      It is and a nice masculin design too if you want it to be. I really enjoyed making it and it was quick too as there weren't any thread colour changes. They would make a great gift.

    Beautiful fall colors. I can see these placemats in all different colors for holidays and seasons. Problem is too pretty to be eaten on. Thank you for this project.

      Thanks Leah. I find that these placemat wash really well so I am not worried about using anything that I make. It would be a shame not to. I have this one on one of my little coffee tables for coffee cups to rest on.

    All your designs are amazing! The combination of colors in warm amber shades looks very advantageous with this design. Looks like an amber mosaic. Thanks a lot for your video tutorials!

      Thank you! I wasn't keen on the dark brouw centre but I didnt have a reddish clay coloured fabric unfotunately!

      @@KaysCutz Amber has a very large palette of colors, including greyish, green and even blue hues. It looks like an amber mosaic to me. My compliments. 🙂

    Thank you for the tutorial! It has been very useful in helping this newbie to understand some of the steps that are not as clear in the written instructions. I do have one question though about joining, are they supposed to overlap or just butt at the ends. My greatest difficulty is getting everything to align before doing the satin stitches. I can't really tell if it's aligned with just the zigzag stitches. Any pointers to help with that?

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Michelle you always place the stitch line of the joining segment directly on top of the stitch line of the segment that's in the hoop. I hope this helps you. Happy stitching 😊

    How long does it take to make one mat approximately?

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on your machine, the speed you stitch at and which size you make. It is hard to say but I would say but on my machine Brother V3 about 2 hours as there are seven hoopings. It stitches up pretty quick for such a big piece.

      I also have a brother and I wanted to make four of them for some round tables I have just wanted to know how much time I needed to set aside to make them.

    Kay your videos are awesome! But the designer didn't think of quilting all of the fabrics and fabric waste.
    There is only quilting in middle of pattern. And seems like a lot of waste of fabric.

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi MaryAnn thank you I am pleased that you enjoy them. The outside spirals dont need any quilting and to be honest, if I had digitized it myself I would not have put any in either not even in the centre as you get a lovely quilted effect from the satin stitching that divides the spirals.
      There really isn't a lot of waste. I was using up scraps from another project as you could see from the way I was placing them especially area 3 of each hooping. If you wanted to cut your fabrics smaller you could always measure each area and cut them tighter yourself. When designs are createdvwe give a 1/2" seam allowance on each side and top and bottom (More for quilt blocks and runners) of an area is given as this allows for people of all abilities to trim easily. When shapes are on an angle you still have to include that 1/2" each side top and bottom which looks as if more fabric is used than necessary but there isn't. Happy stitching.
