I don't know what to include on my about page because I am writing under a pen name. I am seeing more people saying readers want to know you as an author but I am writing under a pen name for a reason. I don't want my real picture on there or any info that is too personal.
Thank you Natalia. I really appreciate your videos. This one is a winner. Agree completely about clean pages. If I have to play detective to find what I’m looking for on a site I don’t stay long. I’m in the process of starting my page. I want to thank you for the information that has helped me finally get to last steps in getting my book done and soon to be in print. :)
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this topic, Natalia. How might this fantastic advice change for someone writing short stories? Perhaps that makes it more of a vanity thing than a marketing tool? 😃
I really hope you answer this. I am writing a book that is the continuation of Rick Riordans book (it includes characters from his books but it's my own story with more new characters) can I do that without consulting Rick himself
Continuation of a story that's already copyrighted by another Author can't be legally published (at least if you were planning on self publishing it on Amazon or something like that) but it's called fanfiction and you can publish it on Wattpad and other such websites for free if you like :) hope that helps!
I realize that my answer seems all over the place so here's a simple version. What you're describing is called fanfiction and you don't need Rick's permission to write it but it's just that you won't be allowed to sell your book :)
The website domain question; would you say to wait until you're published to buy a domain or start early? For now I'm writing my first novel but write other shorts that I share. Wondering what you think might be best for this circumstance? Thank you for uploading this video, I decided this week to start an author website and this came at a perfect time!
I would suggest to buy your domain now if it's available. The longer you wait, the higher the chance someone else will purchase it. You don't need a website right away, and you don't have to do anything with it. Just sit on it if need be, but at least you'll have it. Domains are cheap unless someone has bought them up and is reselling them at a higher price. So, get it while it's cheap. Get it while it's available. That's my advice.
Your book cover isn’t terrible for someone who had no idea what they were doing. Song of the dryad does look WAY better though. People do judge a book by its cover, hence why it’s a popular saying. A cool unique cover makes all the difference and can say a lot about what’s in the book and often indicates quality. U should get more views.
Really helpful advice, thank you!
I voted for this topic! Very helpful thank you.
Thank you for this video! No matter how depressed I am, I always feel inspired to writing after watching your videos. Thank you very much :)

Yes. Would love how to navigate that
Can't you talk about what motivated you to write the book/series or different books? Maybe just talk about that????

Hi Natalia, this was a great video. I have some troubles on how to organise and figure out what I want to write. Can you help me on that? Thanks!

@@alinal5505 Ty for the information. I am sad that I won't be able to publish it. I will still write it as it's a great idea. Hope it turns out well.
Do people usually put their education on their About Me page?
I see many authors do this, but it's certainly not a requirement.
