This, to me, is a forgotten classic. It saved the Tomb Raider franchise from oblivion and reinvented the franchise for the first time. It was a treat to replay this game on PC. While it doesn't hold a candle to modern games (obviously) it's still a beautiful game, especially considering it was released more than 15 years ago. And most importantly, it's still fun as hell.
Lara heads into Bolivia on a tip from Anaya to find a stone dais in the ruined city of Tiwanaku. Lara believes the stone is connected to her mother's disappearance following the plane crash. A flashback shows young Lara activating a similar dais in a Nepalese monastery, creating a magical portal; Amelia vanishes upon drawing an ornate sword from the dais after hearing voices from the portal. Fighting through mercenaries exploring Tiwanaku, Lara confronts their employer, James Rutland, who has a fragment of a sword identical to the one from Nepal. Before leaving, he mentions Amanda as if she were still alive...
As always, we used relevant gameplay, important dialogue and all cutscenes to stitch together a fluid cinematic experience. We hope you enjoy!

i had this game on launch and i was soo pumped to play it, and yeah it brung the series back, and then they went and remade the first one with this engine, it made me buy all and play all 3 in the trilogy.

No kidding. This game is honestly the whole package. The Legend, Anniversary and Underworld trilogy (2006-2008) completely re-established Tomb Raider in the action-adventure genre of video gaming. ❤️

YES, Legend is my fav Tomb Raided of all time. An absolute classic that deserves WAY more attention.
This is my favorite version of Lara. She's confident and playful but not sadistic like her classic version. Her motivations are simple but relatable and her friendships are genuine and balanced.

39:26 has got to be one of Lara’s most badass sensuous moments in the whole franchise. Truly a forgotten gem.
I had this game on my PC, PS3 and PSP and maybe played more than 20 times. Such a gem and still holds up all these years later

Thanks when people talk about how the trilogy saved the stalesness of the ps1 era, they refer to the camilla luddington reboots like this trilogy never got in there first.
Admittedly Anniversary has some really annoying parts later on and I can't remember underworld but Legend is just that.
Keeley Hawes is a great actress and was a fantastic Lara.

Keeley Hawes was the best Lara. It definitely helps that Legend and Underworld were the best Tomb Raider games but that's in no small part due to the tone she gave to the character. Luddington is not as bad as Vikander but she still is very flat. Hell, Minnie Driver did a better job at voicing Lara than Luddington did in Revisioned
I remember playing Tomb Raider on PS2. The Legond trilogy were the games I grew up with

by far my fav of all tomb raiders, Im not a fan of the new ones because i like her style here more she is badass already established and i loved the tombs we go in and just a really good feel, i played so much i got all her outfits. the new one is more she is getting started she isnt the badass i like hahah and let alone i love her house here !
Absolutely loved this game because it was by the same team who did the Legacy of Kain: Defiance video game. The dialog, the puzzles, the mystery and the storyline overall was a walk back into the Legacy of Kain series, only this time Lara Croft was the star. Thank you for the video, as always. Love watching these. Great memories here. ❤

I was thinking during the bike on the roof sequence in Japan, her comment of "mmm, listen to that, naught to 60 under 3 seconds" was going to be on there, I maybe a little off on the quote. BTW, very good job on the video.

i know im being snarky but it always baffles me how many people think its "laura" even after being told for 2 hours straight by the game itself - in both writing and phonetics - that its "lara".

Me too. As much as I enjoy the new games, I'm just not a fan of the edgy, Rambo-esque version of her. She always seems like she's obligated to look for these artefacts instead of doing it all for thrill seeking like this Lara does. I prefer her being rebellious of her aristocratic background and considering it dull and looks for other means of entertainment, hence the treasure hunting

@@aaronkenyon7112 Very little known fact but Rachel Weisz did indeed do some voice acting for Lara. They also used her face for some of the animations but she had to drop off the project and was replaced by Keeley Hawes. Another little known fact: the motion capture for Lara was done with Heidi Honeymaker, then an Olympic gymnast, now a Stunt coordinator who was the Stunt double for Black Widow in all the MCU movies.
