From a women, sons are born. Women, are indeed, the teachers of our faith, and are an important role to raising righteous men. I believe it is great that more women seek to go deeper in sharing the Holy Faith. Thank you Father John and Sister Vassa!

women preachers seem to be a great idea. But I suppose that the ones who have gone against the grain and know 'what life is' would make the best teachers. Imagine a world where women assert themselves in 'holy' ways without being overt or tempting men. That would be a remarkable world in deed!
The Orthodox Church was a massive change to the established order. In the ancient world, priestesses were ubiquitous in pagan temples. The male priesthood, the admonishment against sexual indisicpline and debauchery, these were new ideas.
For whatever reason, God Himself chose his priesthood to be men, as pleasing to him, and his star witness and his initial vessel, and later his human monarch with Him in Heaven, to be women.
Given Mary's stature, women are already the primary humans in the Church. Priest's serve. Mary is much more than a servant in heaven.

Interesting to watch Behr articulate himself out of addressing the real issue re: women working to gain a degree at St. Vlads, to find no place to serve within the Church. She did not say anything about priesthood, but about teaching. MDivs cost far too much money for one just to witness for Christ. Being 'salt and light' does not require an MDiv, but an understanding about God's plan of salvation through the atoning work of His Son.
Not sure you listened too well to what he had to say. Nor am I certain that you understand the purpose of postgraduate theological education.

John's suggestion for a new show entitled, "Orthodoxy & Cycling" is an interesting concept. Nonetheless, would recommend ONE WORD OF CAUTION FOR YOUR "ZILLIONS" OF FANS" out there! Cycling and watching "Coffee with Sr. Vassa" on an iPad (while simultaneously drinking hot coffee from an official "Sr. Vassa designer mug") may prove perilous; especially if someone has a particular affinity for unicycles. :)

A very nice video. As this is my first time watching this channel, I'm slightly confused about what the purpose of the mention of the show being "award winning" and "the best" was. I'm assuming that these are jokes. Regardless, a calm and relaxing watch for sure. @Sr. Vassa, I can't remember if you ever presented your opinion on women leading in the church, so if you happen to read this a comment would be appreciated.
