YEP!!!!! from Canada!!! 😁😁😁
@ hahahaha I’m from Canada too 😜
Hahaha! Yep 👍 cannot wait to see how she is doing❤
Also in BC Canada.
Yet another Canadian here. I’m in Vancouver and hello all😀
You are not just feeding her hay, you are feeding her love and hope. 💖
This!!!❤❤❤
Anyone else noticed that in spite of her recent trauma and delicate condition she never flinches or moves away from CC’s loving touch …..🥰
I don't think she was treated cruelly before CC bought her, even though quite neglectfully when it comes to her feeding. But of course I can't know for sure.
She actually comes to CC - she is not afraid - just poorly fed.
J'espère qu'elle n'a pas trop froid vu sa faiblesse. Elle est belle. ❤
@@peony4954 Horses don't lie, do they?
@@peony4954 That's what tells me she's had loving homes for big chunks of her life and she's not been _actively_ abused in her last one - sins of omission, rather than comission, as it were.
I held my breath when the vet came to check out your new horse. I am so relieved she is not pregnant and that full attention can be given to her recovery. You are truly an earth angel for rescuing her. Thank you for all you do.
Regardless of her condition, a mare her age shouldn't be having a foal, so I'm glad.
Her previous owners dumped her because of the melanoma I'll bet. People shouldn't breed if they can't take care of their horses to the end. ugh
@@topazzsky They probably dumped her because she was too old to breed and that's all she's good for to them.
Me too! ❤
She seems very outgoing and affectionate, I don't believe she was treated cruelly by her last owner.@@genthespacewitch
@@topazzsky you are right about the breeding also people probably shouldn’t breed horses regardless. There’s already enough horses in the world that need loving homes whether there rehomes, auction, privates sales, or rescue. Especially mustangs. Sound or unsound. They all need forever homes. Unfortunately it’s not possible to adopt/ buy/ save every horse. The only thing you can do is don’t breed horses so your not contributing to the problem or if you do breed vow to keep the Foal or twin foals for the rest of its life instead of rehoming it or sending it to an auction when it’s older.
Thank you for rescuing an older horse - so many of them are abandoned past their prime years. She has the kindest eyes, she is so grateful to you , it shows
There was a reason CC didn't get a mustang. Her horse found her. This mare is exactly where she needs to be, whether she's pregnant or not. ❤🐎🥕❤️
Yup🙏
It's like the kitty distribution system. You never know when it's going to strike!
She has worked hard raising kids…it’s her turn to be pampered and loved. Thank you CC for introducing us to this sweet girl❤
This old lady just won the friggin' lottery ❤
My God,-- she follows you like a puppy. . . Beyond heartwarming.
I would suggest the name Paloma for her! A white dove in a nest makes for the perfect image of a sweet, gentle, motherly creature like her...
I like it! I thought Oma (grandmother) but Paloma is better.
Paloma fits her in every way.
I love this suggestion, but CC said she was able to research the mare's past online. Perhaps she'll decide to keep her old name, whatever that was? Either way, I'm looking forward to the name reveal for this sweet, lovely old girl.
Paloma is really pretty ❤❤❤
I like Paloma too and will anxiously wait with everyone else😊
No wonder she followed you. Even with other horses biting her. ‘I am going home with my new Mama’.
She's not pregnant? Good. That should make her recovery much easier. She's such a sweetheart! I hope her recovery continues to go well. Thank you, CC, for caring about her. You're shoring up my faith in humanity.
She is so friendly and kind. Hard to believe she was allowed to get so run down. But, she has just won the lottery so YIPPEE! 🥳
Never feel bad about sharing your decisions, CC. 🙂 They are yours to make and no one has a right to question them. With your level of integrity, I am absolutely positive you would never harm your horses.
Really well said. Thank you.
Great comment, so well said!
I agree 100%.
You live your life as you know best and don’t worry about the viewers.
We’ll just watch in awe.
🥲🥲🥲🥲
You will do your considerable best for and with her, as you've done with all of them, and I definitely include Skeletor. You have the love, the knowledge, and the courage to do the right thing. People who think otherwise? A hearty "Bleep you" to them and their ignorance, cruelty, and probable slight case of mental illness. I've no patience for 'em.
I am so disgusted by people who profit from animals and then toss them aside, it seems like a never-ending cycle. So glad you took her home with you. Hi Nigel!!
You are not the only one. I have had major arguments with people who are cruel to animals.
Horses give so much, and then when older they deserve and have earned a nice retirement in my opinion.
I'm happy she isn't carrying another foal. Who would breed such an old mare anyway?! She deserves a good retirement.
Lots of herd owners don't care if multiple breedings wear mares out. Then they dump the mares at auctions and never think about them again. It is too bad those kind of owners are even considered human because they sure don't act in a human manner. They lack humanity.
People who only care about another horse to sell would breed an older mare like this. smh.
It makes me very happy that she can retire from that life and live her best life in Montana with CC. It's the best thing that could have happened to this old girl! Blessed Be!
I've been holding my breath, waiting for an update. I'm so happy to breathe a sigh of relief that she isn't pregnant. She is an amazing, sweet horse who deserves to be doted on and pampered.
As cute as a baby would be I am so relieved she can just focus on nutrition and recovery for herself now 🥺❤️ You truly are who she needed!
She has such a pretty face. They probably bred her like crazy because she made beautiful foals. So happy she gets to retire from that with you!
She may have desirable bloodlines, too.
I'm pretty sure this mare and her owner from about 2001 to 2009 or 2010 competed in a lot of AQHA events and did pretty well. Definitely desirable bloodlines. Then she was retired from competition, and a couple of years later, she was sold to be a broodmare, although I have heard of much older horses continuing to compete in reining and other events.
I love how she follows you around and waits for you when you bring her meal❤She seems like a good old girl
Me Too❣️❣️❣️
I was waiting fir her to say something. 😊
It must be such a relief for her to just have a clean place to live, food that is hers alone, and peace and quiet. And she sure loves you!
I'm so happy for her. No more babies, just love and kindness from now on. I'm certain she will thrive with you.
She is the sweetest horse I have ever seen. Thank you for saving her!
Sooo sweet!
Thank you ❤
Nonono, do not want this film to end! This is my happy place ❤
Me too! 😊😊❤

Well she is now at the home where getting that extra care will happen. This sweet girl can take a deep breath, relax and let the love and care begin.
Fingers crossed for her. She would make a lovely older buddy for Frisco Bill if she recovers. She reminds me of Ziggy. A good girl who has always done her best and just needed more care. Lovely she came your way... kindness and care.
Oh, that's a great idea. She can take Prim's place in Frisco Bill's affections and make it easier for CC to finish Prim's training.
Yess! She's the perfect girlfriend for the old boy, they can be adorable retired seniors growing old(er) together!❤
Frisco Bill and Nigel will be fighting over her.
❤
She is the exact type I love to rescue and give them a safe rest of life and all they need.
I just can’t wait to see her trotting around the green pastures in the spring, looking and feeling fabulous!!🌷🌸🌻
I don’t think I’d ever be brave enough to even put myself out there on social media so I can’t say you should or shouldn’t feel any sort of way, but I will say this;
Thank you for sharing the vulnerable horses with us. I think many of us understand they might not make it. I respect and appreciate you and your work all the more for taking them in. No one can “save them all” no matter what or who it is you’re trying to save, but one at a time you’re mending hearts and horses and doing more good than you’ll ever know.
So well said! Thank you for this comment
I completely agree. Hopefully CC has grown to trust us and I too am happy she shared the info about this sweet Mama.
Tears, so true 💧💧💧💧💧💧💧💧💧💧
Whew! I'm so glad this sweet old mare is not in foal! Now that she's with CC, she has a real shot at making a full recovery. Thank you, CC, for bringing this beautiful mare home with you. She deserves the opportunity to actually retire in a home filled with care and love! I can't wait for more updates! ❤
This mare truly needed “Second Chance CC” and she got her. The sweet girl won the horse lottery, and I could not be happier for her. Happy there’s no foal on the way. Now she can just be a horse. Thank you CC. 💜
People are wicked and Greedy! Poor girl.💔SO HAPPY you have her💓
So glad she's not expecting. She's such a sweet natured old girl. Can't wait to watch her glow up
I love this old gal ❤🩹She is sooooooo sweet ❤
It would totally break my heart if she was in foal. She looks like a mare who has constantly been bred. I draw a hard line at not breading a mare older than 14. She really does seem like a sweetheart
Honestly she's such a sweet horse! She barely knows you yet, in a new place, and still was happy to just stand there while the vets worked no issues. I think she can tell she's home and loved now ♥
She's such a sweetheart! You can see her light up when she hears your voice. I hope you'll get her together with Ziggy soon, I'm looking forward to their friendship. Glad her diagnosis was so positive. And Nigel looks 10 years younger than he did a year ago, winter agrees with him.
You should really make a calendar. The horses against the mountains are gorgeous.
Yess!!!❤
💖 there is one horse for each month... 😂
I think there's 13. Nigel. Ziggy. Scarlett. Prim. Frisco Bill. Whiplash. Little Gus. Stewie. Pete. Studman. Big Gus. Goose. And now this old mare.
What a sweet natured horse, I hope she will make a full recovery. She's lucky to be at your ranch.
Thanks!
I love the way she follows you around. Sweet and gentle girl. 🌺
I'm so glad to have an update on this girl! I've been checking for news like she's my own dang horse 😆
Me too, I was worried I missed a vlog…😂❤
Same!😊
@@Sun-SoulMe too!
lol me as well...
Me too, I have been finding myself worrying about her, really glad she isn't pregnant, she just needs to heal and be company for the old stallions.
Very sad that the owner used her for years and then discarded her like trash!! So happy she has you CC!❤
Happens to thousands regardless of breed. Foals mean money so breeding for GREED. So sad!
It's touching the way she follows you around and is attached to you. Like she knows you're her last hope. I'll be watching her progress, and really hoping for the day when she feels good enough to have her first run and buck. ❤️
That pretty Mama is looking brighter eyed and already better. You go girl, great job rescuing this sweet mare.
Don't you ever let yourself be influenced by the fact that you have a youtube channel CC! You do what you think is best, don't you let any comments dishearten you, it would be a real shame!
You are doing an outstanding job, it is a labour of love and you can happily ignore any nasty comments . They don't know what they're talking about..
❤
@@annettegarloff4600 thanks! Very well said ❤️
What are you talking about???
I haven't seen ANY negative comments yet.
@@RataPerry I've seen a few and CC mention it sometimes in her videos.
@RataPerry I was referring to her comment that she was unsure about bringing this horse home bc of her TH-cam Channel . She said that before she wouldn't have hesitated and would have just brought her home to "see how she does". That triggered my comment.
Over the years I had the opportunity to buy horses on their way to the glue factory, as we used to say. The local dealer for these horses had a soft spot and would call me and my friend to let us know when there was a horse or pony that shouldn’t be sent to slaughter, quite often young unsuccessful race horses, unbroken ponies etc. He was reviled by everyone that had horses for dealing in the meat market but this dealer made sure the horses were well treated, fed, transported properly and the ones that shouldn’t be there were sold to people like me. So we would go to his lot, and take a look and bring them home, paying for them by the pound. It was heartbreaking to see the very ancient crippled ponies and ones with obvious injuries but we didn’t have a lot of money either and could only take ones we thought we could train and sell. All but one of these horses we bought went on to good new homes after retraining and refeeding. Annie, a 4 year old, extremely emaciated racehorse, even worse than your new one, would only be with us for a year. She was super sweet, very easy to train and bloomed with feeding. She became shiny and filled out, a beautiful chestnut with lots of chrome. Then one day, a year later, she wasn’t okay. What can happen to starved horses is their immune system can’t take much and she ended up with a fungal infection in her sinuses, very unusual, and we were unable to beat it. But I know we gave her a much better ending where she was in a big field, cared for and appreciated. It is a huge risk taking on horses in this condition but so worth it. Kudos CC.
Thank you and God bless you & yours for all you have done.
Such a sad story.
Thank you for taking on the OTTB. They are often treated as a commodity and not as a living being with feelings. And I know from experience how time consuming, emotional, and expensive it can be. But also how wonderful it can be to watch them heal and have a better life and love, which they give back many times over.
I am a little bummed she isn't pregnant because I would love to see CC help raise a little one. But, I'm also glad she isn't pregnant because CC will have an easier time getting this old gal into really good shape. I'm looking forward to watching the progression and seeing her improvements.
This horse has the kindest and gentlest eyes. She may have become my favorite mare lol. Happy that the news for her recovery is good, she's an angel.
Your video post magically coincided with the discovery of an emaciated neglected horse in my community, and while we wait for the state to decide what to do, I am able to advocate for re-feeding guidelines to prevent folks from hefting large amounts of food into this horse’s pen. Good luck with your mare❤️ and thanks for your great advice!
Make sure you advocate for properly watering the horse too. Is your County or Town animal control or Humane Society involved? Maybe they can help.
You are an angel @RavenSkyeRanch ‼️💯🥰❤️
Prayers & blessings for your rescue horse and you.
This old girl landed in the right spot thank you so much for helping her and being so kind. She’s a beautiful old gal.
Once healthy, she should be a dream to care for. She seems so kind and gentle. I keep saying, "she". I want to call her by a name. She deserves a really special name.
How about Mary? Maria? Marie? Merry Christmas as a name?
Your new horse is GORGEOUS.
Beautiful head and soft gorgeous eyes. Praying to Saint Francis for her.
❤ same 🙏
🥰 same here! 🙏
🙏🏻
PS: would Mary be a good name for her? Maria? Marie?
I am glad the girl is getting better and Ziggy and Whip are okay
I wanted this video to go on and on. I’m in love with this horse already and see her as a lovely companion for Ziggy.
While foals are wonderful. I hope she isn’t pregnant. She has so much to overcome already.
Thanks
CC has been lovingly calling her Mama.....please keep that name CC as it appears that she was only used as a foal incubator for most of her life, so Mama is a proud name for her!
I like Mary as in Mary Christmas---Marie or Maria also.
So relieved to see this update, vet visit is encouraging and so glad that there are not any obvious signs of disease and Mama is gaining strength. She is so sweet, really pulling for her continued recovery 💯
this is the kind of horse that won't quit on you. I got a 29 year old mare that had just weaned her last colt for my 8 year old grandson to learn to ride on. she belonged to the same woman from her birth. when I borrowed her she looked like she was 10 years old. that's difference that quality care makes and that comes from love. she passed at 32
"Her manure looks fantastic"!!!! Love you CC.. hahaha
She's a beautiful gentle kind old soul. I'm so glad she's ended up in your care.
Little did this mare know she would be under the care of such a powerful healer like CC. Her journey to health has begun. So lucky. Love that you shared her story with us, CC.
I have NOTHING to do with horses, a few months ago i didnt even like them that much.
Now look at me, checking every day if CC uploaded a new video, being very addicted to the content. Always love the shananigangs these horses are up to. Im in love with all of them and of course CCs video style.
Nigel is looking so good! ❣❣❣
I'm so glad she is not pregnant! Thank you for bringing her home and giving her the love and care she deserves!
Loving the updates on this sweet horse. You're doing a wonderful thing for her. Thank you so much! 💓
One minute in, and my eyes are blurry. Poor darling horse.
CC, you are exactly what this sweet mare needed. I always wonder what they're thinking when they come home with you. Are they wondering just how in the world their lucky stars aligned? That now they feel safe and loved and no longer hungry? I'm just going to keep thinking that , yes, this is precisely what they're thinking. We all love your sweet new mare, CC! 🐎💜🐎
Love this gentle, sweet mare❤❤❤ Her life breeding babies are over and she can just recover and be pampered by you CC, bless you always 💕💓🎈🤩❤️🩹
The way she follows along just because is so sweet.
It's like whereve she's been before, they squeezed every use they had for her out of her and threw her away after her baby was ready. Regardless of what reasons anyone could have, there's no justification. She did not deserve that. She did so deserve to be rescued though and live a good life, however much time she has. Best wishes for her recovery.
Or maybe they pulled the baby off of her too soon. Horse Plus just rescued a bunch of babies, and a couple were only 4 months old!
@@alisong2328 : One was believed to be two months in a somewhat recent video.

It is a joy to watch the three amigos in the background as you unloaded the mare off the trailer. I cannot get over how sweet and gentle she seems, and I totally see why you picked her up from auction. Wishing you and this new mare the absolute best.

Although disappointing, given her age and body condition, not being infoal is good news. She can put all her energy into her recovery. With a mama like you, she has a real good chance of regaining her health and vigour. 😊
Thank you for saving her and giving her a reason to live. Thank you very much. God bless you
You can’t buy that feeling you get when helping another living creature…fellow man or animal…you can feel your heart swell with love ❤️ ……..priceless
Usually, when CC starts the video with a question, the answer is no 😃 I just hope all is going well so far. The mare should be on a normal feeding schedule now, and I hope CC is getting some sleep. 💞

I can't imagine throwing away this mare after she gave them a foal at age 26! Plus she's so agreeable to work with. There's a reason the mustang didn't work out
I'm very relieved she isn't bred-back and expecting. She's got such a soft Mothering energy to her though! I bet she threw some wonderful babies that learned good manners from Momma. Now, she can retire, and this is HER time to just Be.

I'm so glad she isn't in foal. These old mares often die of uterine artery rupture after foaling. She loves you already - food, grooming, and a warm blanket. An old horse's dream.
What an absolute sweetheart of a mare. I actually think "mama" is the perfect name for that beautiful lady. I'm so hoping her recovery goes well.❤
I'm kinda hoping for her to be named Mary Christmas, Maria, Marie. What do you think?
