...oh, and check this out Beau, not long ago I was at my Son's house in Schaumburg visiting my Grandchildren, and while sitting around bs'ing with my Son, he was channel surfing and stopped on the NFL network at the tail end of this round-table discussion about the Bears post-season history and failures, they showed a clip of the '77 Bears/Giants game.. Thee actual CBS broadcast with Johnny Morris & Vin Scully on the mic...and the footage was in crystal clear pristine condition, unlike mine and various pixelated uploads on TH-cam. I'm serious, it was excellent quality of the actual broadcast, and I thought to myself...CBS, NFL Films, or the NFL Network is holding out on us...the rumor that they didn't save any of those game, with the exception of a few random one's appears to be somewhat false...this broadcast footage was of excellent superior quality!

olofpalme63 I think you’re right, they have them and don’t ever have a plan to release them. A few years back when they discovered lost broadcast footage of Super Bowl 1, the N F L net work hyped up a rebroadcast of it and it was so poorly done. The footage was still highly edited with people talking over the footage being shown.

I was at some sports history buffs website (some guy devoted to St. Louis professional sports) about a month ago and he had a 10 minute video of the '72 Cardinals/Dolphins MNF game, even though in was in 480p, it was very excellent condition (far more superior than the one floating around TH-cam), no pixcelation. And better than any VHS Bears broadcast game that I currently own. Which gives me new hope that some of those early Bears games on MNF on my "I wish I could find" wish list could in fact actually exist somewhere. I believe you're right as well, some collectors are being very selfish and won't share.

Great video! I was at the game too. I was in section 224. Ha, I would’ve thanked you for all the great videos and entertainment on your channel!

...and here's some food for thought concerning bootleg quality; even though every generation, whether it be DVD, VHS, or even digital, loses quality if you don't use the same master to make dupplications to sell, you also lose quality transferring VHS to DVD, and even VHS directly to your hard drive. Plus, bootleggers deteriorated the quality in an attempt to maximize profits back in the late 70's and throughout the 80's and 90's by either recording the game in SLP mode on their television, or, they recorded the game in SP mode, and sold it in SLP to fit the game one VHS cassette. I always figured the quality of my VHS Bears/Giants game would be the same as anyone else's on the internet, with the exception of other opportunist trying to make a few bucks as well. A while back I was looking at clips of the Slush Bowl on your channel and although the quality of your clips aren't top notch, your footage is better than mine. And it dawned on me that, you either own the game on VHS ( 2 cassettes) and transferred it to your hard drive, or the bootlegger you purchased your DVD from transferred his VHS copy (recorded in SP mode) to DVD. The reason my Slush Bowl is of inferior quality is because my single VHS copy of the entire game was duplicated in SLP. Even Richard Waltrup's upload looks better than my copy. Although I wasn't charged alot of cash, I received a DVD (of which he claimed was transferred from an original master) of 1968's week 7...it was quite possibly one of the worst quality I've ever purchased. Grainy, scratched, extreme color fade 8mm film transferred to DVD. He duped me by using a thumbnail of a pristine episode in substitution of the actual video...that bastard!...oh well, it's a crap shoot sometimes.

As I've always considered you thee World Wide Web's authority of classic Chicago Bears television broadcast games, and you probably already know of it's existence, or already have it and just never got around to uploading yet, I certainly didn't know but; the '77 Packers/Bears tilt at Soldier Field is available on TH-cam th-cam.com/video/s52ah0l4uIE/w-d-xo.html ...just thought I'd let you know, in case you didn't.
