Shane couldn't live with the fact that he wouldn't be able to father that child (Judith) the way he wanted to. Instead of committing suicide, he had Rick do something that would harden him to the world they live in. Kill your best friend. Look what came of Rick. The character of Shane was *SO* deep... I miss him deeply and would've loved to had seem him and Rick tag team on The Governor, The Cannibals, The Wolves and The Saviors. I don't think Shane would've let Negan live though.

Rewatching the show also made me realise that a lot of the first group where terrible people, just "We don't like Merle, so just leave hom on the roof" wtf!? Glenn fought to get Ed buried, not burned, but no one but, ironically enough, T-Dog and Daryl really cared what happened to Merle.
