I did a couple of covid journals in the beginning of the pandemic and included good things that were happening and what we could learn from it for the future as well (as the bad stuff) but eventually it was time to think of other things. Who knew at the time that Covid would last for such a long time and become so politically charged! Ugh!
Love watching your work. I started “cut and paste” in the 60’s whenever I was visiting my Grandmother. She would give me a stack of magazines, construction paper, scissors, and glue. I could spend hours going through the magazines and cutting out pictures, still do! Keep up the good work .
Cut and paste! I got the biggest memory jolt when I read that! I used to do that in primary school (I don't remember what grade. But between kinder and year 6) I'd forgotten all about that. 😊😊
When I was a kid, I would do the same thing. I took a large tablet, drew a house, and would take the magazine to find all the pictures of things to fill my house. Loved doing this!!
My grandmother made a cut and paste book for each of her grands 50 years ago. In each person’s book She included articles and pictures based on our interests and the stage of life we were in at the time. She glued everything into Devotional magazines she’d finished reading to recycle them. I think it’s one reason I’m so drawn to collage, glue books and journals. I still love looking at the book she made me and thinking about the time she put into selecting just the right articles for us.
So much FUN! Thanks for sharing your process....it's so calming to watch you organize and cut your images! You've MOTIVATED ME, to get going on my glue book again! Thanks! 🥰😍🥰👍🏻😘😘😘
'...Lance is over here chewing on a dried noodle' That made me laugh out loud. 😂 I never thought watching someone cutting things out would be such fun. You definitely have a way with words! ❤
That special little place is our "black hole". Everytime I try to put things where I will know where they're at, I never can remember where they're at!! The struggle is REAL!!! ugh.
Embrace your quirks. We all have them; that's what makes us so unique. I can relate to some of the ways you harvest pictures from magazines and then how you cut them just so. Tfs, Nicole!
I fussy cut words & images out right away after I'm done tearing out the pages. I send most of the images & words I harvest to friends and some I save for myself. Great video as always. Thanks for sharing with us!
I strongly recommend carpel tunnel surgery! Easy and great fix. I had both wrists and both elbows done a few years ago. Elbows cause ulnar nerve entrapment.
Right? We put things in a special place so we dont loose them, and then we go bury it somewhere like a squirrel with a nut! Then a year later we stubble upon the thing we put somewhere safe hahahahahhahaha!
If you start the blade inside the paper a bit and then back up you'll get less shredding on that thin paper. I do, anyway. I find I have to change blades often with the fiskar. I've heard you can get titanium blades. Going to try it.
You go girl! How fun! Just for fun, go back through the magazine and just see if anything else stands out to you. Often times I see something that I didn’t notice before. I love fussy cutting! Have fun!🥰🥰🥰
I never used to use a trimmer for items harvested from magazines before, I always trusted my scissors. That was a BIG mistake, as I always found out when I came to stick them down. Then I try to trim a little off, nope, still not straight...! I am SO glad that I treated myself to a new trimmer, and now I want to trim all the things. How lovely, the hummingbird, hope it comes back at a time when you are not filming!
The paper trimmer is a game changer isn’t it?!! I couldn’t live with out it! I’m so glad your new paper trimmer arrived🎉. Not only can you cut your images perfectly straight & faster, it’s also easier on your hands. Thank you so much for watching, have fun gluing!🥰
What a good luck charm hummingbird! I love them so much! I just put those Tim Holtz scissors in my wish list on Amazon. Thanks for sharing! - Hugs, Kari
I love your videos, I could watch you all day. I find you very relaxing. Because I'm quite new to collage and gluebooks I'm still experimenting with ways of storing my pictures. I used to just have 4 boxes, 1 for big pictures, 1 for small, 1 for words and one for backgrounds. But I'm thinking of separating the fussy cuts now and also having a tub for tiny images for twinchies.
I have it too. On a med for it. Did you know it's heritary. Read an article of a football coach giving his players pickle juice for achy muscles. I tried it ! Swear by it! Probably less coffee but not sure as I don't drink.❤💐
I received the 5” ones today. Ordered the 7” ones immediately. All based on your videos!!! Thx for hooking me up! Love watching your channel. You rock!
TRUTH about losing track of extra blades🤣 it’s like Xmas when I find them all again
How special a hummingbird,I have never seen one in real life
Love hearing about your storage/organizing processes that’s really helpful- that’s why we show up 👍🏼😎
I really liked watching you do this. I love cutting images
I like watching you trim images - it’s inspiring ❤️
Hi Nicole glad i am not the only one who shops in her recycling bin!
Recycled crafts are my favorite!! :)

That's funny, I just recently cut out that same clock from the same advertisement in a magazine.
Love seeing the harvesting and cutting.
I had a hummingbird fly right next to my head while I was relaxing on my deck last year.

Thank you so much Tammi🥰🥰🥰
I find I enjoy the image much more once I've removed the white around it. 💗
Happy trimming everyone!
My Tucker is snoring with Sherman!!
Connie Anderson Awww I love that!
OMG! I was just asking you to do a video such as this!!! TY!

I’ve used so many of the ones you’ve sent me! You’re the best!
Aww thanks beautiful lady!
So exciting to have two videos! Can’t wait to see what you do with the images.😉

Did ya put your surgery info somewhere?? Lol. I don’t understand the response.

I did my first harvest earlier today - fussy cut tomorrow!

Awwww thank you Trudy!! You’re so sweet! I’ve been doing this for a while and I still change the way I store stuff occasionally.
@@relaxcutglue it's just trying to find a good way isn't it and also one that doesn't take up too much room lol
Exactly! I have yet to find the perfect way!
Oh, I have to use a trimmer, too.
What size are the Tim Holtz scissors? I’m cutting out images and getting up the courage to glue. Love your videos!
They are the 7" serrated Tim Holtz Scissors and I love them!
Yes. Restless legs in the WORST at night trying to go to sleep is real torchure. If you find a solution let me know. 😉

@@jayneterry8701 my niece is a nurse and she said a doctor told her to take magnesium glycine (only glycinate form) so I’m gonna try it.
@@helensalo9810 I understand the magnesium part. I was tested for sleep disorder and this is what they found.
Hoping it goes well🌷
My gosh I’m starting to think you’re my twin. I’ve had both wrist operated on over the years for carpal but now sort of coming back. (From use?)
I haven’t had surgery thank goodness! Yet. I hate it when my hands don’t want to cooperate! But it won’t stop us will it?! We’re too stubborn!🤪
Do you take any allergy medicine? Most have diphenhydramine. Too much can cause restless legs. A lot of sleep aids have it too.
Nic - are these the 5" scissors - or the 7" ones?????
I have both, but in this video it would be my 5 inch ones. I have the 7in ones now I love them so much, more than my 5 in ones!
I received the 5” ones today. Ordered the 7” ones immediately. All based on your videos!!! Thx for hooking me up! Love watching your channel. You rock!
