Basically, the Bills are gambling everything on getting a new WR1 in the early second round. If they bust, this could legitimately be worse than the Bears betting it all on Caleb Williams.

@cameronzwicke5761 it helps the Texans or another AFC team beat the chiefs, but it doesn't help the Bills beat the chiefs. The Bills will likely go WR in the draft and since they, like all teams, draft before the Chiefs it means Bills will reduce the Chiefs WR pool to choose from, and that indirectly hurts the chiefs but it doesn't really mean the Bills will be better, at least for next season.

@@aaronking4074the Texans have a really tough schedule this season. It's a 17 game season now and nine of our games are on the road. That's already a huge disadvantage. Then you consider our extra game is against a team like the cowboys that is very formidable and that sucks. Then we play the AFC East. If Aaron Rodgers is healthy that's three tough ass games LOL that on top of playing the Chiefs and Ravens and having to compete against three teams in our division that all look to have a chance to be on the rise and you can see the Texans are not in a great spot this year. More than half your games on the road sucks, especially when you're playing a tough first place schedule.

I'm happy that we landed stefon diggs. We didn't really give up very much capital for him. It was an absolute home run for us but I am baffled about what the issue was there in buffalo. It was the number one option with a great quarterback LOL no disrespect to Gabe davis, but Nico Collins is way better than him and Stroud already has chemistry with him. Tank Dell is going to get a bunch of targets. We have Schultz. Joe Mixon is a known touchdown sniper. I'm pretty sure they're going to draft a receiving back in the third or fourth round. All them dudes are going to be getting the ball. Stefon diggs isn't walking into a situation where he's going to be the clear-cut number one and lead by massive leaps and bounds in the Target share area. I hope this doesn't come back to bite Us in the ass LOL

I'm kind of glad we traded Diggs, because it was clear he didn't want to be there, and the locker room drama and diva behavior was causing so many issues for the team, plus we need to focus on getting younger and developing our potential young stars, but I'm just surprised we had to give away Diggs and 2 picks for just a second, Beane fumbled the return badly but had the right idea
I was kind of amazed at the trade package. They essentially traded down to get Diggs and got a couple picks back. It was like when they traded up for Will Anderson, even if it doesn't work, after the years of wheel spinning, it's refreshing to see them doing things and better yet things that make sense.

When I saw the notification I went into shock
All my life I seen other teams with good GMs make crazy off season moves. Nick Caserio out here using whatever power he took from New England to Houston and I don't know how to process it. What a time to be a Texans fan.
That's an interesting assessment. I'm not handing out any prizes to that front office yet. Stingley is great when he's on the field. But he's missed at least half of his first two years as a pro and also missed at least half of his last two years as a college player. It was clear that he was injury-prone and yet they still drafted him at number three. He better be darrelle revis for all that. We have the 13th pick in the draft. Kyle Hamilton was sitting right there. We traded down to 15 and instead drafted a guard who was projected to go somewhere near the end of the second round. That guard was average as a rookie and didn't take a snap in his second year because he was hurt. Meanwhile Hamilton is an All-Pro and and we only have one usable safety on our entire roster. Meanwhile the capital that we picked up for moving off of Kyle Hamilton to draft Green was also wasted because we took mitchie over George Pickens. It was a clear error at the time. I like John's story and I can appreciate that he came back from a serious illness but the role of each player was clear when we drafted them. I think we got lucky with stroud. We would have taken Bryce if the Texans had ended up with the first overall pick. We got lucky we won that game. Joe Mixon is not a home run by any means. I appreciate that he could stay healthy but his yards per carry is not good lol. We have no secondary. We let Steven Nelson walk and replace him with cannon fodder. Are only clear good player in the secondary is made out of glass. I like azeez. He was an excellent pick up as a linebacker. However Blake cashman led the team and tackles last year and play damn well. We let him walk for way less money than what we ended up paying azeez al-shaair. I acknowledge their have been clear home runs as well. This trade for digs was essentially them sending the number 23 pick out for the number 42 pick, stefon diggs, pick 188, pick 204, and to pick somewhere in the 150s next season. That is an absolute home run. I love the Danielle Hunter deal. Will Anderson was also an absolute home run. So was tank. Pitre had a rough year last year but I still believe in him. The team has a great ceiling. But that front office is not getting any awards from me yet. Way too many glaring mistakes

As a Texans fan I was nervous about Diggs' cap hit after 2024 but evidently his contract fully guarantees this year so if he's cut from 2025-2027 the dead cap hit is 0...W I L D.
Considering CJ is on a rookie deal still we really don't have to be concerned about that anyways. However that is exactly why I prefer diggs to ayiuk. His contract was set in stone and we were going to have to pay BA. The minute we restructured Titus Howard's contract I knew we were getting diggs or brandon ayiuk

Tbf, Diggs is pretty clearly into the decline phase of his career…but it’s still going to hurt the Bills for this season.
*Then again* this reset/transition season the Bills have planned is one of the most intelligent, courageous things I’ve ever seen a franchise do. Typically they’d try to keep running it back until the entire roster is ruined, filled with aging and expensive vets (ie, what the Saints keep doing and what the Jets are apparently going to try this year).

Idk this seems relatively low risk. They only gave up second rounder (same draft pick price for Nuke btw), they have the cap space to pay him this year and even if he ends up being a untradeable head case, there's not even a dead cap if they cut him after this year.

I don't think this is as big of a gain for the Texans as it is a huge loss for the Bills. It mostly comes down to targets. I really don't see how he ends up with 100+ receptions again with so many more viable targets for Stroud. 70rec/700yds/6-7TD would still be great for him, but half his value is going to be drawing coverage from Dell, Collins, and Schultz.
Meanwhile... who is Josh Allen going to throw to? They probably need to take two swings in the top 50 to make sure they get a clear answer, because Curtis Samuel and Khalil Shakir are *fine*, but that is not a WR1/WR2 combo I'm comfortable with (or counting on Allen being okay with wasting a year or two on).
