FACT: Levi is the most emotional character in the story and it was confirmed by Isayama (author) although it's obvious that he has trouble on how to express them.
Damn it's amazing how only one man wrote the whole thing. Such high level of story telling and once you will get to further seasons you will also see the amazing foreshadowing. Hajime Isayama is one of the best mangaka of our time
I havjt reaad the manga but no matter how shitty the ending is that does not change what he mangaed to build up with aot. Its a gooddamn good show if not perfect and that will never change. It will go down history as a modern classic

First, he had to know IF there were any infiltrated titans inside the wall, so he disclosed critical information about the basement and Eren as a bait. In episode 16 Armin notices that Erwin's speech is disclosing too much information and finds it suspicious. This way he would attract any titans to this mission. The next step is knowing WHO is the titan. To do that Erwin lied about Eren's position, giving each group a different location. By identifying where the female titan was first headed he can identify traitors among the survey corps. Not only that, but he prepared a trap to capture the intelligent titan alive (since this was the mission's plan from the beginning). Just as a reminder, Erwin planned all this based solely on the information that people could turn into titans. This dude is a beast.

The saddest thing about the second episode here is that look on Levi's face when they heard Eren roar. You know why? He knew Eren trusted the Levi squad with his life and wouldn't transform. The only reason Eren would have to transform was if his entire squad was unable to do their jobs. The second he heard Eren roar, he knew his squad was dead.

It's called stoic behavior, something that the Samurai in Japan were taught to uphold (stoicism) which is ingrained within Bushido. This can be a both a positive and a negative, it makes you sharper with your decisions but it also distances yourself from human empathy (something Levi struggles with). Levi hates people, he's been betrayed too many times by people, he's never been shown love so that's why he acts the way he does (when compared to Eren where love is his greatest strength).

Years of traumatic events and losing comrades has put a wall around his heart. You can see the glimpses that he really values his men. It's just his upbringing to protect his own sanity and emotional state he has had to compartmentalize certain things in his life to keep being strong. You will see this aspect of his emotional vulnerability in season 3 especially
I gotta say, when I first watched AOT back in late 2019 I was so hooked on it, I ended up watching all three season within just few day. Such a masterpiece! One of my favourite anime. But I'm also sad it's ending. I actually got the most important spoilers for me for the final episodes from my best friend and sobbed so hard like never.

After you finish season 1 there's actually extra episodes that are before season 2, they are called OVA's and yes they are worth watching ESPECIALLY the Levi: No Regrets one and the isle's notebook. but there about 8 episodes that you are not supposed to watch all together before season 2 so just focus on Isle's Notebook and and Levi No Regrets Part 1 and 2, so a total of 3 extra episodes before season 2.
Yes this! I wish I could bump this comment up. The OVAs add a lot of extra background that is known in the AOT universe but isn’t outright part of season 1. They’re incredibly interesting if you want to go deeper into the mystery and the lore.

Yep, this show definitely make you feel a "wide range" of feelings. I love how at the end of episode 22, it circles back to that first scene of the Survey Corp returning from outside the walls, but this time, Eren finally understanding the grim faces of the soldiers while at the same time seeing his once exuberance and hopeful former-self through the eyes of the young boy.

Years of traumatic events and losing comrades has put a wall around his heart. You can see the glimpses that he really values his men. It's just his upbringing to protect his own sanity and emotional state he has had to compartmentalize certain things in his life to keep being strong. You will see this aspect of his emotional vulnerability in season 3 especially

I gotta say, when I first watched AOT back in late 2019 I was so hooked on it, I ended up watching all three season within just few day. Such a masterpiece! One of my favourite anime. But I'm also sad it's ending. I actually got the most important spoilers for me for the final episodes from my best friend and sobbed so hard like never.

After you finish season 1 there's actually extra episodes that are before season 2, they are called OVA's and yes they are worth watching ESPECIALLY the Levi: No Regrets one and the isle's notebook. but there about 8 episodes that you are not supposed to watch all together before season 2 so just focus on Isle's Notebook and and Levi No Regrets Part 1 and 2, so a total of 3 extra episodes before season 2.
Yes this! I wish I could bump this comment up. The OVAs add a lot of extra background that is known in the AOT universe but isn’t outright part of season 1. They’re incredibly interesting if you want to go deeper into the mystery and the lore.

Yep, this show definitely make you feel a "wide range" of feelings. I love how at the end of episode 22, it circles back to that first scene of the Survey Corp returning from outside the walls, but this time, Eren finally understanding the grim faces of the soldiers while at the same time seeing his once exuberance and hopeful former-self through the eyes of the young boy.

I've spend the last three or four days watching this guy watch AOT and it's amazing to see how he turns from a "non anime person" to an "anime person" 😁 He choosed the perfect show to watch. I watched season one and two of AOT years ago. I think it's time to watch again. I'm exited for season three and four.
Please watch the two OVA episodes "No Regrets" after finishing season 1. They make Levi's character so much more tragic and you really look at him differently afterwards. It's worth it. And also please watch "Ilse's Notebook" after season 1 because it gives more information on the titans. The three "Lost Girls" episodes aren't interesting for you yet. Maybe watch them between season 3 part 1 and part 2. Makes the most sense to me. But the most important OVA definitely is "No Regrets". Watch it. We wanna see your reaction to it.
