Discovery bay marina club evicted everyone and became lantau yacht club, when it reopened in 2019. Then covid-19 happened. As of june 2023, if you look at google maps photos, it's looks about 5% full, with only around 5 yachts parked on the docks. The owners must be regretting the eviction since covid decimated tourism around the world. How's that for karmic justice?
Most of the waters in Aberdeen are gone. As a child I remember it covered in sampans, junks, all kinds of boats, packed tight near the shore, people having to walk across each others decks to get home, people who lived and died on the water. Discovery bay is the vilest place I have ever been - I went once just to have a look - full of rich self obsessed and NONE of whom , other than the servants were Chinese. SCMP seems to have returned to the editorial positions of the 19thC
