  • After 7 decades in Rock ‘n Roll, Rod Stewart has announced his retirement of his Rock ‘n Roll career and plans to perform Swing music with the Jools Holland Orchestra. According to a June 2023 interview with the BBC, Rod Stewart has made a stunning statement regarding the conclusion of his Rock n Roll career including live shows and will focus on the American song book.
This is sad news, but I guess all good things must come to an end..
Special thanks to Rod Stewart, Boy George and BBC Television.

Rod Stewart is apparently a man of good taste and rare self-awareness. He obviously still has enough on the ball to put out killer music in the direction he’s chosen. You can see genuine sadness on his face when he say “All things must come to an end,” but the key is the happiness and anticipation in his eyes when he talks about his next projects. Hope they’re great! +75,000 points on the coolness meter.

Loves music with passion. But when we lose passion, or maybe for what he's known for, energetic and great live performances, and wants to sort of reduce it, can be quite sad. He's a true professional as we know and he makes the right decisions when he feels the timing's right. No one's going to deliver exactly the same all the time. Maybe he feels his not upto it as much. I'd imagine this is like his baby, his child and that's so very dear to him. True performers know that.

Heard him sing unaccompanied with his daughter during covid, lovely! Still sounds great. And, it has to be said, he gets more handsome and charming every year! Aging like a fine wine. 😘❤️🥰

Rod Stewart deserves all the applause, fame & respect he has. He's worked tirelessly over the years writing & recording some of the best known music for the last 30+ year's... I love his music the early years, the lavish 80's dance floor fillers & the honest, thoughtful less flamboyant but equally iconic song's that anyone can listen to, resonate with & enjoy.
He truly is a legend & although his performance will be missed, his musical legacy lives on 👍👍
Rod & George together actually makes sense, both unique in what they do yet united in the talent they share... I would love to see them perform 🤞 I get the chance ❤️😘

Everything he did after 1976 was pure bosh.

@EligarEsoo you can make money and still treat it as an art form.
His first 2 albums with Jeff Beck, his first 6 solo albums , his 4 Faces albums are all full of excellent music.
Try listening to them today , particularly the first Jeff Beck album Truth, his Every Picture Tells a Story solo album and The Faces A Nods as Good as a Wink album.
When he got passed Atlantic Crossing it was all over.
I'll ignore what the fawning blue rinse set think who once threw their moist panties at him on stage.
He became a mega star with zero musical credibility.
And since he became a Sir and pushed the jabs and the Ukraine war he became nothing more than a government shill.

Still play, still love it.😊

Rod's great rock career ended decades ago. He's still a rock icon in my eyes but he went full pop in the seventies. He made a rock album about 18 years ago but it was unremarkable.
    MTV unplugged was pretty good.

I saw Rod Stewart in Vancouver in 1970. It was the first official concert that I ever went to. And he's always had a special place in my heart.
