Wow, I have been following your trip and now heard about your planned schedule. We were thinking of being in Malaysia in August, 2020 as well. The plan was to fly to Malaysia from Toronto, Canada and visiting friends in Malaysia. COVID messed up our plans and obviously your plan has been halted in Turkey. Who knows, without COVID we may have met up in Malaysia. Keep on trucking Trudy. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Really enjoying your videos, but the Diary Cam section was a refreshing glimpse of the reality of van life. I suspect this will be relevant to many people who are considering this type of trip. Good luck on your journey.

Your plan sounds like a good one, I watch a lot of these channels, the most successful ones appear to be where people travel huge distances fairly quickly I know there will be people that does not suit but that tends to be the most successful formula. Hi Mike - thank you for your message, Annabel is actually one of our kids friends who decided that she wanted a 'lift' to Italy !! LOL - and asked if she could come for a couple of weeks .... and as she is like a daughter to us ... we said yes !! It was cosy, but we all get on so well we coped incredibly well and Annabel did remarkably well for her first van experience !! She has left us now as we are in Lake Garda area, but she might catch up with us again in the future xx kind regards - Marianne xx

Hi from Budapest-- is one enjoying ze ride? Do you prepare soup a lot? I would as it saves you cooking all the time . It can last 3 to 4 days. Don’t come to Hungary now ... very cold: rather come in spring or summer! I shall be buying a small Used camper in this spring. I and my dear ex wife camped out in sisteron and gap back in 75 and 76. In the summer. ‘Twas grand!
You may want to invest in adapter that lets you plug your laptop directly into a 12 volt socket. Charging via an inverter isn’t very efficient as the inverter converts 12v DC to 240v AC, then your laptop charger is converting it back to whatever the DC voltage rating is for your laptop.
Thanks for this Stuart, we have had a 12v charger before and the laptop died ... and we are a little nervous to use a 12v charger directly into our laptops now .... what do you think ? DM if you can guide me ... would love to know more 🤔😉💕 best wishes Marianne xx

Hi Chris - thank you for your message and question - we do fill up from the free water points - we have a lifesaver jerry can, and I filter all the water we drink through that - we may in the future use our steripen too if we get really nervous - but we are delighted with our lifesaver Jerrycan - the water is crystal clear - best wishes Marianne xx😘👍🌺

Most European countries have good facilities for motorhome travellers with plenty of free overnight parking like you found.....it's only UK where they are not made welcome.
Hi - unfortunately this is true - it is astounding how there are so little facilities .... I think each local council could encourage business to local business by creating areas for visiting van / moho people who in turn then shop locally xx
@@TREADtheglobe There are many experiences i could quote but one always sticks in my mind. I was in my campervan near Werfen, a small town in Austria. I needed some postage stamps so drove to the little town and the only parking area i could find was metered. Puzzling over how much to put in the meter, a local lady came running over shouting frantically for me to "halt halt", then explained, "you get the first hour free and only pay for time after that". I bought my stamps, walked around the town. then had a very nice meal at a local restaurant, plus spending money on souvenirs - Werfen is best known as the film location used in the movie "Where Eagles Dare" and the castle is nearby (well worth a visit). There is also an excellent campsite ground nearby with good facilities and quiet - Camping Vierthaler N 47° 26' 35.2" E 13° 12' 36" The lady who runs it speaks fluent English.
