I was at this game and sitting in one of those end zone seats in full winter gear and inside a sleeping bag. Being the week before Christmas, there were many people dressed as Santa Claus. I witnessed 2 of those said people getting arrested. Good Times! Thanks for posting!
Man, if that 83 team had won those two overtime games at the Saints and Colts, they'd have made the playoffs and played SF in the Divisional Round . . . and they had beaten them 13-3 earlier in the latter part of the season. The 83 Bears would've been a team nobody wanted to play in the postseason, because their defense was _really_ coming together by the end of the season, and their offense was actually very, _very_ good.
Ditka was very happy that day because he knew Mac could be a winning QB and he proved it going 25-0 in his first 25 starts. I've said this for years, Jimmy Mac would have been one of the greatest QBs of any era had the injuries not interrupted his first 7 to 10 years. Bear down, ruff!
@@edpinkerton7947 I remember he was overweight and joked about it. Of course Payton made fun of him, and Mac and crew were zooming until Charles Martin did his worst. Mac stays healthy that season we win SB XXI
Lions won the division and threw 5 interceptions against the 49ers and still had a chance to win but missed a 43 yard field goal that would have won it...game still haunts me.
This one hurts man...everything fell into place for GB that day playoffs wise, except being able to stop that final drive. Bart Starr was fired, Forrest Gregg came in and was awful for 4 seasons. Lots of dominos fell.
The Pack is doing fine, since 1993. The Bears are DOA, the rivalry is over until the McCaskeys sell to someone who knows how to run a football team and build a real winner.
This is what made Bart Starr a terrible head coach. The Packers still had 3 timeouts and could used them to get the ball back with some time, but Starr never used them. The Bears ran the clock down to 10 seconds and kicked the game winning field goal there.
This is how we need to play them coming into this new yr with some damn hreat and passion smfh next. Season....cause they are playing like a high school football team
The Bears trying to avoid another losing season and knock their arch-rival Packers out of the NFC Playoffs. The Packers had a great offense in 1983, but didn't have the all around team to be a playoff team. They would win games they shouldn't and lose games they shouldn't. Which is normal for 8-8 teams.
