    out here in bc I fish for trout with roe and my main by catch is jack chinook
    also, the salmon eat the eggs because they don't want other salmons eggs to hatch and compete with their own, and they eat spoons because they think that those are fish that will eat their eggs.

    • @thundermistlures
      @thundermistlures  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ...spoons and crankbaits will work, but rather than crankbaits, spoons and spinners are much more effective, especially at this time of year and they are also easier to get down to deeper depths and stay in the strike zone longer - so suggest using Spinners or Spoons, as opposed to crankbaits - good luck out there :)

    Congrats on a nice catch! Got a question for you. It's my understanding that fluorocarbon is stronger and lasts longer than mono and braid outlast them both, i was told to change my mono once a year. How often should I change my fluoro and braid?

    • @thundermistlures
      @thundermistlures  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like ot change Fluorocarbon at least annually and braid could easily last 2 years, depending on use....each year, suggest cuttiong off a few yards. May i ask how long was the sinker line and the hook line? Also is they are the same LB test?

    • @thundermistlures
      @thundermistlures  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like the sinker line to be a bit longer than the hook line - so 2 ft to your sinker and 1 ft 10 inches to your hook - if you use a lighter line on your sinker and your sinker gets snagged, you will only lose your sinker and save the rest of your rig :)

      I would have been using 15 lb fluorocarbon line - (Thundercarbon brand) - the hook line I used the T-Turn Bait Rig #6B, which is a carp rig, but the hook size is perfect for salmon and that rig #6B comes pre-tied with 25 lb.
      Fluorocarbon line :)

      Nothing less than 15. In the swifter waters where we need more weight dont hesitate to bump up to 20 or even 25 or 30

      well it all depends on where your fishing in a area like this i would say use 30-40 lb main line to a t-turn to a 15 to 20 pound fluoracarbon leader for your hook and a 8-10 mono or fluoro leader to your sinker if your using over a ounce and a half go higher for sinker if your fishing a area with slower water you should use 15-20 braid and a 20 pound fluoro leader and anyline for your sinker
