I waited a whole week to listen to Singularity because every song on Empath its self was enough to blow me away. After a week of jamming to Evermore, Hear Me and all the others i finally jammed this while on a long drive home, when this song hit I got so overwhelmed with happiness i had to litterally pull over and ball my eyes on the side of a road. Im a socially autistic kind of guy I dont connect much with people but this music makes me happier then anything in the entire world. Thank you for existing Devin Townsend
Probably one of the best closers that wraps up any album. Stands on its own as one of my favorites of all time. Even my 3 year old daughter loves it, and she only like evermore and genesis bc there’s kitties doing vocals on parts... but I’ll ask, you wanna listen to Devin Townsend? And she says, “I want ‘shine on me!’... or spacecat... she’s even remembering some of those lyrcis which makes me damn proud.
Might be the absolute best 4 minutes of Devy I've ever heard. It's that perfect mix of heavy, proggy and beautiful, ethereal melody; it's just incredible. Empath is amazing
I remember listening to Devin in high school, at the time it was DTB , still remember spending the entire day listening to Accelerated Evolution while playing Smash Bros Melee! I had a chance to meet Devin a year ago before he played in St. Pete and I told him how happy I was that he had gotten the success he rightfully deserved. He probably hated the thought of mainstreaming, but nevertheless he deserves every bit of recognition given to him!

Now everyone get Yes's album Going for the One and crank up Awaken.

I had to listen to this song about a dozen times before I even fully realized how complex the rhythm is underneath the 4/4. Probably my favorite on the album.

The drumming throughout this song is stupendous but from 3:35 to 3:42 it's wow just wow.
