In the 70s Mel Brooks made a movie calling out Hollywood for it's homophobia and racism, the fact that this woman didn't win an Oscar for this movie is proof that racism is still being practiced by Hollywood. .
Scene is the biggest error. 😉 there were no bathrooms in the wing she worked in .. all he did in this scene was modify the b/room in the coloured wing .. nothing changed in the place she needed it.
Absolutely! And the bosses reaction is what it makes so great! "Here at NASA we all pee the same color" Is the best sentence anyone ever said in a movie :)
AGREED! How did she NOT WIN? I only think sometimes the academy sees someone with so much talent- and they don't want them to win right away- because they want to see MORE. That's the only positive frame I can think of to see a "snub" in. Maybe BC she's still a relatively new star people are still just discovering? I don't know. She's a winner for sure.
@@bodybalancerDidn’t I read a couple of years ago that not one person of color got nominated? There is still a great deal of prejudice left in this country.
I went and the movie with a friend yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon with a friend, and whereas I basically loved the whole movie THIS was the scene that did it for me. He had no concept how much she had to go through there JUST TO GO TO THE BATHROOM until she finally breaks and tells it to him like it is. Then that moment when the bathroom sign came down? OMG! Tears!
You could hear a pin drop when the actress, ( I'm not sure who she is, but what a *fabulous* performance, ESPECIALLY this scene ), expresses her anger / frustration at the situation. 👏👏👏👏👏
Whether or not this specific situation happened in real life, let us not act like this didn't happen back then ALL THE TIME. Everywhere. This is something that was a very real part of everyday life for minorities.
This is a great scene for sure. It was done to portray a common situation at this time in history. In an interview with Katherine, the lady who actually lived what the movie is about, she said that this never actually happened to her. I her particular case she was accepted as part of the team in this regard.
Taraji will get her Oscar. It will come. Hidden Figures is only the beginning for her. This movie opened the industry up to exactly what Taraji P. Henson is all about and now.... she'll get her due, maybe not his year or the next... but it will come.
Here's what Jim Bridenstine, one of the NASA directors, said about Katherine Johnson : “Katherine's work included key contributions to our early flights. Her calculations, such as those that helped Project Apollo's lunar lander synchronize with the command and service module orbiting the moon, have ensured the safe return, and the success of the mission " It should also be noted that at the very end of her career, after having made an eminent contribution to the development of the International Space Station, she was working on missions to Mars. 🌠
That scene was so powerful and it shows how we have evolved so quick in the world of space exploration but brought a tear to my eye and a sense of shame how not long ago people were segregated for there colour on something as simple as usingthe toilet and I'm mid fifties living in England i knew who the 3 genius women are but i didnt realise not so long ago people of colour were treat like animals in my eyes .
Costner's stunned reaction to, basically, "My time's being wasted because of WHAT???"... is timeless. True NASA back in the day. My dad was one of the first Native Americans promoted to management (UTC/NASA). At the exact time this movie takes place. William Gladden. NASA folks, being very scientifically literate, understood "race" doesn't actually exist in any of the Physical Sciences. Such as Biology.
I'm so sad that Taraji didn't get an oscar nomination. I loved this movie so much, i really think all three of the leads deserved at least a nomination, especially Taraji in this scene.
I hope this movie keeps making all the money. That's what matters with producers. Then maybe we will have more good movies about people instead of aliens or super heroes.
Great scene! It made me think, "Some days, just going to work can be difficult. If they told me my bathroom was at the other end of the campus, I would effing pissed off!"
This scene had me in tears. This movie was wonderfully made. Everyone in the theater clapped at the end. Both black and white.
YES THEY DID
I believe it that's y I raised my children the way I did my girls are Christian and black
Seems like our feelings are all the same color too.
One of the most powerful scenes in the entire movie. Taraji deserves an Oscar for this scene alone!
When I read the title I said d out loud, and I live alone, that the pee pee seen was the best scene;)lol
AMEN!!
In the 70s Mel Brooks made a movie calling out Hollywood for it's homophobia and racism, the fact that this woman didn't win an Oscar for this movie is proof that racism is still being practiced by Hollywood. .
THE SCENE ALONE DESERVES MANY OSCARS
Keyon Elkins YES YES YES !
Keyon Elkins That Scene was not real, Kevin Costner Character is Fictional.
Scene is the biggest error. 😉 there were no bathrooms in the wing she worked in .. all he did in this scene was modify the b/room in the coloured wing .. nothing changed in the place she needed it.
AMEN!!
A THOUSAND AMENS
Tears me up every time I see that scene. The indignity of it all..

phillynurse9492.
Great movie. I'm going to buy it on DVD for my daughter. She will love it too.
Me too. Well said.
Absolutely! And the bosses reaction is what it makes so great! "Here at NASA we all pee the same color" Is the best sentence anyone ever said in a movie :)
MY WIFE read the book, seems she only went to the other building once.
She should have been nominated for an Academy Award for this scene alone. I felt every emotion she went through as if this was really happening.
If she were nominated she might have won
This scene tears me up every time I see it, quite a great actress
Same❤
Awesome actress!
100000 %
She was absolutely brilliant in that scene. His reaction was perfect.
I was in tears when I saw this scene. Wonderful Movie
Renee Merlo-Simmons i'
NOT only in NASA, but generally, ''we all pee the same color''....the same blood.... One of my best movies ever ❤❤❤
This made my heart break into million pieces. If it were up to me,I'd give her all the awards!!! And SHE IS THE BIGGEST SNUB THIS YEAR!
titus saha YAS. Taraji and Amy Adams deserved nominations!
Titus Saha so true!!

These brilliant Women should have been recognized way sooner than this movie!
totaly agree
💯 % 👍 agree 👍
💯 agree. But they were fighting a very deeply entrenched, racist, ideology. They were here to break that glass ceiling and get John Glen up in space.
I went and the movie with a friend yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon with a friend, and whereas I basically loved the whole movie THIS was the scene that did it for me. wow, Taraji really just SLAYED this scene. (TEARS)
This is now one of my favorite scenes of all time.
Loved this movie. Smartest people on earth.
was by the far the best scene in the movie. she told all of them off.
Man she brought tears to my eyes...you need that Oscar lady.
Up there with Shawshank redemption as a truly great American cinematic experience. ❤🇬🇧👏
That was fiction.
This is based on real people.
Big difference.
@@yvonneplant9434 inspiring none the less. But point taken.
I watch this movie over and over again. It is absolutely awesome!!!
I got chills when watching this scene it was so good
This was the best scene in the movie!!! I love her!!!❤️🙏🏽❤️
Kevin nailed it... Salute to the real NASA chief....
Kevin ad-libbed this scene.
THIS MOVIE SHOULD BE AT THE OSCARS
It's nominated for Best Picture!
This is one of the best, most important scenes in the movie. Thank you for posting it. I was waiting for someone to do it!
This scene was worth any award there is, it just breaks my heart to watch it, i love this movie!
This is the first movie I have been to in years where the audience clapped several times during and then at the end of the movie.
i can't believe she wasn't nominated for an oscar just for this scene alone. the academy should be ashamed of themselves.
krizelle this scene was absolutely amazing. Taraji acted her ass off. She should have been nominated for this scene alone
No one played a slave, a maid, or an illiterate broken black person, so of course it wasn't nominated.
Sad isn't it?
Steven S Exactly Smh
krizelle Fictional Scene, Kevin Costner Fictional Character.
On god I was waiting for somebody to upload this on TH-cam !
I was more upset than sad. Then when he broke sign I clapped.
Very painful thing to watch of her; she's the most brilliant person in that office💔💔.....it makes me cry😢😭😢
Katherine Johnson was a genius. Because of this film and the book it's based on, I learned about her for the first time.
This is the reason Taraji deserves an Oscar!!!!
Such a powerful scene
one of the finest movies I have ever watched!
Very powerful scene
But true how it is in this country.🤨
You could hear a pin drop when the actress, ( I'm not sure who she is, but what a *fabulous* performance, ESPECIALLY this scene ), expresses her anger / frustration at the situation. 👏👏👏👏👏
I found myself rooting for all three of these women. this was one of the best movies I ever saw.
MY GOD THIS WOMAN IS A GREAT ACTOR.
So rivitting! i was in tears at this scene.
IL RAZZISMO E LA COSA PIU SCIFOSA CHE SU QUESTO PIANETA ESISTA,,.
Whether or not this specific situation happened in real life, let us not act like this didn't happen back then ALL THE TIME. Everywhere. This is something that was a very real part of everyday life for minorities.
It did...
Everywhere in the USA... In most other countries in Europe and North America, this did NOT HAPPEN.
It's not in the past yet. We have very powerful forces and a whole political party that wants us to go back.
She made me love her as an actress even more.
This broke my heart.
I wanted to cry so much when I saw this scene. 🤧
I think Kevin Costner should nominated for best supporting oscars 2017...!!!
I loved this film. Powerful acting! Women, especially black women have always been crapped on thoughout history. Amazing woman!!!
Just the best scene I’ve ever seen acted by a women. Period.
when I saw/watched this movie, that scene made me angry, mad, sad, and uspet. Taraji acted, and played the hell out of that role/scene.
It's one of the best scenes I have ever seen. She deserves an Oscar 🎉🎉
wow. so powerful
Chria Ross and
this was a Oscar worthy performance
My favorite scene in the entire movie!
This is a great scene for sure. It was done to portray a common situation at this time in history. In an interview with Katherine, the lady who actually lived what the movie is about, she said that this never actually happened to her. I her particular case she was accepted as part of the team in this regard.
She should have WON the Academy Award! Outstanding, unmatched performance of a NASA icon!
That movie was so well made and well done. The characters could not have been portrayed by any other actor/actress. So powerful.
The best scene in this movie
*You could hear a pen drop in the theater*
this scene should've given Taraji P. Henson all the nominations for all awards
Love this movie...watch it over and over! She is a great actress!❤😅
Taraji will get her Oscar. It will come. Hidden Figures is only the beginning for her. This movie opened the industry up to exactly what Taraji P. Henson is all about and now.... she'll get her due, maybe not his year or the next... but it will come.
Wow Taraji has really evolved as an actress!
I love this man and have watched this movie again and again. I love this scene.
She deserves an Oscar award..She is really good❤
Im pretty sure this everyones favorite scene
Sent chills down my spine. Fanstatic cast in a fantasic movie. Black girl magic!
Here's what Jim Bridenstine, one of the NASA directors, said about Katherine Johnson :

she's a strong woman!
Can't stop watching this scene absolutely wonderful ❤❤❤
I loved the movie so much that I bought the DVD. It's so well done.
My favorite scene as well!!!!!!!!!!
I cried GWM tears throughout the movie. So moving, I loved it. I could relate.
I love this movie so much
I’ve watched this move 100 times as it is my favorite, that scene sends chills down my spine every time I see it.
This scene made me angry and hurt at the same time. The sign getting torn down brought tears to my eyes. She should win at least one award
Cried 5 mins straight from this scene. Absolutely beautiful 🙏🏽❤️
She is a wonderful Actress and a Beautiful Lady Love You Cookie Lion
My absolute favorite scene 💞
I CRIED AT THIS SCENE
Taraji has come a long way from playing Yvette in Baby Boy!!!!
That scene makes me choke up every time I see it
Beauty scene. "Here at Nasa we all pee the same color". Epic scene. Loved the movie.
My goodness, for this scene alone Taraji deserved an Oscar nomination.
This movie makes me want the world to better--every day. It inspires...
Costner's stunned reaction to, basically, "My time's being wasted because of WHAT???"... is timeless. True NASA back in the day. My dad was one of the first Native Americans promoted to management (UTC/NASA). At the exact time this movie takes place. William Gladden. Her role in hustle and flow is easier for the academy to embrace as an acceptable reality
Makes me cry every time
BEST SCENE IN THE MOVIE!!!!💯💯💯
This took me out still do😫😫😭😭😭
NASA engineer tryin to remove toilet sign => hitting sign with crowbar... Meanwhile J.Gagarin takin a little nice tour ;)
How did this NOT get an Oscar ?
literally. balled from this scene.. CRIED AND CRIED!!!
Gemma Dean same
I'm so sad that Taraji didn't get an oscar nomination. I loved this movie so much, i really think all three of the leads deserved at least a nomination, especially Taraji in this scene.
I wish this was true for everything we are a part in this life but somethings just don’t change !!!
Real leaders conduct themselves in this way!
I hope this movie keeps making all the money. That's what matters with producers. Then maybe we will have more good movies about people instead of aliens or super heroes.
Bravo, Brava💜💜💜💜 So Important and Culturally Significant💜💜💜💜
She should've been nominated for an Academy, just from this scene alone. Wow..... #SimpleTruthsOfOURHistory
Man powerful...🤎❤
She was amazing in her role❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I loved this movie. AA people are smart people. God given talents. Love them.
My favorite movie of all time!
Great scene! It made me think, "Some days, just going to work can be difficult. If they told me my bathroom was at the other end of the campus, I would effing pissed off!"
