    2 questions: 1. can you make this longer by adding more part B's? and 2. not really a question, but I've never seen anyone use tape to clean up the fuzzy bits, and I think its just brilliant! thanks for the new knowledge (its always the simple things that elude me :D

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rimedade no the runner is stitch in 4 hooping for each size available. You would stitch the 8x12 size with that size hoop as you are limited to the 200 width of your hoop, the runner would end up at 8.8 inch high and 22 inch long. You can find all the relevant information on the product page here:

    Excuse the beginners question, I have just bought the design and realised that my machine hoop arm is on the opposite side, so on the right.
    Can I just rotate the design by 180 deg or mirror vertically for each file before stitching?
    I have a Janome MC550E.

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have your machine so I am not 100 % sure but theoretically yes you can rotate each file. If you want to know for certain I advise you to either ask on Kreative Kiwi Embroidery Facebook group as I know quite a few people have the same machine as you or email Heather she designed this runner and will be able to help you.

    Excellent video. In reading the instructions, it indicates 2 pieces (per hooping) of MAIN FABRIC, and only 1 piece of the 2nd ACCENT FABRIC. Yet, in this video, it appears you are using 2 pieces of the ACCENT FABRIC (front/back) per hooping. I'm confused with how many I should cut, as I don't want to waste fabric. Are the written directions correct or am I misreading them? Thanks!

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you make it reversible then you will use two, one front and one back, it depends on what you want. I hope this helps. Happy stitching 😊

    I just found you today, Kay. Happy, happy day! I am new to machine applique and embroidery (the by hand versions if which nearly made me give up ALL sewing.
    Jave you made this longer to incorporate into a bed quilt or altered for a pillow?

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Welcome to my channel Morgan I am pleased that you have found it. I hope you find it informative and it helps you make friends with your embroidery machine. I havent made mine longer but many have, you just keep repeating the third hooping with file C until it is long enough and finish with D. Happy stitching.

      what file format does heather use please@@KaysCutz

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@helenwingate5424 I have checked the 8x12 files and they are all correct and all line up. There isnt any extra row of stitching either so I suggest that you check that all the file sizes you are using are all 8x12s its easy to slect the wrong size, we have all done it, check that you havent mixed up the two end files file A and D. Make sure you havent opened any of the files in any software before loading them onto your USB key. If you have redownload the files, unzip them, put the file you are going to stitch directly onto your USB key and load it into your machine. Software can alter the files including the dimension even it you do nothing to the file to change it. If you are still having problems then as I have suggested before email Heather as it is her design and she can advise you better than me. I hope this helps.

    Thank you Kay. Fabulous Video. I did an extra “C” section and one spot did not get a zigzag on the raw edges or the final finishing Satin Stitch. I am thinking that I should secure that bit with Steam a Seam. Do you think doing so will keep it secure enough or would you suggest a different product?

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, I have never used steam a seam as it isn't available in my country and also not having seen your join I cant say. I suggest that if you think it might work to try it. Sorry I cannot be of more help.
      I will give you a bit of advice though, whenever you do the zigzagging of a join, always double check that everything has been caught before you go any further . If it hasn't, unpick the ZZ stitching, reposition the joining segment and then stitch that colour again.
      If you do use steam a seam to fix the issue please let me know if it works.

    • @Cruzingkel
      @Cruzingkel ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi,
      Thank you for your quick response and helpful tip. I assumed that when I added on the the next section, the edge would be completed. I will email you and include a photo. I made the full runner in contrast Valentine fabric, I also only quilted the holes/windows on sections A & D. I love the Celtic design. Another thank you for designing this lovely product plus the option to extend the length if one desires to do so. In closing, I must add, that when I removed the stabilizer and my runner dried, the unfinished edge fused. So I will need to remember to fuse this edge permanently after laundering. Have a great day.

    I am confused. Is the video demonstrating "reversible" ? You are adding backing fabric since the beginning of the video and at 14:-01 you say "if you are doing reversible" add your backing fabric. I was under the impression You are doing reversible since the beginning of the video.

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Regina yes I am demonstrating the reversible version but I think you misheard me, if you listen again I actually said "if you are doing the plainer version on the back rather than the reversible, you're now going to add your backing fabric". I hope this clears up any confusion. Happy stitching
