I cannot even count the times I have see Y & T and one of those times it was from backstage .. the crowd ALWAYS is singing through the whole show & out into the parking lot afterwards ... Y & T will ALWAYS be one of the greats
Wow, it's nearly 30 years ago since I was at this gig. I remember they took absolutely ages to come on stage as there seemed to be problems with their wireless equipment, but they were worth waiting for, highlight of the weekend along with Twisted Sister.
I was at this gig, (god it seems like only yesterday).... I met Phill a few times several years later but this is how i will always remember him...... I can`t stop crying at the news. Today is such a sad day
Brilliant! Still got this on tape! I remember sitting there on a Friday night tuned into to Tommy Vances Friday Night Rock Show - with 2 fingers on the play and record buttons! lol! I think he played the entire festival over spread over a couple of weeks - Got the Budgie, Schenker and Diamond Head ones too!
Both Y&T AND UFO Are two bands that you really have to see live to truly appreciate. Every time I've seen either band they stole the show. Nothing less than spectacular live.
It doesn't hurt. I've seen both. But if you're too dense to appreciate either w/o that live experience, we'll, as my grandfather used to say, " I've got no use for you."
Gee mister that hurt! NOT!! Dense can also be defined as someone who lacks the intellect to see a compliment and makes a futile and juvenile attempt insult someone that they don't know, is also useless and a joke!
Leonard Haze - drums, backing and lead vocals (1974-1986, 2001-2006; died 2016) Phil Kennemore - bass, keyboards, backing and lead vocals (1974-1991, 1995-2011; his death) Joey Alves - rhythm guitar, backing vocals (1974-1989; died 2017)
this song , no this album, meant so much to me way back in 1982. I remember listening to this exact recording on tommy vances' friday night rock show , and being totally blown away!!!
Amen!! I saw them on their Mean Streak tour at the Crest Theater in Sacramento with a little known group called City Kidd - who later went on to become Tesla! Absolutely rocked!!
Album was Black Tiger and it was from 1982. I used to watch these guys every New year's Eve at the Cow Palace in Daly City. Had Dave to my house for a party one weekend. Awesome little show in the backyard. My best friend at the time had grown up with Dave and Scott and dated Dave's sister. There also used to be a little club at the corner of Saratoga Ave and 280 that they used to play at, I can't remember the name. It's a racket club last time I was in town.
haha my welding teacher Mr. Ray went to high school with these guys. he askd us today if we'd hurd of'em (mind you the class is fulla guys who dig 70's/80's rok) nobody knew. i vowed to look'em up. now i have a new fave. ive hurd this song b4 i like it much!
