The way he deters potential robbers and de-escalates any potentially hostile situations is so admirable. A true travel TH-camr going to paths literally no one has gone

Worked with a bloke back in the 70's who had been one of the Ugandan Asians forcibly expelled from Uganda by Idi Amin, He and his family lost everything, his home, car, belonings and his business, he was one of many taken in by the British government, he was always grateful to GB for giving him another chance to thrive, which he did, good bloke he was, always upbeat despite the hardship he'd suffered.
Met a few of those in Canada. They were Ismailis who followed the Aga Khan. They mostly originated from the state of Gujarat in India.
Was that WINDRUSH?
@@ORDEROFTHEKNIGHTSTEMPLAR13 No not windrush, this was later, 1972/73. Almost 30,000 Asians who had British passports, I believe, were taken in by our government after Amin gave them 90 days to get out of Uganda or else.
@@JimBow-d2y Why would they not go back home to India?
@@bcanuckthey were already long gone from India, and had British passports. A better prospect than India, plus they didn’t have Indian passports

Never thought I will see Ben in Africa again, welcome to Africa...am a fan from Kenya.

I'm from the UK and I was in Uganda last February. I walked alone all over Kampala. It's really not dangerous during the day.
Danger is in your head not a reality
It's not dangerous at all. The one good thing with a military government is the security, long as you're not political 😅
It's not even dangerous at night. It's the same level of danger as most cities around the world
M7 has secured security in Uganda we walk freely please🙏❤❤❤
I find the places we are told are dangerous seem to be not dangerous but where all the fun is. I stayed in mexico city for a week and was told too avoid Tepito but spent most time there and miss it everyday 😅
"Uganda is better", what a diplomatic answer!
Keep them happy 😂

11:46 Bald's tour guide looked so deflated after having his speech repeated after he worked so hard to practice it 😢 ("I thought I said it clearly enough") was probably what he was thinking 😂
You're looking way too into it. Just enjoy the video mate
Reminds me of the British skit where a reporter interviews Talibans or Mujahideens in English but there are subtitles
I agree he didn’t need to do that
Pretty rude.. Baldy put on a show like he was interpreting mesopotamian for his viewers. I could understand the guide fine
@@jenersharma Why do i need subtitles i speak perfect english!!
That was outstanding Bald! One of your best!
Thanks
love the fact that you dont glorify the shit out the place unlike most influencers that go and travel to dirt poor country and just romanticize the entire experience
He does the precise opposite. He finds the shittiest places and takes the piss out of them.
To me it is all about the social interactions. The people of Uganda seem very open and friendly. In the end we are all humans and we just want a decent life.
@@jayeff6712 Move there then........

Right to the point. I hate when people visit the favelas of my country and start to romanticize it.
Thanks Bald, just when I needed a boost you put out a video. Love the authentic interactions and seeing these places as they are.
Where ever you go, you connect with people. Well done, and God bless you Bald!
This is so real. Better than any major media travel or civilization docs. This is what people want to see.

I love your content bald but as a white man working and living in UG I have to point some things out: there’s nothing at all dangerous about the areas you went to, the slums of Kampala are small and harmless compared to Nairobi’s or Capetown’s. Also, Ugandans are some of the most hospitable people, those who seem “confrontational” are just having fun and seeing if you, a white man, have any cash… they’re not going to rob you. Enjoy your travels in this amazing country!
