Cruises are fun, but they always felt more rushed than a resort. There’s always so much you want to do on the islands and locations but you don’t have a ton of time to do it
It is mainly for excursions which are for a short time frame. People get on cruises mainly for the experience on the ship. If you want more time then don’t do cruising simple

This is kinda biased considering they’ve never been on a cruise. It’s like giving a kid a tasty snack for the first time and if they LOVE it they’ll kinda assume every other one will taste just as good if not more.
It’s sortve like the first time I stayed at a hotel. It was pretty cool because the hotel was nice! But as I started going into more hotels I realized they’re not all the same. And going into one that’s really good for your first time raises your standards a bit.

You don’t really need to plan every part of a trip to be a seasoned traveler. In fact being a bit more relaxed towards unexpected things is really a good quality for traveling. Things will go wrong sometimes, as long as you know how to deal with that, you’re going to be fine. They had a way to get to port, who cares there is another way to get there?
Toothbrushes are easy to forget. Its small, hidden in the bathroom, the last thing you pack because you still need to use it until the day you go(unless you have a travel toothbrush)

I've been on 12 cruises. I absolutely love them! The reason the pools are so small is to keep crowds on the deck down. I've been on a royal caribbean cruise and this specific cruise 3 times. It's very pretty and very accommodating. As a person who travels with a blind and Autistic child it is amazing. The ability of being able to go anywhere and be able to get food and rest is amazing as well. Just if and when you ever go on a cruise plan to spend money.

I went on a royal Caribbean cruise once and I legit lost my “card” in Mexico. The cards were legit your way to get on and off the boat. Long story short I freaked out, got passed the first couple security checks (that you NEEDED your card to get through and guess what they didn’t notice) but then the main entrance I told them my name and they pulled it up and let me through. I am so thankful that I wasn’t stuck in Mexico but also dang royal carribean u need to up the security checks before the main one.
Royal Caribbean uses face recognition (both the computer kind and humans) to ID guests coming on and off the ship. When they asked your name and stateroom they pulled up your picture and visually IDed you before allowing you on.
You can start locally and cruise if you travel off season is pretty affordable. I took a cruise for my bday after the summer rush. The cruise was $500 and you were allowed to pay it off in multiple payments if needed...get out there and see new things!! Good luck on future travels👍🏽👍🏽

just wanna give a tip dont get the rooms that arent facing the ocean, a friend of mine of one of those and there was barely any ventilation, he got really dizzy and had to share a room with another friend
I think you friend might have been a bit claustrophobic we have stayed in every class of cabin from inside to suite and never had that problem. But if you can afford any type of balcony that's better for sure 😉

One thing I would like to add, If you’re doing a cruise on carnival and Royal Caribbean with your teens and you’re thinking about the teen clubs....it’s really underwhelming. There isn’t anything to do while you’re there, the only fun they’ll have is outside of the club. That’s one thing Disney’s cruise line has a leg up on, their teen clubs are absolutely incredible. And actually know what teens want to do....
I've been on 4 cruise ships and getting around cruise ships can be difficult for people that aren't physically active.....even with elevators on the ship there is a lot of walking around to get from activity to activity to find, or just to find out if what you like has wait times or is actually interesting, or just getting to your room, or to restaurants, or to the pool, or just finding an open bench to layout on. A lot of elevators are pretty busy on the ship, so it's faster and easier to get around using the stairs sometimes at least for the people who are able to. I love it though it reminds me of Europe and how most people walk from place to place and I get a lot of exercise and activity.....agree though it is still a little unprofessional.
DerpyDoge You have plenty of time before the ship actually deports to look around the ship tho so therefor you should spend the time looking at everything and looking at the maps
You can pay for gratuities before or include it in the initial cost of the cruise but I think it might depend on who you book through. And I never pay for wifi, I enjoy being disconnected on a cruise and actually enjoy myself. I just use my phone for pictures and checking the time.
When they said u can’t use ur phones, it’s so true. My family and I went on a cruise the week that Pokémon go blew up so when we got WiFi back none of us knew what was happening or what Pokémon go even was 😂
Saffron Sinclair we paid for the key because it was cheaper that way, and we each get one device. We also paid our carrier so we could use our phones for calls. It’s not the cheapest but it saved us from other charges
From going on 8 cruises and being on this ship twice I would say it’s one of the best cruise ships I’ve been on. I loved it and all the options you can do. It’s all based on personal preference if you like it or not.
I was on this ship when she made her transatlantic voyage from Barcelona to Miami. as an avid cruiser, it was super refreshing to just spend 12 days onboard without having to get off at any ports. the ship is enormous, but with the way everything is designed, you really don't feel like you're onboard with ~6,000 other people
I absolutely loved this cruise when I was on it! There was a mini park and a rock climbing wall. There were also free ice cream machines near the pool, which was one of the best parts!
Just a tip, on most cruise lines you can legally opt out of gratuity charges. In most cases that doesn’t usually make it to the employees. Just remember to do it towards the end of your cruise.

Well yeah. But this is a cruise ship, its meant for luxury and not looks, titanic was an ocean liner, it was meant for speed and traversing the toughest of waves getting people from a to b. I like the style of the titanic more but I would love to book a cruise on this thing. Looks like great fun.
For gratuties you can go to the reception desk and cancel/change the amount, we always give either $5 a day pp and any left over holiday money to a member of staff who went above and beyond so we know that they 100% get the tips
just a tip! you can 100% take off the gratuities - just go to guest services and ask and they are more than happy to do it! With the normal gratuities, they can distributed to all of the staff, meaning they don’t get very much at all. Also, your own room attendant will be receiving the same amount as a room attendant that you never even saw. I much prefer to cancel gratuities and give the people that made my cruise much more as a tip such as my room attendant and my waiter!
When I went here the lowest level has a fancy retraunt AND IT WAS SO GOOD, there was this girl in the front who always held soup foam before and after you start and finish your meal, and always said Wash-ee wash-eeeee
I went on their ship “freedom of the seas” back in 2019, though it wasn’t as fancy as this, it was still the most amount of fun I’ve ever had in my life! Would totally go on again. We didn’t feel like doing much on the islands, so we only had three excursions, zip lining, floating water park, and sea trek. The rest of the days were beaches. The food there was also super awesome. I went with my uncle who makes quite a bit of money, who took us on the ship, so we got a couple extra fancy things, such as the vip lounge, hanging out in the royal suite which they had bought for themselves, so when we would visit them we got some special treats such as room service and in the bar they had in their room (it was really fancy, if you wanna see it just look up ‘freedom of the seas royal suite’), and a pretty nice balcony, although I looked at other rooms and they weren’t as fancy but still looked pretty nice!
Everyone here is saying "don't go during the corona outbreak". This just shows how the media can exaggerate issues that aren't that big. A couple of cruise ships out of all the ones all over the world have been affected
Better safe than sorry. I’m hypochondriac so I’m staying in bed until this outbreak is handled. It has nothing to do with racism it’s just a survival tactic, to slow down the spread of this outbreak it’d be better if Asians stay in Asia (specifically Chinese) and other countries where the Corona virus has been found.
The problem isn't the chances of being infected (which are pretty decent considering how many people are cooped up in a ship and how easily it can spread), it's the fact that NO country is taking that chance. At least one cruise ship has been refused entry in multiple ports despite no confirmed cases because many governments are simply unprepared for, and unwilling to risk an epidemic.
I’ve been on this cruise line so many times and I absolutely love it. I’ve been on that ship twice and I actually rode it the first time it set sail in spain. Although once you go big you never can go back to smaller ships!! I absolutely love this ship tho!!
i went on the allure of the seas exactly a year ago and that was also my first cruise. I would give Convenience a 5 star because at the time, the symphany of the seas just came out and everyone wanted to board that and not the allure (only difference is like a few hundred square feet and no robot baristas i think). Accommodation was a 4 star because i gave my suitcases to the staff and by the time we finally found our rooms our suitcases were there, no problems and no wrong suitcases. The only bad thing was the fact that the cleaning staff would come in even if you were inside and that kinda got annoying since i got a really bad sunburn on my face while on my voyage. Ameneties was a 5 because like i said before, when i got a sunburn on my face the cleaning crew saw me and gave me this special cream that helped my sunburn a lot. They also had free towels for when you went swimming and all you had to do to rent one was tap your card on a scanner. (they did have a 30 dollar fee for every towel you lose). Food was a 4 star for where i went for breakfast, lunch and dinner. On the Allure i went to the Windjammer Marketplace for breakfast and lunch because it was closer and the only place i knew that had free food (all other places were like super fancy restaurants that charged actual money for everything you bought. the reason why its 4 stars is because of the time it opened. I wanted the most out of the vacation so everyday i woke up at 5 o clock (without an alarm clock cuz then i would hate the trip) and the windjammer marketplace opened at 6:45 so i would wake up at 5, take a walk around the entire ship which takes like 30 minutes then go to Windjammer and wait another hour and 15 mins but my entire trip was a life changing experience. So i would say you guys should have went on the Allure because its less crowded and other things
Today's cruisers settle for a lot less than we received years ago. Until recently, you checked your bags at your home airport all the way to your cabin. When walking aboard the gangplank, there were servers with champagne and snacks. There was a nightly midnight buffet that had themes like seafood, chocolate, deserts, tropical delights..... And you could tour the bridge and the kitchen areas. When at port, you were not attacked by the local vendors or homeless people as you exited the ship. Servers would remember your name, and greet you with your favorite drink...... The good 'ole days. These mega ships breed anonymity, so people seem to be rude and self-entitled. I miss the old days of smaller ships with old fashioned amenities.

Royal Caribbean is the best cruise line I’ve gone on two cruises with them and I’m going on another, The next one that I’m going on is the symphony of the seas
I suggest for you girls to try going in an Expedition Cruise. I worked in big ships before and now I work in Expeditions, and it's SO different! Small ships can get to remote places the big ones can't, and if you enjoy the destination more than the ship itself, you'll for sure love it.
I have been on the ship and when you are at the port all you can see is this behemoth towering over you it’s 361 meter long frame that has a width of 66 meters and a height of 72 . She requires a crew of 2200 and at max capacity can carry 6680 passenger. Also when you stop at coco cay make sure to get the chicken sandwich it is amazing.
I would definitely recommend Disney Cruise Line, all of the port adventures, food, drinks, musicals, movies, and so much more before hand in one set price, so you don’t have to watch for money when you are on board. You do have to pay for alcohol on the ship if you want some, but you can literally order one of everything off the menu and not be charged for it, because it is already payed for. I’ve been traveling Disney since I was a child, and no other cruise ship or line has ever met my standards that Disney set. 10/10 would recommend
Sinphony of the seas! I LOVED IT! THE MONSTER SLIDE KILLED ME THOUGH AND THE WAVE SURFING Lol. The zip line was soo good! And the steak house. Breakfast was not the worst quite liked it! But rooms were bomb!
LONG POST, AND I'VE BEEN ON TWO OF THE SISTER SHIPS FROM ROYAL CARIBBEAN first big boat tip.... when you get onboard..go to the FIFTH DECK, go to CENTRAL PARK and eat at the small eatery there called PARK CAFÉ, they only have a few menu items, but my wife and I ate there quite alot or just stopped in and got a quick coffee or desserts. IT'S A GREAT SPOT TO HIT AS SOON AS YOU GET ONBOARD, MOST PEOPLE DO **NOT** KNOW ABOUT IT AND YOU CAN HANG OUT THERE UNTIL THE SHIP LEAVES DOCK, OR YOU JUST NEED SOMETHING TO EAT WHILE THEY GET YOUR ROOM READY. MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR THING.. GO TO STUFF LATER or earlier in the day like the buffet, go there as early as possible, you will know where the crowds go and AVOID them after a few days. SORRENTO’S pizza on the ROYAL PROMENADE DECK 5 is decent (but I am a NEW YORKER so it is only okay..but it *IS* fresh baked right there), across from it is CAFÉ PROMENADE both of these are open until 4AM and great spots for a late night coffee or dessert or a quick meal if the other places are hammered. THE DOG HOUSE in the back near the Aqua Theater, has some VERY VERY Good Hot dogs (Again, I am a NEW YORKER, I know mah dawgs, these were freaking epic for a cruise ship out in the middle of the ocean) . THE SHIP'S COFFEE IS SEATTLE'S BEST ..or STARBUCKS SECOND LINE OF COFFEE, AND IT IS VERY STRONG AND DECENT..I like my coffee very strong and it was on point the WINDJAMMER BUFFET is a great go to the INDIAN FOOD made for the Crew's PALATE is freaking outstanding, I had some Vegetarian Indian dishes that made me go back and say not eating standard food choices, seek it out it was a very nice change of pace , but ONLY when the crowd load is low. preferably go to the SOLARIUM BISTRO because it is adults only drops the crowd load A LOT. also get the ASSIGNED SEATED DINING, use that and show up and expect about a 15-30 minute wait...kinda like a restaurant. the BUFFETS are hit or miss. the PREMIUM DINING was okay. not spectacular, the UZUMI SUSHI CLASS is better then dining there, you can eat the sushi that you make. the tour for the behind the scenes cook/prep under deck crew areas is kinda expensive, but if it is your first cruise, it is something cool to do...but it is **NOT** cheap. I've been on the OASIS OF THE SEAS, and the ALLURE OF THE SEAS... and once you have been on a R/C OASIS CLASS ship, they all are built in the same template. my last cruise was on the ALLURE, and it was my fourth cruise, the one takeaway from ANY cruise is this...big ships have less crew engagement with the passengers 2200 crew are entirely just too dang busy to have a free for all with passengers, the smaller ships will allow you to get to know the crew better since the numbers are more to their favor fro workload, and they'll seek you out if you all click and get a friendship thing happening. LASTLY, *_ALWAYS_* get an ocean view cabin, the ability to hang out on your own balcony is freaking amazing at night, the fridge in the room will hold your wine bottles and be sure to bring a few, because onboard drinking is insanely freaking expensive, especially for bottled beers. ALSO the deck with the running track DECK 5 EMBARKATION LEVEL has a secret...go to the stern (rear of the boat, there is a quiet area known as the WAKE OBSERVATION AREA) the only noise you got is the engines, the water splashing, and a jogger every so often heading past. ALSO VERY VERY NOT WELL KNOWN ON DECK 14 is called the SUN DECK, I went there on OASIS and ALLURE, I'm pretty sure SYMPHONY would have it as well... to access it you go to the 14th deck, and cross over to the LEFT(PORT SIDE) forward hallway, walk as far forward as you can go, there *"SHOULD"* be a door with a push button, and you can then stand (((OVER))) the command deck and walk out to the outriggers and stand over the docking controls that they use to see down the length of the boat when they make land. there is LARGE BINOCULARS mounted there and you can see other boats from about 5-12 miles away pretty clearly on a nice day. in all cases...understand there is a lot of people on these boats and half the fun is trying to find places the crowds don't know about..ENJOY
I went on Symphony it's first holiday season. Looked forward to it as it made it's journey from where it was built to Miami. Loooooooved that ship! You would think it would be crowded with that many people but honestly it wasn't, because everyone isn't in the same place at the same time. It's wonderful!
As a person on this ship, it was absolutely amazing! It was super fun, the food was AMAZING! The activities were super fun, my sister went to kids club and it was so fun she says. I totally recommend going on this cruise after COVID-19 goes away!
I went once on this ship and once on its sister ship, and pretty much memorized my way around it. My favorite part is either the pizza place that you can just grab a bite from any time of day, or walking up and down the a million flights of stairs
Omg when I went on a cruise I was running around the ship desperate for a water bottle because they aren’t provided. I just ended up going to the buffet and filling a mug up with water

I've been on a royal caribbean cruise and this specific cruise 3 times.
It's very pretty and very accommodating. As a person who travels with a blind and Autistic child it is amazing. The ability of being able to go anywhere and be able to get food and rest is amazing as well.

I went on a royal Caribbean cruise once and I legit lost my “card” in Mexico. The cards were legit your way to get on and off the boat. Long story short I freaked out, got passed the first couple security checks (that you NEEDED your card to get through and guess what they didn’t notice) but then the main entrance I told them my name and they pulled it up and let me through. I am so thankful that I wasn’t stuck in Mexico but also dang royal carribean u need to up the security checks before the main one.
Royal Caribbean uses face recognition (both the computer kind and humans) to ID guests coming on and off the ship. When they asked your name and stateroom they pulled up your picture and visually IDed you before allowing you on.

You can start locally and cruise if you travel off season is pretty affordable. I took a cruise for my bday after the summer rush. The cruise was $500 and you were allowed to pay it off in multiple payments if needed...get out there and see new things!! Good luck on future travels👍🏽👍🏽

I think you friend might have been a bit claustrophobic we have stayed in every class of cabin from inside to suite and never had that problem. But if you can afford any type of balcony that's better for sure 😉

One thing I would like to add, If you’re doing a cruise on carnival and Royal Caribbean with your teens and you’re thinking about the teen clubs....it’s really underwhelming. There isn’t anything to do while you’re there, the only fun they’ll have is outside of the club. That’s one thing Disney’s cruise line has a leg up on, their teen clubs are absolutely incredible. And actually know what teens want to do....

I've been on 4 cruise ships and getting around cruise ships can be difficult for people that aren't physically active.....even with elevators on the ship there is a lot of walking around to get from activity to activity to find, or just to find out if what you like has wait times or is actually interesting, or just getting to your room, or to restaurants, or to the pool, or just finding an open bench to layout on.
A lot of elevators are pretty busy on the ship, so it's faster and easier to get around using the stairs sometimes at least for the people who are able to.
I love it though it reminds me of Europe and how most people walk from place to place and I get a lot of exercise and activity.....agree though it is still a little unprofessional.

You can pay for gratuities before or include it in the initial cost of the cruise but I think it might depend on who you book through. And I never pay for wifi, I enjoy being disconnected on a cruise and actually enjoy myself. I just use my phone for pictures and checking the time.
When they said u can’t use ur phones, it’s so true. My family and I went on a cruise the week that Pokémon go blew up so when we got WiFi back none of us knew what was happening or what Pokémon go even was 😂
B D you can use your phone, you can get WiFi in the ship and lots of carriers offer cruise plans that are valid for a month.
It's vacation, unplug for a while! Use your phone in airplane mode to take pictures, etc., and update your social media when you get back.
Saffron Sinclair we paid for the key because it was cheaper that way, and we each get one device. We also paid our carrier so we could use our phones for calls. It’s not the cheapest but it saved us from other charges

From going on 8 cruises and being on this ship twice I would say it’s one of the best cruise ships I’ve been on. I loved it and all the options you can do. It’s all based on personal preference if you like it or not.

I was on this ship when she made her transatlantic voyage from Barcelona to Miami. as an avid cruiser, it was super refreshing to just spend 12 days onboard without having to get off at any ports. the ship is enormous, but with the way everything is designed, you really don't feel like you're onboard with ~6,000 other people

I absolutely loved this cruise when I was on it! There was a mini park and a rock climbing wall. There were also free ice cream machines near the pool, which was one of the best parts!
Just a tip, on most cruise lines you can legally opt out of gratuity charges. In most cases that doesn’t usually make it to the employees. Just remember to do it towards the end of your cruise.

For gratuties you can go to the reception desk and cancel/change the amount, we always give either $5 a day pp and any left over holiday money to a member of staff who went above and beyond so we know that they 100% get the tips

just a tip! you can 100% take off the gratuities - just go to guest services and ask and they are more than happy to do it! With the normal gratuities, they can distributed to all of the staff, meaning they don’t get very much at all. Also, your own room attendant will be receiving the same amount as a room attendant that you never even saw. I much prefer to cancel gratuities and give the people that made my cruise much more as a tip such as my room attendant and my waiter!

I went on their ship “freedom of the seas” back in 2019, though it wasn’t as fancy as this, it was still the most amount of fun I’ve ever had in my life! Would totally go on again. We didn’t feel like doing much on the islands, so we only had three excursions, zip lining, floating water park, and sea trek. The rest of the days were beaches. The food there was also super awesome. I went with my uncle who makes quite a bit of money, who took us on the ship, so we got a couple extra fancy things, such as the vip lounge, hanging out in the royal suite which they had bought for themselves, so when we would visit them we got some special treats such as room service and in the bar they had in their room (it was really fancy, if you wanna see it just look up ‘freedom of the seas royal suite’), and a pretty nice balcony, although I looked at other rooms and they weren’t as fancy but still looked pretty nice!

Everyone here is saying "don't go during the corona outbreak". This just shows how the media can exaggerate issues that aren't that big. A couple of cruise ships out of all the ones all over the world have been affected
Better safe than sorry. I’m hypochondriac so I’m staying in bed until this outbreak is handled. It has nothing to do with racism it’s just a survival tactic, to slow down the spread of this outbreak it’d be better if Asians stay in Asia (specifically Chinese) and other countries where the Corona virus has been found.
The problem isn't the chances of being infected (which are pretty decent considering how many people are cooped up in a ship and how easily it can spread), it's the fact that NO country is taking that chance. At least one cruise ship has been refused entry in multiple ports despite no confirmed cases because many governments are simply unprepared for, and unwilling to risk an epidemic.

I went on this with my family last year. We love Royal Caribbean! I love the slides, Mexican pool food, ice cream, laser tag, etc...
i went on the allure of the seas exactly a year ago and that was also my first cruise.
I would give Convenience a 5 star because at the time, the symphany of the seas just came out and everyone wanted to board that and not the allure (only difference is like a few hundred square feet and no robot baristas i think).
Accommodation was a 4 star because i gave my suitcases to the staff and by the time we finally found our rooms our suitcases were there, no problems and no wrong suitcases. The only bad thing was the fact that the cleaning staff would come in even if you were inside and that kinda got annoying since i got a really bad sunburn on my face while on my voyage.
Ameneties was a 5 because like i said before, when i got a sunburn on my face the cleaning crew saw me and gave me this special cream that helped my sunburn a lot. They also had free towels for when you went swimming and all you had to do to rent one was tap your card on a scanner. (they did have a 30 dollar fee for every towel you lose).
Food was a 4 star for where i went for breakfast, lunch and dinner. On the Allure i went to the Windjammer Marketplace for breakfast and lunch because it was closer and the only place i knew that had free food (all other places were like super fancy restaurants that charged actual money for everything you bought. the reason why its 4 stars is because of the time it opened. I wanted the most out of the vacation so everyday i woke up at 5 o clock (without an alarm clock cuz then i would hate the trip) and the windjammer marketplace opened at 6:45 so i would wake up at 5, take a walk around the entire ship which takes like 30 minutes then go to Windjammer and wait another hour and 15 mins but my entire trip was a life changing experience.
So i would say you guys should have went on the Allure because its less crowded and other things

Today's cruisers settle for a lot less than we received years ago. Until recently, you checked your bags at your home airport all the way to your cabin. When walking aboard the gangplank, there were servers with champagne and snacks. There was a nightly midnight buffet that had themes like seafood, chocolate, deserts, tropical delights..... And you could tour the bridge and the kitchen areas. When at port, you were not attacked by the local vendors or homeless people as you exited the ship. Servers would remember your name, and greet you with your favorite drink...... The good 'ole days. These mega ships breed anonymity, so people seem to be rude and self-entitled. I miss the old days of smaller ships with old fashioned amenities.
Mega ships 🚢 are filled with slides, and food, and other stuff the “good ole days” sounds horrible nothing to do, but sleep? Tf.

I suggest for you girls to try going in an Expedition Cruise. I worked in big ships before and now I work in Expeditions, and it's SO different! Small ships can get to remote places the big ones can't, and if you enjoy the destination more than the ship itself, you'll for sure love it.

I have been on the ship and when you are at the port all you can see is this behemoth towering over you it’s 361 meter long frame that has a width of 66 meters and a height of 72 . She requires a crew of 2200 and at max capacity can carry 6680 passenger. Also when you stop at coco cay make sure to get the chicken sandwich it is amazing.

I would definitely recommend Disney Cruise Line, all of the port adventures, food, drinks, musicals, movies, and so much more before hand in one set price, so you don’t have to watch for money when you are on board. You do have to pay for alcohol on the ship if you want some, but you can literally order one of everything off the menu and not be charged for it, because it is already payed for. I’ve been traveling Disney since I was a child, and no other cruise ship or line has ever met my standards that Disney set. 10/10 would recommend

Sinphony of the seas! I LOVED IT! THE MONSTER SLIDE KILLED ME THOUGH AND THE WAVE SURFING Lol. The zip line was soo good! And the steak house. Breakfast was not the worst quite liked it! But rooms were bomb!

LONG POST, AND I'VE BEEN ON TWO OF THE SISTER SHIPS FROM ROYAL CARIBBEAN
first big boat tip.... when you get onboard..go to the FIFTH DECK, go to CENTRAL PARK and eat at the small eatery there called PARK CAFÉ, they only have a few menu items, but my wife and I ate there quite alot or just stopped in and got a quick coffee or desserts.
IT'S A GREAT SPOT TO HIT AS SOON AS YOU GET ONBOARD, MOST PEOPLE DO **NOT** KNOW ABOUT IT AND YOU CAN HANG OUT THERE UNTIL THE SHIP LEAVES DOCK, OR YOU JUST NEED SOMETHING TO EAT WHILE THEY GET YOUR ROOM READY.
MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR THING.. GO TO STUFF LATER or earlier in the day like the buffet, go there as early as possible, you will know where the crowds go and AVOID them after a few days.
SORRENTO’S pizza on the ROYAL PROMENADE DECK 5 is decent (but I am a NEW YORKER so it is only okay..but it *IS* fresh baked right there), across from it is CAFÉ PROMENADE both of these are open until 4AM and great spots for a late night coffee or dessert or a quick meal if the other places are hammered. THE DOG HOUSE in the back near the Aqua Theater, has some VERY VERY Good Hot dogs (Again, I am a NEW YORKER, I know mah dawgs, these were freaking epic for a cruise ship out in the middle of the ocean) .
THE SHIP'S COFFEE IS SEATTLE'S BEST ..or STARBUCKS SECOND LINE OF COFFEE, AND IT IS VERY STRONG AND DECENT..I like my coffee very strong and it was on point
the WINDJAMMER BUFFET is a great go to the INDIAN FOOD made for the Crew's PALATE is freaking outstanding, I had some Vegetarian Indian dishes that made me go back and say not eating standard food choices, seek it out it was a very nice change of pace , but ONLY when the crowd load is low. preferably go to the SOLARIUM BISTRO because it is adults only drops the crowd load A LOT. also get the ASSIGNED SEATED DINING, use that and show up and expect about a 15-30 minute wait...kinda like a restaurant. the BUFFETS are hit or miss. the PREMIUM DINING was okay. not spectacular, the UZUMI SUSHI CLASS is better then dining there, you can eat the sushi that you make. the tour for the behind the scenes cook/prep under deck crew areas is kinda expensive, but if it is your first cruise, it is something cool to do...but it is **NOT** cheap.
I've been on the OASIS OF THE SEAS, and the ALLURE OF THE SEAS... and once you have been on a R/C OASIS CLASS ship, they all are built in the same template. my last cruise was on the ALLURE, and it was my fourth cruise, the one takeaway from ANY cruise is this...big ships have less crew engagement with the passengers 2200 crew are entirely just too dang busy to have a free for all with passengers, the smaller ships will allow you to get to know the crew better since the numbers are more to their favor fro workload, and they'll seek you out if you all click and get a friendship thing happening.
LASTLY, *_ALWAYS_* get an ocean view cabin, the ability to hang out on your own balcony is freaking amazing at night, the fridge in the room will hold your wine bottles and be sure to bring a few, because onboard drinking is insanely freaking expensive, especially for bottled beers.
ALSO the deck with the running track DECK 5 EMBARKATION LEVEL has a secret...go to the stern (rear of the boat, there is a quiet area known as the WAKE OBSERVATION AREA) the only noise you got is the engines, the water splashing, and a jogger every so often heading past.
ALSO VERY VERY NOT WELL KNOWN ON DECK 14 is called the SUN DECK, I went there on OASIS and ALLURE, I'm pretty sure SYMPHONY would have it as well... to access it you go to the 14th deck, and cross over to the LEFT(PORT SIDE) forward hallway, walk as far forward as you can go, there *"SHOULD"* be a door with a push button, and you can then stand (((OVER))) the command deck and walk out to the outriggers and stand over the docking controls that they use to see down the length of the boat when they make land. there is LARGE BINOCULARS mounted there and you can see other boats from about 5-12 miles away pretty clearly on a nice day.
in all cases...understand there is a lot of people on these boats and half the fun is trying to find places the crowds don't know about..ENJOY

I went on Symphony it's first holiday season. Looked forward to it as it made it's journey from where it was built to Miami. Loooooooved that ship! You would think it would be crowded with that many people but honestly it wasn't, because everyone isn't in the same place at the same time. It's wonderful!
As a person on this ship, it was absolutely amazing! It was super fun, the food was AMAZING! The activities were super fun, my sister went to kids club and it was so fun she says. I totally recommend going on this cruise after COVID-19 goes away!
I went once on this ship and once on its sister ship, and pretty much memorized my way around it. My favorite part is either the pizza place that you can just grab a bite from any time of day, or walking up and down the a million flights of stairs
