lost to history like so much TV from this era.

I guess they got by for six years with a grammatically incorrect title instead of "Whom Do You Trust?"

The only part about this show that I don't like is the organ music! It's like an old ice skating rink or something! Brutal!!!!!

    • @pannoni8449

You would probably not enjoy soap operas up until the early '70s.

The music is awesome, it adds to the antiquated feel of the whole thing.

This daytime game show aired on ABC in the late-1950s until 1962, when Johnny Carson left the show to become host of "The Tonight Show" on NBC. Most daytime game shows in that era had low production budgets, and could not afford a band to play music on the show. It was a common practice, both on radio and television, to use organ players to provide music on game shows, and occasionally, soap operas and prime-time dramas. In the 1960s, pre-recorded music became the standard for game shows on television.

@@LaptopLarry330 You all think the organ playing was creepy here - you should have seen the soaps my grandmother used to watch that were on around this time. That was REALLY bargain basement stuff!

The cheesy organ music makes it look like a parody of a TV game show.

Not much to the show. Similar to Groucho’s You Bet Your Life

COINCIDENTALLY, CARSON (THE KING OF LATE NIGHT)'S WHO DO YOU TRUST COMPETED AGAINST YOU BET YOUR LIFE WHICH WAS HOSTED BY GROUCHO MARX (WHO INTRODUCED THE FORMOR HOST OF WHO DO YOU TRUST AS THE HOST OF THE TONIGHT SHOW IN 1962) WAS REPLACED BY JAY LENO (WHO WAS CARSON'S SUCCESSOR ON THE TONIGHT SHOS) AS HOST OF YOU BET YOUR LIFE SO I HOPE THERE IS A REVIVAL OF WHO DO YOU TRUST PRODUCED BY WORLDWIDE PANTS AND HOSTED BY DAVID LETTERMAN ALONG WITH HIS SIDEKICK PAUL SHAFFER (HE MIGHT MAKE MUSIC AND CUES FOR THE NEW VERSION)
