General suggests Brits could be called up to the army | ITV News

- The head of the Army has said Britain should “train and equip” a “citizen army” to ready the country for a potential land war.
But General Sir Patrick Sanders, the outgoing Chief of the General Staff (CGS), said even that would be “not enough” as he pointed to allies in eastern and northern Europe “laying the foundations for national mobilisation”.
In a speech on Wednesday, the military top brass said increasing Army numbers in preparation for a potential conflict would need to be a “whole-of-nation undertaking”.
The comments, first reported by the Daily Telegraph, are being read as a warning that British men and women should be ready for a call-up to the armed forces if Nato goes to war with Russia.
Best of luck with that, no ones laying down their lives for unelected foreign leaders.

A major difference between now and the last conscription is that then people actually liked the country and wanted to defend it, now nobody/very few would fight and die for England because its abandoned the majority, they cant put everyone in prison if millions decided to reject some form of conscription so good luck with that if it ever happened.

Both my family & my wife's Scots family have a decent record in serving with our Island's armed forces dating back to the 19th century. The is not 1 male member of our family , while I am alive , who will ever join up and fight a war because politics failed. Those days are long gone and we have seen the legacy of so much sacrifice others gave being eroded by those who care nothing of how much was given so our Island could live in peace.
Scotland has been completely failed and neglected by the UK State as Scotland still doesn't have its own national defence force.
